Who are "they" and how on earth is he being tortured?

These two brothers, man ... something, somewhere went wrong.

(I do get the brotherly defense, but really, come on ... when you justify every stupid thing you do and you expect to be treated as if nothing happened? It's not like he said, "Hey, I screwed up and I am owning up to it." Had he said that, then "they" - whoever "they are - would likely move on).

I really am having trouble getting on board with the outrage/anger about Pouncey. He doesn't get in trouble with the law, works hard, and is awesome at football.

People need to get a grip...

Agreed, but he says stupid things at inopportune times. Such is the life of a modern athlete with the backlash, especially following the drama of last season. Hopefully with four fifths of the line replaced and some good character guys around him and new coaches, he'll mature and use some better tact in the future.

Yup, he's a victim of the PC craze of this time. 10 years ago people would of just laughed at the Martin thing and moved on.

Mike Pouncey is a victim of his own stupidity, and nothing else.

People are getting on him because he is not relatable. He makes stupid decisions, does not take responsibility for his actions, and then plays the victim millionaire card which further annoys the average person. It doesn't matter that he's a football player, because people like Pouncey are in every office building, every workplace or job site in the world, and they are universally disliked in all cases. We don't like people who are out of touch with reality, especially those who pretend to be a victim.

If you think Martin deserves to be laughed at, then you must feel the same way about Pouncey because they are equally unwilling to admit anything is their fault. You can't hate one and not the other.

Somehow 99% of athletes seem to stay out of this type of BS.

You know....a hundred years ago if your wife talked back you slapped her. Are men victims of the PC craze? Nope. Sometimes things change because humans above all else in our history are social ******s.

I do actually believe there is way too much emphasis on being PC at times. However this is not one of them. If I ever had a teammate who grabbed me or a lnother teammate while a second simulated anal sex.....lets just say those guys would not be happy when I caught them alone

 what a bunch of fools these Pouncey brothers are.

I get it, I think the "they" that he is referring to is the media, and he thinks the media should just move on, and I get that. However, you were implicated in the bounty scandal, like it or not, you're going to get asked questions, people aren't going to let it go nowadays. So just suck it up and move on, ya know, kind of like you expected Martin to do. You aren't the victim here Pouncey...

He won't want out after this year if we make the playoffs and offer him a great contract. If we don't make the playoffs then we're probably firing everyone and cutting a lot of people anyway. So lets just hope for that first thing.

How isn't that relatable? Average people aren't very smart and if you're looking for a football player to be beyond those things then well...

I think they both do to an extent but the whole thing is ridiculously blown out of proportion, was my point.

    "tortured?"

Talk of entitled athlete mentality, the Pouncey's need to put on their big boy pants and learn in the face of controversy, silence makes no mistakes.

Seriously, since I'd be in my 20's - at that age I'd have been tempted to bring a small knife into the locker room to slice Pouncey's achilles. That may be a bit strong ...

    "But he's an idiot!"

Yeah, an idiot that is really good at what he does on the field. You're not going to have 53 choir boys on the team, and at least this non-choir boy is exceptional at football.

I agree with this. The Ted Wells report didn't crucify Pouncey. And IIRC, Well's expressed that Pouncey wasn't a bad guy and didn't intentionally try and hurt Martin emotionally. I think too many people are confusing his behavior/actions with Incognito and John Jerry. Those two had numerous incidents of being straight up ***holes, while Pouncey's involvement was more general. He's young and not fully matured and I can understand Pouncey's frustration to an extent.

The guy is a risk to be suspended for his behavior, his drug use, and potentially even his involvement in the Aaron Hernandez murders. On top of that, he's a rolling PR disaster who cannot keep from embarrassing himself or the team every time he opens his mouth. There's absolutely and totally concern over his viability as a player moving forward, because it's amazing the issue has not come to a head at this point.

This has nothing to do with political correctness, and if you're invoking it I'm not sure you have any idea what that term means in reality. It's not a blanket term for things you feel like people should be allowed to say but get in trouble for saying.

What did he have to do w the Hernandez murders that'd get him suspended? Behavior and drug use probably classifies 90% of the league if we want to go down that road.

Yea, it pretty much is. It's the idea that people shouldn't say or do certain things on the basis that they may offend a group of people.

I think anyone asserting they have an informed and authoritative opinion about someone they don't actually know is unfair and dangerous. People need to f***ing get over themselves and their their own opinions. I have my opinions, but they're not f***ing law.

I particularly like how Maurkice complains that his brother is finding that "he can't be himself".

    No ****, Sherlock.

"Himself" is an habitual marijuana smoker in a league that (wrongly) suspends for any hint of their players smoking or possessing marijuana.

"Himself" is a guy stupid enough to publicly brag on social media about what a new rookie linemate is going to have to buy him as part of a hazing ritual, only a matter of months after the **** completely hit the fan over HIS prior involvement in hazing rookies and forcing them to pay for dinners and trips and whatnot.

"Himself" is a guy that participated in the targeting and attacking of teammates that were perceived as somehow different from the norm.

"Himself" is a dude that grabs and restrains another dude in the shower and calls for another guy to come over and simulate anal rape on him.

"Himself" is a guy that publicly flaunts his support for a guy accused of multiple murders, which may not be that surprising because "himself" is also a guy who was directly involved with another alleged Hernandez shooting in Gainesville, and has been served a federal subpoena as a result of investigations of involvement with this murderer in trafficking guns.

Yes, I think Mike Pouncey needs to avoid being himself for a while. Hopefully until the Dolphins let him leave on an expired contract and pick up a compensatory pick for doing so.

I want to pick this apart line-by-line, however, I'll just refrain say this... you need to stick to looking up stats and measurables, because your judgement is terrible. There is so much wrong with what you just posted. Beginning with the fact that you assert someone is a 'habitual marijuana user' without knowing any of the actual facts about how often said person actually uses marijuana. But, that's what people do when they have a bias and a hyper-inflated view of themselves.

Of course... that's just my OPINION.
