He's too much of a punk wimp?

On a more serious note...would you rather have:
D wade who is older and not nearly the player he was. Bosh who never gets used anyway
    Or
Love who is on the right side of 30 and Melo who will carry the scoring load for you?

Because it's the Knicks, and your franchise is a train wreck.

BTW, you are too smart to continue this "Bosh is a wimp" BS.

I feel like the term dumpster fire no longer applies to the Knicks. Dumpster fires burn out fairly quickly...Waste Yard Fire?

Lebron is the only one who needs to go there, and thats 15 min from his hometown. Kyrie wouldn't leave if Lebron signs.

My confidence in this happening is alot lower before Callipari turned them down. Im sure if he was considering it and Bron hinted to him he would return, 80M and the chance to coach LBJ would be very hard to turn down.

I would LOVE to believe he may come to NY, but again....Cleveland or he stays.

Cavs have enough assets to get Love and other pieces that would be attractive to LeBron. Could trot out a Kyrie-Afflalo-LBJ-Love-Asik type roster which would be awesome...

...but they are a complete mess with no head coach and no structure and there's no way LeBron is hitching his wagon to that type of situation.

The thing is even if the unspeakable happened, James leaving would open intense cap room we could improve our roster and have a TEAM still capable of beating the Knicks. Sooo.

Just bring in Tannehill, Grimes, Wake, Pouncey, and Wallace and you can beat the Knicks...

Mitch Lawrence of the NYDN is reporting that LeBron is willing to take a paycut if the savings are used for players, rather than for Arison's tax relief.

This seems to be an obvious bit of reporting, but if true, it is certainly an indication that LBJ is not looking elsewhere and simply wants to insure that we will continue to spend to win. Micky needs to step up a bit here. Not saying he has to go Prokhorov but no pinching pennies either.

True, but they weakened this year's team for tax purposes.

Biggest move this offseason could be the Heat re-negotiating their TV deal with Sun. IIRC, they're getting around ~$100MM/yr. now. If Arison can deliver them a Big 4, we could very well see the new contract come in closer to $200MM/yr.

Arison's tax issue could solve itself.

    LeBron PC:

Hasn't thought about free agency but his family's happiness and opportunity to win are the most important factors.

Will take a family vacation shortly and won't start thinking about contract until he returns (sure, LBJ, sure)

Doesn't need a Heat sales pitch. He knows what the organization brings to the table. No need for them to sell it

Extremely obvious piece of "reporting". In fact, I would go on a limb and just say he stole it from LeBatard who said the same exact thing on Monday.

    More LeBron:

Hasn't talked to Wade/Bosh about their thoughts but that they will have a conversation at some point. They've "earned" the right to do this together.

More at ease than in 2010 when he let FA frenzy get a hold of him. May opt in but hasn't decided, likes having "professional flexibility"

    More LBJ:

Doesn't even know who the free agents are and has no plans at this point to speak with any of them before he makes his own decision. Says that's what Riley is good at.

Psychoanalyzing beat writers pointing out that LBJ continually used "we" and "us" referring to the Heat. So there's that

    Now Bosh:

Big 3 will talk to Riley, hear his plan and then meet at some point. Says he is patient and needs some time to decompress from season.

Wouldn't commit to taking pay cut but said he will listen to Riley, talk to LBJ/Wade and his family and then make a decision.

    Bosh "loves working here"

Most beat writers opining that Bosh seems like a "yes" vote as to staying together.

No Wade today. He declined to speak to media. Hmmm........

He may not know what he is going to do definitively.

I don't believe that he has no idea, or that he hasn't thought about it though.

You know damn well he knows the free agent class. Bron is so self aware. He knows everybody's stats and he reads up on his opponents outside of just the basic scouting report, you know he knows who the free agents are.

the Knicks are less of a train wreck now with Phil and Fisher then at any point since Ernie Grunfeld was fired in the late 90's. Phil and Fisher brought more credibility then anyone else could have. Even if we lose Carmelo, which of course I hope doesn't happen, I know there is a plan that won't suck. Even if it's Durant or whoever I'm confident that Phil Jackson is so far above anything else, even Donnie Walsh. He will be our Riley-esque savior and then beat Pat the Rat just like he always did :)

Well I do think Phil was a great move but its still a new position for him and he needs to prove himself as a team builder. He will attract names but I'm more interested in what he builds around those names. That is rhe tough part.

We shall see but I thought Fisher was a phenomenal hire. A lot of folks and media here wanted native New Yorker Mark Jackson to get the HC gig but I think Phil did the right thing hiring someone who is well versed in his offense whether Kerr or Fisher is correct. I'm a big believer in instituting your systems on day one even if you don't have the ideal roster. Embed it in the culture and this way players who come in, know what they are coming in to and how they will be expected to play. That's a start to a winning foundation.

As far as the players...I suspect Chandler and Felton are the first two out the door.

Agreed but kind of like when Riley went to Miami, you just kind of know when good times are on the horizon. When Riley stepped in to the front office capacity no one knew he'd be as good as he is but greatness doesn't really fade when you step in to a new role. The NBA isn't the NFL, if you can coach talent you can generally recognize and draft talent. There are a few exceptions but for the most part great coaches in the NBA usually do fine as GMS as well

We got Riley the coach. We knew he was great in that role.

And he was a great executive from Day 1. He traded for Zo and Timmy within the first year and we were in the East Finals 2 years later.

LOL one of the main reasons to deal Chandler is getting rid of Felton. Im hoping the rumors that the 8 (Sac wants to move Cousins back to PF) or 10 pick (Noel would get to have his minutes watched closely coming back from ACL and Philly has oodles of cap and picks) are in play are true.

Of course we did. He had been doing both jobs, well, for nearly a decade.

You are not getting the best Phil Jackson has to offer. That's just a fact.
