In a world gone mad, Ethan Skolnick, Tim Reynolds and Ira Winderman break news and then are corrected by Chris Broussard.
I still find it really weird that there needs to be a formal meeting with Riley and that they would all wait this long if LeBron was simply re-signing. Why the hold-up? Why this whole dance? If they were all on board and this was a go, wouldn't they have just done everything days ago? They're making signings as if they are over the cap, so it's not like the Big 3 are taking less and hashing out what those amounts will be. LeBron said himself, he didn't need to meet with the Heat. He knows what he has there. It's just a really weird situation. It's like LeBron doesn't want to repeat The Decision...but I mean...he kinda does.
By the way, don't know if any of you guys ever look at the RealGM boards but these poor Knicks fans are being trolled so hard right now by a supposed insider who is dropping cryptic hints about LBJ and Melo uniting in NY. Only he doesn't just come and out and share the info. He is making them guess through riddles and number puzzles. It is hilarious. When Sec, Boomer or CK come on here with info, they give you the info. They don't play games. If you want to be an insider, then be an insider. Don't play games
Most likely scenario IMO Offseason starts, Lebron knows what Riley is doing basically. They set a date to reevaluate where things concerning the roster are. I doubt it's a meeting to woo him back.
Nothing wrong with sitting down in person and discussing things. Maybe LBJ just needs reassurance of what the Heat is doing. Maybe there is a holdup on contract length. Could be any number of things. And the fact is, we all want The Decision. People ripped LeBron for it but we want it. And ESPN will give it to you again with or without LeBron's permission.
I'm happy to agree to disagree with you on this; I see Wade as not only a depreciating asset, but a gravely, already depreciated one. You keep pointing to his past and banking, I suppose, on his rehab plan going as some have speculated, and regaining the explosion that made him special. And the thing is, knowing how unlikely it is that we move him, I desperately, sincerely hope that you are right and that my suspicions about Wade are dead wrong. I don't mind being wrong if we win championships. But it doesn't change my gut feeling.
His rehab was a two year plan the entire time. It was supposed to take more than one full season for his knee to fully regain strength and be the same. All this body holding up stuff is ridiculous. He has had ONE injury which isn't even structural and is on pace recovery wise.
The cool thing about propelling the "LeBron is definitely leaving the Heat to sign with _______" narrative is that when it doesn't happen, you get to either emphasize the drama of a game-changing meeting that happened between LeBron and Heat management and/or Wade & Bosh, or you get to fan the flames of pissed off fans who hoped to sign him and now feel like it was the PLAYER (and not the media) who toyed with them. I mean the media have it set up right now to where people think LeBron should apologize to Cleveland if he doesn't go back there and stays with the Heat. As if he's the reason they all believe he's coming back.
Even better block by Ennis. His offense is off tonight but he's making it difficult for Detroit with his length.
Cap rules. Heat needed to determine if they were gonna be a capped team or operate under the cap for this year. McBob and Granger needed to agree first.
OMG I can't believe you guys are getting caught up in this nonsense. LeBron, Riley, Arison, Michael Jordan, Phil Knight, Geri Wang, and Adam Silver are all hanging out counting money together right now.
LMAO!! Breaking: LeBron James Leaning Toward Joining Al-Qaeda http://www.theonion.com/articles/breaking-lebron-james-leaning-toward-joining-alqae,36417/
@EthanJSkolnick 39m Correction: LeBron/Riley Vegas meeting will be tomorrow. LeBron had other sponsor-related meetings today. Apologize for confusion.
Shabazz is so hard to get a read on. Really up and down. When he's bad he's bad and when he's good he's damn good.
Yeah I see what you mean. When he is going with the flow of the game and taking what the defense is giving them, he makes some great plays. But then he tries to force things and makes some dumb decisions. I guess that's part of him being a rookie.
Shabazz is so much better early on when looking to pass first. That was a great feed to Hamilton for the assist through traffic.
This thread is priceless this time of year. 90% of the posters involved are salivating over................. ....THE SUMMER LEAGUE! Lmao Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I feel like youre both right. Theres no disputing the stats Sections posted and theres no disputing that Melo took a lot more shots with a lot more pressure on him. Melo was the Knicks offense, the little they had anyway. Could Wade have put up Melos stats under the conditions Melo faced in his present state? I dont think so. Wade is the better defender. Hes probably a better #2 for Lebron since hes willing to defer. Melo is going to be what he always has been, a dominant scorer and frankly Im not sure he could take a backseat to anyone in that role or if he even should take a backseat to anyone in that role. I feel like IF Melo went to the Heat, it almost forces Lebron to adjust mroe then anyone. Assuming Bosh is the one that goes, Melo and Wade are more effective as scorers than anything else so that makes Lebron.....Magic Johnson?
It gave the Heat the flexibility to pursue guys like Lowry and Deng. Obviously that doesn't looked like it worked out, but with the big 3 not opting out they wouldn't have had the flexibility to even consider those guys.
I think Bosh is a better fit than Melo. Melo is a better player if he's the only guy you have, but I don't think switching Bosh for Melo improves the Heat. On fact, I would say it makes the team worse.
Here's just one I literally spent 5 seconds looking for because it came across my twitter feed just now. There is a LOT more of this. https://twitter.com/_stevenrod/status/486651331260588032
I am beyond tired about hearing the whole narrative of LeBron having to go back to Cleveland because they have an 'exciting young core'...Cleveland is a dumpster fire and Miami was THREE wins away from a 3Peat... The bias from everyone against Miami has brainwashed the people into believing Miami is some scrubass team...just a year ago this same team ripped off 27 wins in a row and had one of the greatest 4 year runs EVER... From the moment Pat Riley got to South Florida we have been consistently one of the best run franchises in all of the NBA. We have had one of the highest winning percentages in the sport and this front office put their money where their mouth is in relation to LeBron. Cleveland is a joke, they cant even sniff the playoffs in the East and are consistently in the lottery, LeBron leaves the Heat to go there and hes going to wish he never had the chance...
This Sheridan 90% report is incredible. This guy is a PT Barnum level huckster. He has set up this construct where he makes an outrageous statement to generate hits for his nothing website, yet he can never be wrong. When he took questions and was prattling on about his journalistic integrity someone finally asked what the 10% was. He responded that it was for Riley, who is best closer. So if LBJ goes to Cleveland he was right. If he stays here he was also right. Nice work if you can get it
