I don't think the stadium would draw that many events a year, and not all events will be $5million. I really don't see the stadium bringing in more than 10 events a year and that seems like a reach to me. At 10 events a year you could assume he would be getting back $40-45Million it would take a minimum of 10 years to get back his investment.
There's plenty of land where sunlife is, it doesn't have to be on the exact spot. He owns all that land, you have the freeway access and all that, no problem with location
The Orlando Dolphins have a nice ring........... Ross is a DEVELOPER for christsakes! Let them develop an entire city around the team in Orange county. It could be huge. The biggest and best stadium in the nation. Monorails, public transportation, hotels, theme parks, The Superbowl committee would BEG them to host it.

There are different sketches Cooch of the new design, there's one set of sketches where they actually cut into and do something in each corner of the endzone, then there's that in your first pic above where nothing changes with the seats ( but the color) and the big screens being placed in the upper deck.
I know that since I no longer live in South Florida and attend games, my view on the stadium cover is irrelevant. I just don't get it though. I sat in the old Orange Bowl and in Sun Life stadium for over forty years with the sun beating down and I loved it. I loved the rain and the heat and always felt these were merely part of the game experience. I guess the younger fans today are just spoiled. They live in South Florida, but complain about the heat and humidity and use this as a reason they don't attend games. That is BS as far as I am concerned. The reality is that no matter how much money is spent to renovate the stadium, these same so called fans will find some other reason to sit in their air conditioned home and watch the game, instead of buying a ticket and showing up at the stadium. If you don't buy tickets because you are fed up with the mediocre play of the Dolphins for the last decade, I can certainly accept that as a valid reason to stay home. If you can't afford to attend games because of financial reasons, I can understand that also. If though, you don't go to games merely because the stadium is too hot or you don't want to get a little wet when it rains on occasion. You are not a football fan, but merely someone who follows football as long as you can avoid any discomfort which might occur by actually attending a game in person. Back in my day, those type of fans were called Wussies. Unfortunately in South Florida, there are more Wussies who follow the Dolphins than actual true football fans who realize that weather, hot or cold, is part of what makes the game of football what it is.
The stadium where Iran is playing Nigeria in the World Cup is beautiful with the perfect roof for us, the sound being generated inside is being enhanced.
The one thing im going to hate is the sun covering half the field, like in the old Cowboys stadium. Always made games kind of strange to watch when they were in the shadows. it was too dark.
nah, just looked that way on tv, that old dallas stadium was freakin awesome, incredible atmosphere and energy, and the great majority, if not all, real fans, would take it back in a heartbeat over the stupid mausoleum he built.. cowboys have sucked at home since moving into that stadium..
Posted on Google+ from the official Miami Dolphins. Wonder if they really plan to have sand around like that? Link to post if someone wants to just grab the picture or I'll do it when I get home. https://plus.google.com/102291465885508938978/posts/gFrvuZ6CJcJ Sent from my SGH-M919 using Tapatalk
They're going to start some of it for this offseason? We know the canopy won't be it, maybe the seating?
A roof, some paint, and a couple of big screen tv's..350 mill....done. They lied to us over the last couple years when they talked about the stands and the discrepancy between levels, I don't believe for a second that there is any intent in getting the seats closer to the field.
It won't take long to paint the seats blue..it think they will add 3 to 4 rows on to the lower bowl, shouldn't take long at all.
There's is at least three different blueprints floating around the public, they can't even inform their fans of what will actually take place...*******s.
