On Jericho's newest Podcast that came out today he talked about his return to the WWE. He mentioned that he was in talks with the WWE to return for WM30 at the very beginning of the year but would only come back if he could work with Daniel Bryan or Wyatt. He said he spoke to the WWE about a month or so about returning and facing the Wyatts but he hadn't heard from them until Friday when Triple H called him and they worked out a deal in 5 minutes. He didn't expect to be coming back because he thought he would be touring with Fozzy but they couldn't get on the summer tour they wanted so he had extra time to come back as Fozzy isn't touring until late September/early October.

He also talked about Monday itself, how the WWE flew him into Boston instead of directly into Hartford, from experience the drive from Boston to Hartford is about an hour and a half without traffic. He rented a car and got to the arena around 5:30 and immediately went into the crew's tour bus so no one, including the talent knew he was there. He met with Dean Malenko who was the agent in charge, then The Miz and then The Wyatts to go over what they were going to do. He went to the gorilla position 5 minutes before he was suppose to go on and hugged Triple H, Stephanie and Vince and went out and did his thing. He mentioned that he walked by guys like Arn Anderson and Kofi Kingston minutes before he went on TV and that they had no idea he was coming back. Jericho also mentioned he had no clue AJ was returning either as the WWE really goes out of its way to keep guys a secret.

The first 20 minutes of it was really interesting to hear all the backstage stuff. Also I just started listening to his podcasts from last week with Paul Heyman and Edge, it's a 2 part series, that's outstanding so far. I could listen to Jericho and Heyman tell stories any time. The first part is all about Brock ending the streak, Heyman's return to the WWE and Punk walking out as the podcast was filmed in late April.

The WWE is adding Saturday Night's Main Event to the Network on Monday and rumor is that now that the Network has started to upload 1995 RAWs, that Nitro will be slowly added as well in August/September.

Really if you think about it, it will take years and years for the WWE to add everything they have in their video library. As they still have to add all of RAWs, Smackdowns, Nitros, WCW Saturday Night, WCW Thunder, ECW TV, etc. I'm sure they will add old 1980s/1990s WWF shows like Superstars, Challenge, Mania, Action Zone, Sunday Night Heat, Tuesday Night Titans, Velocity, Shotgun Saturday Night, NXT, WCW World Wide. I'm sure they will add Tough Enough from MTV/USA. They still have WCCW shows, AWA, NWA. Probably add all the WWE movies like the Marine etc. Hopefully they add the old WWF Colliseum Home Videos from the 80s and 90s.

I also would love to see them put more Old School home shows on the Network and randomly film newer house shows and put them on the Network or maybe air those live too. Like imagine them airing a live MSG house show, that would be awesome.

I ****ing love hearing the backstage stuff about this. I was like a kid when Jericho came out, because I wasnt watching a lot in the mid 00's when he was still doing his thing.....I always loved Jericho in the 90s - early 00's....so when his music hit and he had his back turned with his arms out I was flippin ****. He is gold on the mic....can't wait to see his promos with Wyatt. And man I hope Bryan comes back in time to do something with him, although I doubt it since HOPEFULLY Bryan will be back into the title scene right away.

Yeah I also love hearing backstage stuff too and never get tired of hearing it. That's probably why I love the podcasts so much and like watching the WWE docs on the wrestlers or listening to the shoot interviews.

As far as Jericho, yeah he was always one of my favorites ever since his WCW debut and I was a huge fan of his once he turned heel for the first time and started to dominate the cruiserweight division. I still think to this day that Jericho's WWF debut promo on The Rock was one of the greatest, if not the greatest debuts ever. I still remember watching it live in my room in August 1999. It's too bad that someone people (cough Triple H cough) were threatened by Jericho when he first came over and said how he couldn't work the WWE in ring style because he could have and should have been an even bigger star especially after the debut. But instead they put him in a meaningless feud with Chyna and actually had him lose to her a few times and then made her his manager, ugh that still bugs me. He should have went right into a program with The Rock with him going over leading to him winning the IC title, especially since The Rock was stuck feuding with the British Bulldog, Al Snow and Val Venis during that time. He actually was originally suppose to be in the WM2000 main event as Linda McMahon's wrestler but Vince didn't think he was a big enough star so they talked Mick Foley out of retirement for it instead.

Regarding Bryan, I'm hoping the guy will be able to wrestle again but right now I don't think it's out of the question to think he might be done. Kind of scary that his neck injury hasn't healed from the 1st surgery and he might have to get a second. Hopefully if he does come back he tones down his style and stops with the flying head butts and missle dropkicks. The last thing I want him to do is to end up like Edge where one bad fall could put him in a wheelchair for the rest of his life.

BnB had surgery on his shoulder and will be out for awhile. He's also stripped of the IC title so it should be interesting to see who they give the belt too. Personally I'd give it to Cesaro and just have him streamroll the undercard for awhile. Or maybe turn Kofi Kingston a heel and give him another shot at getting over.

Emma just got released by the WWE. Wonder if they are using the shoplifting stuff as an excuse just to continue to cut payroll or if they're really mad about it. If they're mad about it, I don't understand why they didn't dump Cameron when she got her DUI or Swagger when he got busted for weed a few years ago (yet still was in the championship match at WM) which both are obviously much worse but all stupid to say the least. Oh well not a huge loss by any means.

Just thinking out loud but I wonder with the WWE changing logos after Summer Slam if they will introduce a new WWE World Title belt with the new logo for the champion to carry around instead of holding two belts. It would make sense but then again the newest WWE title belt is barely two years old.

Emma was already off of television, so she was probably close to obscurity anyways. But Vince is so image conscious and seeing TMZ cover this and seeing other people in mainstream media on top of the story, it makes sense.

I don't get that sense at all. And I hope they don't bring two World titles back, instead just make the US and IC belts meaningful again.

True, but having both belts makes no sense to me, especially since they could have just renamed the new belt tge WWE WHC.

Agreed about having the champ have two titles but that's probably because they rushed merging the titles together and spend so much money on the new title that they probably wanted to still use it for toy sales to get the return back.

McMahon has apparently ordered MASSIVE budget cuts, across the board. Eight figures is the reported number we are talking about. Oof.

Yeah I wonder how the hell they are going to do that and how many wrestlers will be going down. There's still a lot of dead weight on the roster but I wouldn't think enough for 8 figures.

I think the WWE Network is still an outstanding idea and will be the future of the business though and its clear that the WWE has to be and stay all in now that they pissed off all of the cable companies.

Santino Marella retired at last night's house show because of his 3rd injury to his neck. He hopes to stay with the company as a manager/announcer/whatever. I bet he's released within a year due to the budget cuts though.

Also Adam Rose might be gone sooner than later, Vince put him in a match at the MiTB PPV as a try out to see if he could get his character over and the crowd basically sat on their hands and knees so it looks like he's screwed as Vince and Kevin Dunn didn't really like his character to begin with.

    Loving the Rusev/Swagger feud.....legit pops.

    Jericho/Wyatt will be awesome.

Ambrose/Rollins is booked like a thing of beauty. Regins running for the save on Smackdown had me jumping for joy.

Bo is still a riot, love this guy.

Hopefully with Santino done, Emma will get a different direction, cause she's really good in the ring.

You have to wonder if the WWE will push Emma now that she has some buzz on her or kind of hold her back as punishment because she did something dumb and if they push her now it could lead to other wrestlers/divas doing dumb things on purpose to try and get a push.

I bet they take Emma off TV for awhile and redebut her after Summer Slam when the AJ/Paige, Cameron/Naomi, Summer Rae/Layla (if they feud over Fandango is still going on) and Stephanie/Brie Bella feuds are over with because right now there isn't a whole lot of room for other divas on TV.

Never thought I'd see the Diva division so chock full of story lines. It's almost better directed than the mid-lower card right now.

Agreed. I mean Summer Slam could have 3 potential Divas matches, but probably/realistically have two a Divas title match and the Steph/Brie match.

I remember in the mid 2000s after Trish and Lita retired how boring and awful the division was but now they have women that can really wrestle and Flair's daughter hasn't even debuted yet and she's an absolutely freak (mean that in the best way possible) in the ring.

A thousand times, yes. One of the best Podcasts I've ever heard. Really interesting and powerful stuff from Chavo and Jericho about Eddie and Benoit. Jericho's podcast with Rey talks about Eddie and Benoit too but doesn't go into that much details compared to Chavo.

I thought it was pretty good with Mickie James, Melina and Victoria. I was sad that Gail Kim kept on messing up on TV. I always thought she was going kill herself.

Speaking of death, I just watched the Ultimate Warrior DVD on Netflix. The end is very depressing.

Gail Kim was good her first time around. Her second time around, she stopped caring halfway through when she realized that the 'E didn't really give a crap about the women's division anymore.

To be honest with you from like 2005 to 2009ish is kind of a giant blur to me but I thought Victoria left around the same time Trish did and Lita stopped wrestling around that time to be with Edge. Mickie James was pretty good, Melina wasn't bad either and Beth Phoenix was good too but they usually only had 1 or 2 women that were good and the rest were eh. The problem with the Divas division around that time is that the WWE was hiring girls that would pose nude for Playboy and didn't worry about how they were in the ring. Once the WWE went PG they obviously stopped the Playboy thing and focused on getting women athletes.

Yeah I heard the Warrior DVD is on Netflix, I need to check it out.

Note to the WWE, if you want to get Roman Reigns super over it's probably not a great idea to have him buddy up with Cena.

Also, I'm very proud of Randy Orton last night for not flipping out and calling Dean Ambrose stupid and throwing an in ring temper tantrum for that botched top ring spot.... somewhere Kofi Kingston is saying to himself "why me?".

Exactly; especially 3 hours earlier Reigns got a huge pop saying Cena sucked ***.

Probably cause Ambrose is a well-respected well-rounded in-ring performer. Sells like a mofo, and is real good. Kofi is good too, but Amrose is on a diff level imo

Or maybe because Orton is off the PEDs now and is a little older and more mature.

Also the Sandow stuff needs to end, it was cute at first but now it's just unfunny and annoying.

Parody gimmicks have a very short self life and this one has obviously run its course. The WWE should either think of a new gimmick for Sandow or just give him his walking papers already.

I was never a big Sandow fan and thought him winning the MiTB case last year was going to end up being a big mistake, which it was. I think he was fine as a mid-card guy to help put over new faces but I didn't think he'd ever be a big star or anything more.

With the WWE still in cost cutting mode they really have a lot of dead weight on the roster they can cut which could be a good thing for guys like Sandow who can go somewhere else (TNA?) and get more experience outside the "WWE style" and maybe come back in a few years.

Sandow has value. He is a solid in-ring performer and I think he has a future on the commentating side. And despite them being in cost cutting mode, it would be folly to cut young guys from your mid-card as they will provide a foundation going forward.

Honestly it makes more sense to cut guys like Christian and R-Truth before Sandow. Would save them more money upfront and they are pretty much off TV anyway, so you aren't missing anything for the viewer.

Yeah I think that's probably the best place for him right now. I think he was rushed to the main roster. He only had his gimmick for 2 or 3 NXT shows before the call up right? Plus it doesn't help that Vince doesn't understand the gimmick to begin with either.

I agree that Sandow has value, all I was saying is that if the WWE can't think of anything better to do with him besides having him dress up as someone new each week they might as well just cut him because he's not going to get over in that current state.

If I was running the WWE I wouldn't cut him either. I think he has value as a mid card guy. There are tons of talent I'd cut before him like R-Truth, Great Khali, Marella, Justin Gabriel, Hunico, David Otunga, etc as it's clear there's nothing for those guys to do in the company anymore. I'd even consider cutting Big Show and Mark Henry as they are getting older and are really limited at this point in their active schedule. Maybe just sign them to a RVD type deal where they come in for 2 or 3 months each year and help put over new talent then disappear.

I'd actually keep Christian around and use him as a color guy. I'd actually put him on the Smackdown announce team with someone other than Cole, just to make that show seem and feel different than RAW.

I see that Wyatt and the singing is over with which is good, They can start back up if he turns face at a later date, Also the Uso's and Wyatt need to stop if they won't switch the belts. I know they are trying to keep Kane strong till the next Special Event, But they need to let reigns get more shots in on him to built him as even more of a Threat to cena than he already is.
