That's it...muting Abramson. There's a limit to how much **** I'll take in one day, and I just went over.
How anybody is ripping the Bosh signing is beyond me. No, he is not a transformative superstar like LBJ or prime Wade but he is a legit #1 option on a playoff team and #2 on a contender. The worst thing the Heat can do right now is become the Cavs of the last 4 years, a wasteland. South Beach or no South Beach we wouldn't be attractive to future FAs. For evidence of this look how the Lakers are floundering. We will make the playoffs, be on national tv quite a bit, and we could even be an ECF contender depending on other moves. And lastly, this is important for the fan base. The Heat took this market away from the Fins and they have a chance to keep it there. It shows a ton that Bosh was willing to stick with us. Wade is on his way to surpassing Marino. The Heat will put a team on the floor to be proud of. And that's important
Yup. Bosh earned the eternal respect of the fanbase. Sticking around right after Bron bailed. Huge respect earned.
I just heard the news (working late) and just started going through the thread (about 30 pages back, LOL), but this is basically how I feel. I also haven't had a chance to read his essay yet. IMO he made a poor decision and I don't expect he'll ever win a championship in Cleveland. I'm not rooting against him or anything. I'm grateful for his time here. I agree that he must no longer be interested in being considered the GOAT. Obviously he'll be the GOAT in Cleveland, but with just a couple of championships I don't think long-term he'll be in the discussion. I'm a little sad b/c I do think he deserves to be. And while I wouldn't root against Lebron, I would root against Gilbert. But having said all that, LJ isn't my favorite Heat player. The truth is that during his time here I purchased a couple of Heat shirts with Wade's number, but none with LJ. Wade is far and away my favorite Heat player of all time. Second place is Mourning. I wonder if that opinion is wide spread in Miami and if LJ sensed that. Maybe that was a factor in his decision? Anyways, going forward I still like the Heat's chances in a weak East. If I were Riley, I'd probably go hard after Eric Bledsoe with the cash freed up by LJ's departure. I know people will push for Anthony, but I prefer to go younger and I think he's a better fit.
I don't know how anyone can be upset about the Bosh signing. Everyone agrees this keeps the Heat competitive, right? Second, it's not your money so who cares about the price? Signed, a Yankees fan
Wait a tick!!! Didn't stringer bell say he was gunna eat his own poo if lebron didn't resign with Miami or something ?!?! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I don't believe Bosh makes the difference between being a Cavs team of last year and being a contender. In fact, I don't think Bosh makes a team a contender. He is a side piece to a team, and in this market there are others who can fill that role for much less. He is a stretch 4. He worked out bc miami had leBron who needed cleared lanes. Bosh is a player who can help a contender, but he will not make the 76ers a contender. He is not worth $20mil. I understand that a player of Bosh's stature gets paid that kind of money, but Heat should not have spent that money. That $12M/yr saving would allow the team to sign another piece or two, or three. The fact they scrambled to sign Bosh shows they had no plan B, they talked to no one, they had no one lined up as contingency.
Dez....have you ever..in the entire time youve posted here..ever had one good thing to say...about..well..anything?
They're going to have a very nice core of MCW, Noel, Embiid, and 2015 draftee. As a fan who has had to sit through them being bad/mediocre enough to get a 7-8 seed and lose in the first round, this approach has been a long time coming.
That one got to me. Suddenly, I'm that second-grader again, watching the girl he likes jump for joy because she got her transfer to another home room, where she has more friends.
I just hope he recognizes, and is ready for the fact that if he doesn't win a title in Cleveland he could go down as the guy who made the worst career move in NBA history. He very well may end up happy with all he does, but in 30 years that could very well be the public perception of him. (Outside Ohio)
It's okay. Don't let the door hit you on the way out. Thanks for the rings. Have fun in Cleveland. james ennis starting? Bosh got that loyalty though. Dwade still the heart of the heat. If the mavs and spurs can beat lebron, we can too.
Read this and tell me you've EVER read something more cliche. But you left it up for four years? Yeah Gilbert, go screw yourself. http://sports.yahoo.com/news/how-le...bert-and-returned-to-cleveland-191445831.html
I would have been okay with Lebron leaving us for any other team than the Cavs, their owner has a slave owner mentality, Lebron you are stupid, go to college, you need it.
If he doesn't win a title in Cleveland the only thing he'll be remembered for is The Decision and the fact that he had to latch on to Dwyane Wade to win championships. He better win in Cleveland.
McRoberts and Granger. Though I suppose it's possible we could let them out of their commitments if we so chose
Lebron spoke to his family and they all wanted to stay in Miami, he left Miami because his leech sucking friends didn't like how the Heat treated them.
Sure, but then I hope we boo the crap out of him his first bucket. It isnt personal now, but anyone wearing opposing colors....is the enemy. Basketball and life are two different things. Wish him the best of luck in the latter.
The fact Gilbert had to wait for Lebron to show interest in returning and then actually return, in order to take the letter down and show remorse/apologize, really shows how sincere that "apology" really is.
What does any of that accomplish, exactly? Let's act classy. Like a champion. We're not a loser organization. Anything otherwise, would be unbecoming of a franchise that has been first-class for the past decade.
