Don't worry, we'll give you back Fabregas and then you'll love us again. Can't do anything about Messi killing you all those times, but oh well...

During the early 70s, the Dolphins and Reds were both annual title contenders, so that was pretty sweet. The Reds won a couple of world series but not exactly the same years as the Dolphins did their Super Bowls. IIRC.

It's much worse than Sox/Yankees. It's not only sports and city rivalry, but you've also got political and cultural ramifications. That rivalry is hardcore.

Now that the Fins have changed (somewhat ruined) their uniforms, I think that the Mariner's have the best in sports. I absolutely love their aqua alternate, especially over the navy base layer/socks.

You can't take all that stuff about Messi literally, just like all the bad stuff about Ronaldo cannot be take literally. Just like the rivalry with the clubs, the press on each side is equally hardcore and they don't have same journalistic principles and same libel and slander laws there are in the US. The press for each side is constantly attacking the other with lies and truth manipulations. It's pretty disgusting.

I have a friend who is a Steelers, Yankees and Devils fan, since 1995 his teams have won 10 championships. Then I have a friend who is a Jets, Mets, Knicks and Rangers fan and in the same time period his teams have won zero. Life can be so unfair to some people.

dolphins will always be number 1. i also like the giants because my grandfather was a giants fan and my grandmother is one as well. though it is nothing compared to my love of the dolphins, watching the giants win 2 superbowls was cool, but at the same time i couldn't help but think something was missing and seeing a dolphin superbowl victory would just be infinitely better.

being born and raised in new england and being a dolphin fan as a kid wearing a dolphins starter jacket(remember when those were cool in the 90s lol) and a dan marino jersey to school really instills a lot of loyalty, or having a buffalo bills fan as a teacher who had a box of flutie flakes on the filing cabinet

    Thanks Obama!

MLB is my first love, with the SF Giants and they've done me well with two rings lately. Yet I find myself following football a lot more now once I started following the draft a little in 2003, and now fantasy football. Put a gun to my head it's Fins 1a and Giants 1b.

Ive wondered what being a Yankee fan is like. Is it hollow? How much joy can a team take in winning about 25% of all WS titles?

The first title they won with Jeter, Petite, Bernie Williams and Marino my Yankee fan friends took it to heart, but by the time 3rd title rolled around it was pretty much ho hum with them. And alot of them are big bandwagon fans, didn't hear a peep out of them before 1996.

I love football and the dolphins are in the first place but my soccer team is very close. Growed up watching and playing soccer every day here in Mexico so it was not easy to leave my soccer team in the 2nd place. However soccer can be boring to watch, I can watch any random football game and i can't say the same with the soccer, actually several times i have had to decide between watching the Dolphins or the America F.C and ended watching the Dolphins game.

    1 Dolphins
2 America F.C (the best soccer club in Mexico)
    3 Dodgers
    4 Real Madrid
    5 Chicago Bulls

Nah man, the tax thing was a witch hunt on him. Madrid based tax authority claimed Messi owed money on his image rights income he was claiming overseas, not in Spain. Messi had a case but it would have been dragged for years, with court appearances and leaving him open to get shredded by that disgustingly biased Madrid press. He payed what they wanted insted.

I bet you didn't hear that two Madrid players, Iker Casilals and Xabi Alonso also had to pay backup taxes, and those were not from image rights but from actual salaries. That got hushed up in Madrid.

As to the snubbings, Messi does not organize those charity games. Someone else organizes that, he just participates to raise money for his children charity. Some people just promised more than they could deliver and Messi took the brunt.

When it comes to both Ronaldo and Messi, any player from both team for that matter, you cannot take what it's said seriously. Most of it is press fabrication as part of the back and forth attempts from each side to pile dirt on the other.

I'm from the UK so the Fins, or even 'American' Football, is far from the first team/sport I saw or learned about. Football (soccer) and rugby are the most popular sports in Scotland. I played rugby and also was a sprinter (100/200m) in Athletics for my school/district when (a lot!) younger but, even though I love most sports, the Dolphins are the team I would miss more than any other if they were no longer here.

It makes it all the more sweeter when a team you've supported for years finally win a title. Glory-hunters like some recent Pats fans, and now undoubtedly new Seahawks fan, will not understand this, but following a team for years, even decades, make it infinitely better when they win something. Teams that win all the time EXPECT to win all the time, and will only suffer disappointment if they don't, and mild expectant joy when they win...teams that have been waiting, craving, success for a long time will know what it means to really win the whole shebang.

Now having the read the whole thread, and seen other's rankings, I'll share mine.

    1. Dolphins
    2a. Scotland football team
2b. Hearts (Heart of Midlothian) FC
    3. Scotland Rugby team
    4. Edinburgh Rugby

Although I have to say it would be very hard to choose between a Dolphins Superbowl win, a Scotland World Cup win and a Hearts SPFL win. The Superbowl win being the most likely to ever happen in my lifetime probably influences my current ranking.

I remember being a kid and listening to the Dolphins/Colts playoff game on radio and being so proud when we won. Then so sad when we lost the following week. My first live game was the playoff game with Baltimore we got crushed in...I want to say that was 01?

Those experiences will make victory taste sweet.

I was with my then girlfriend shopping for a trip to Hawaii, listening to that Colts game on the radio in the car. Then a week later, while in Hawaii, waking up and the score was already 44-7 or something (game starts at 7 am out there). Worse feeling ever.

I actually started off with the Atlanta Braves around kindergarten in terms of my first sports team, though between a David Justice trade that crushed my poor, young soul and just losing interest in it as a spectator sport I quit following baseball long ago. I started following UNC basketball around the same time and it's a close second in passion but nothing quite rivals my love for the Dolphins. Was also a Mark Martin fan but NASCAR was like baseball and by high school I had quit following both sports.

For a long time it was #1 with my Boston Bruins being 2nd and the Oakland A's being a "there is no other sports on" #3.

The last half dozen years have altered that thinking for me. The Bruins went from being mediocre/poorly run to being a perennial contender and thought of very highly...while the Dolphins remain mediocre/poor.

I go with my heart and my emotions. When the Bruins are playing nowadays I don't miss a moment. Fourth year in a row I've seen all 82 regular season games and every second of the playoffs and they have given me joy and heart break and it's been an emotional horror show.

The Dolphins just kind of, play. I love them but I'm so tired of mediocre.

    1.) Boston Bruins
    2.) Miami Dolphins

    3.) Oakland A's

I'm not sure I can really answer this question.... I would have to say my fandom for the Miami Dolphins, Miami Heat, and FSU football are all about equal. The Heat and Seminoles have enjoyed recent success, so it is easy to root and enjoy them. The Dolphins can be harder to watch because at times they just really urge me. I know a little bit more about the Dolphins, but that's mainly because I'm a football/fantasy football junky and I have to know about all NFL teams. At the end of the day, I love them all, but....

    1. FSU Football
    2. Miami Heat
    3. Miami Dolphins

I find following those first two teams to simply be more exhilarating at this time. That may change in the future if the Dolphins really turn it on, though. Plus, college football is pretty hard to beat and the Heat have LeBron, Dwade, and Pat Riley......

I think I love the Dolphins just as much as my other favorite teams (Marlins, Heat, USC Football). I'm just glad that they don't all play at the same season of the year or else I would need 4 screens in my living room and go through bipolar emotions.
