The Bills beat the Dolphins last year with their backup QB twice. So it doesn't seem to matter if Manuel is playing or not. The Bills are the better team at this time and if you don't believe it, please look at the results when these two teams played each other last year.

The Dolphins are no better than an 8-8 team and with a harder schedule this year than last year, 6-10 or possibly 7-9 are more likely. It will be at least 2016 before this team is a legitimate playoff contender. There are still far too many mediocre Ireland selected players on the roster and it will take at least two more drafts and free agent periods before the majority of these players are sent packing.

IMO Football isn't as simple as "We won we are better" individual team strengths and weaknesses play a huge role.

Figures some would boil this own to ownership or coach. I should have stayed off the team forums when I heard this go down, but I thought it interesting to see what people say, which turned out to be pretty much what they always say when anything happens to the team.

Either way, I'm not surprised this happened. He was under a lot of pressure to bulk up and bulk up fast, which was majorly hampered given him recovering from injury. The guy is a major talent and hopefully we can put this behind us alongside watching him realize his potential going forward.

Not bad logic. According to his logic Miami is equal to the Patriots, the Patriots are worse than the Bengals and Miami is better than the Bengals.

    No flaws.

Drinking in moderation is fine IMO. Such as a glass or two of red wine 2-3 times a week. The problem with most common beers for example is that they are not pure. The makers use all kind of unnecessary and unhealthy additives in the cheaper and mainstream beers. Most of them anyway. Most beer drinkers don't even care. They just go buy whatever brand without checking the ingredients, with a beer is beer attitude. Not all beer drinkers mind you, just most.

Cannabis should be totally 100% legal for use by any adult, and as a medicine for even those younger when in the form of oil or pills. The one I cannot understand is tobacco. The cause of more deaths per year than alcohol and all drugs combined.

    I don't drink soda pop either though. I guess I'm insane. :)

Tobacco wouldn't kill as many without all the fillers. If you are going to smoke, organic tobacco is the way to go. Indications are that tobacco can actually ward off diseases like Parkinsons.

At least he's not going down the path of Josh Gordon (arrested for DWI)

I agree with that. There are up to any of 499 different chemical additives used in the manufacture of commercial cigarettes, and several of them are banned by international treaty for use in chemical weapons. Just as with beer though, by far most consumers don't care.

Some can berate, some have his back, I believe anyone who overcame what he overcame has my respect, I can forgive him for using a banned supplement..

Played offense all his life, until college, it's gonna take a bit of seasoning, his ceiling is off the charts..

Yeah me too. As if it were even my place to need to forgive him. He is a grown man, and made a poor decision. He ain't the first and won't be the last. I do not live my life vicariously through any pro athlete. I will watch and root for the team when they play their games and be happy when they win, and bummed for a while when they lose, and that is it. Hell, some guys seem to take it as a personal affront when a pro athlete does something like Jordan did. SMDH.

I only have one question with this. Is anyone really surprised? Who puts on that kind of bulk in the offseason without doing something like steroids? You guys had to at least think he was doing something.

I wasnt surprised in the least when I heard this the other day.

Of course they don't make muscles grow by themselves. They make them grow abnormally.

I've looked at his body closely, imo, he didn't put on 20 lbs of muscle..Dion has the kind of body that can fool people..his excess weight distributes symmetrically, so I'm pretty sure he gained about 20lbs, 25% muscle.

Steroids don't make muscles grow abnormally. They just make muscles heal faster so you can rip them apart more.

Problem is, the NFL everything is "instant" with Dio's frame it will take him 3-4 yrs to hit his stride, guys with that frame are hard gainers once they do gain though it tends to stick and makes them even more explosive as athletes.

I'd love to see a metric of JT's first two seasons v DJ's, iirc JT had a great rookie yr then a poor sophomore season. A part of it is the same problem DJ is facing our DL was very deep at the time, hard to get snaps. I do think a great player makes an impact wherever they are, like Vernon on ST as a Rook, DJ did not do so last season, if that is all he has to work with he HAS to maximize it

While I don't use any type of drugs, I would have no problem with Cannabis being legalized. Personally I think it is a far less dangerous drug than alcohol and tobacco and I think it is plain idiotic that anyone is arrested for using what is an herb.

I constantly have my buddies tell me that a few drinks a week are fine. I have no problem if others want to have a drink or two. Adults certainly can make the decision if they want to drink or smoke what are now legal substances. I just can't stand the taste of alcohol and I just have no idea why anyone would stick a cancer stick in their mouth at any time, but they have the right to do so if they want to.

Unlike you though, I do drink a soda every once in a while, but I do understand it certainly isn't healthy for me. Mostly I drink 5-6 bottles of Pellegrino daily with a twist of lime or lemon in each bottle. That is really all I need to get me through the day.

well said about Dio's frame Pod..very true..

It's why I said offseason don't go the hi weight gain route, just take that perfect body and develop what you can..it will come on slowly but what does is just a better version of what it is now..

He's plenty strong enough, plays with plenty enough leverage to set an edge...I'd like to see someone play the end with the injury he had last year, dude ripped it in the Cleveland game and didn't tell anyone.

Problem is ATM is they are taking a race horse and turning him into a plow horse DE, which imo, is a mistake

He DOES NOT play with leverage yet, he relies on his speed, cat like that should be doing powerlifts like clean and jerk or dead lifts to develop that core strength

I suspect classic lifts like squats would do him no real good, ditto bench presses

I highly doubt their plan is to do anything to slow him down that much when they used him to cover people like Gronk so much last season.

Then Philbin said he wants him to learn to play DE and not to waste time in coverage snaps.

I've never heard anyone say that him playing DE means they won't use him in coverage. Have a link?

Won't use him coverage or won't coach him on taking coverage snaps?

Short of any disasterous achilles or ACL tear to our QB, who stands poised to deliver his defining magnum opus, I refuse to allow any inexorable offseason deficit, to dampen my annual, season opening illusions of grandeur.
