The Heat are pretty well-known for being prepared for any eventuality. Or at least I thought they were. So they didn't prepare for this? That seems tough to believe, but the fact that the organization seems to be in total chaos right now points to exactly that.
This who scramble-drill is pretty awesome. Lebron deciding was just the beginning of this mad FA shuffle.
this is the guy i wanted in the lin trade, he is a very good upcoming player, probably would have interfered with julius randle, but still his PER was very good last year
Goddamn. What a way to go into a weekend. I feel like I've been raped with a barbed-wire-covered Louisville Slugger.
Just have to trust Pat Riley. There are still FA available to field a competitive roster. I dont like all this talk of tanking for 2016, there is no guarantee to land any high profile players.
The thing I hate is the people on twitter that kept tweeting after LeBron's decision something to the effect of now the Dolphins being the top franchise in Miami again, and/or Miami's a football town again. There's being enthusiastic about your team...but that just sounded pathetic. As if the Dolphins are about to become a team that goes for four straight Super Bowls.
He has alot of potential. He's a double-double guy. Athletic and has improved his 3 point shot. Jonathan Feigen (Rockets beat writer) says Rockets may look to trade him if Bosh signs. I don't know why though. The money isn't an issue, so why would we trade him. He'd be a great bench player.
I don't think so. I think he got blind sided after operating like capped out team. But I wonder if he did have an inclination from exit interviews and then prepared for plan B. I don't know.
Ethan Skolnick saying he talked to Mike Miller a few days ago and Mike was convinced LeBron was leaving for Cleveland but he wasn't sold on the idea of joining him.
Per Woj, Heat fighting hard to keep Bosh and Bosh has not committed to Houston. both teams told there will be a decision today. Hero or 3rd wheel? I get Riley's quote in Sec's sig, but we are in the god damn fight of our lives here.
I think people are so emotional right now they're suicidal (in the basketball sense). They want to see the team blown up. But in reality I'm not sure they realize how much it will suck when you fast forward and the Heat are losing every night, and suddenly Spo is a bad coach, and all of the things that come with losing. I think the Heat should indeed fight to try and be a playoff team, a contending team, maybe even a championship team. They're doing that. There's a report that Wade is about to re-sign. They're trying like hell to get Chris Bosh back. With those two in the fold they stand a chance of convincing some other players to join them up.
I hope Bosh realizes that we love and appreciate him here. He takes so much crap, but those of us who truly follow the team understand the player he is. Houston does look bright and shiny but Wade/Bosh/Pieces is still enough to compete in the East and -maybe- get out of it depending what those pieces are.
Yahoo is reporting the Heat are fighting to keep Chris Bosh. He will decide today between Houston and Miami.
Yes, but they'll probably be just good enough to have a pick outside the top 10, but still probably have a record around .500.
The fact that there hasn't even been a single signing, even just a guy like Deng to take the sting out of the tall glass of malted **** milkshake that today has been, seems to indicate that the Heat are a sinking ship.
James Ennis to the rescue! Heh. Seriously though it will be fun to see him play more which is inevitable without James.
Agreed 100% Get a guy like Lance Stephenson, Isaiah Thomas, damn it try and lure Melo. Just do SOMETHING. No guarantee anything good ever happens from losing.
I wouldn't be the least bit mad if he left, but Bosh would elevate his Heat legend on par with Zo, Wade if he stuck it out with us IMO.
IMO Bosh has to come first. If he leaves...I'm just looking forward to what Ennis can do. If he stays I think you see other higher profile guys become real possibilities.
I can see it both ways. Blowing it up could be tough, but I don't see Riley ever blowing it up to the point where they're a bottom dwelling team. I think they'll make moves to bring in talent. I've mentioned Thomas and Stephenson, and going that direction would be blowing things up in the sense that you're starting over, but you'd still have a competitive team, and you'd be younger. I would like to see what a Wade/Bosh plus another solid guy would do in the East though. That could lead to a Cavs/Heat ECF which would be great theater.
Absolutely. He has a chance to be a legend here. To be the hero who refused to quit in hard times. In Houston he's just somebody else's third option. He can be the lynchpin for the next era of Heat basketball, take the torch from Wade
Anyone know if Granger/Stephenson have a good/bad relationship? I hate Stephenson but I'd take him at this point if he can just cut back some on the idiotic stuff.
