He wasn't overly productive in his last year there, but he held out all of camp and was under a new OC that did not have very much success. He still scored 8 TDs though, and averaged about 1,000 yards and 8 TDs in his first 4 seasons. Also, I think this idea of the Steelers "letting him go" or "chose Brown over Wallace" gets thrown out there in a misleading way. The Steelers first offered Wallace the big deal, but he declined so they spent the money on Brown. It wasn't like the Steelers didn't want him anymore.
