Believe me, your "scientific" breakdown on the league leaders in PED suspensions equaling Superbowl appearances tops the charts on "great posts" on this message board. Well done.

Hes an adult. A college educated adult. In a profession where physical performance is the top goal. If you take anything remotely that could tarnish your character, your team, your coaches, your fans, without checking with a doctor first....you're an idiot. And you're cheating.

you don't have to, but to rush to such Judgement with such vitriol is way to Extreme for taking a stimulant and being his first offense, it isn't like he was found coked up somewhere, or killed someone, or beat his girl in Vegas, or hit and ran.

Does anyone know what this kid has gone thru in his life, does anyone know the depression he battled In life, do you know. How close to death this kid was, does everyone know most of his body is covered in burn scars..

You ever walked in shoes like that?

Then that should be covered or approved by the NFL if he's seeing a professional therapist for it. If it's not medically covered, he's responsible. We're rushing to judge? You're rushing to defend this guy like you're his mother.

He was asked to bulk up and he took a shortcut unfortunately .There are character concerns of course but let see what he can do after the suspension before we declare him a bust.

Agree with GMJ... Apart from knee jerk reactions and BS, does anyone have any real info on what the stimulant (not steroid) was that he took?

People are acting like he's the second coming of Von Miller and Robert Mathis with the (over) reactions.

At least he is still able to participate in all offseason and preseason practices and games, though the suspension will cost him apprx $800K. He has zero history of off field issues or participating in this sort of thing.

Sucks that it happened, but at least it happened to a player at a position of strength and he should learn from it and come back after the bye hungry and ready.

Does a 4 game suspension imply he's been busted for something prior or is that a standard first time offense punishment?

Fair enough. I'm right about one thing though, this fan base is full of morons and cry babies.

Clearly you're a mouth off now and assess the situation later (if ever) type of guy. I'll step aside and let you get back to it

the kid messed up and he took responsibility for it, everyone in life screws up once or twice. i could see if he did this 2 or 3 times and never learned his lesson, but it was a one time mistake. i think some of the people on here are going a bit overboard.

Disappointed. Silly man. He's an idiot, I hope he learns from.this and we get a talented productive player from week 5. The small sample size last year isn't great but I think he showed enough. Whoever called him a bust is talking rot. He's a player who's made a mistake and is now being punished. He's not Josh Gordon. He's not a recidivist. The NFL do so much to tell these players what they can and can't take. If I was a player I'd be phoning up with my shopping list every week.

You gonna bust a couple Dolphins for stimulants and then let half the 'Hawks/49ers defense run amok with actual steroids?

I agree the loss of Pouncey is going to hurt the Dolphins offense.

The loss of Jordan really doesn't mean much to the defense because he didn't appear to be a player who was going to be in the starting lineup anyway. Many fans fell in love with him last year simply because Ireland traded up to take him so high in the draft. Personally I think Hickey should contact the Eagles and see if they might be willing to give them a second round selection for Jordan in the 2015 draft. Unfortunately I doubt if any team, including the Eagles would give more than a 3rd or 4th round pick for Jordan now.

I don't think Jordan will ever be close to the player so many on this forum thought he would be when he was drafted. If Philbin didn't want to put up with established NFL players like Marshall and Davis because of their behavior. I have wonder how he feels about a player who hasn't proved anything yet in the NFL and now will be suspended for the first four games because he failed a drug test for PED's.

Since the league doesn't reveal the actual tests, we have to take Dion's word for it that it's a "stimulant" but given he cheated - it's hard to know what he means by that. He certainly has motive to put it in the best of light.

Ultimately, it's a bummer because it hurts the team. And, it continues to hinder his development. He'll get pre-season time but he'll have to come in week 6 and a) get back into football/hitting shape; b) get used to game speed on the field; and c) figure out how to be involved in the D. Given that he's not a vet who is already a starter and has his game at peak performance, that could delay and hinder him through the year. Optimists will say it won't. Pessimists will say it will. But the reality is, we don't know how much negative impact it will have on his season. Regardless, it hurts the D and is just an overall negative (as if the Dolphins needed any more!). That's what is most bothersome for me. Still some hope for him, though.

Interestingly enough, Dan Patrick believes most players, based on people he talks to, in the NFL take banned PEDs of some sort; and that the ones who get caught were dumb. Don't know how accurate that is, of course.

The use of PED's result in an immediate 4 game suspension, even if it is the first time the player's test results has come up positive.

Positive test results for recreational drugs are treated differently, but there is a standard suspension period for each time a player comes back with a positive test results for PED's.
