Can still get him. Have $10 mil in space and will clear more once Wade's cap hold gets converted to actual salary. Let's say Wade starts at $13 million. That's $17 million in space. More than enough for Lance and to resign Bird and one or two other guys
I'm OK with McRoberts. I am not a fan of Granger, I'd rather retain Lewis, and they have got to play Ennis.
Deng is a nice signing. REALLY can't bring myself to want Lance. I know he would make us exponentially better...but he is such a punk
Get Lance, Boozer, and Jameer to man the 1 until Napier is ready, whenever that is. Re-sign our own guys. Call it an offseason.
He is a punk, but at least he's an on the court punk. I don't want his level of antics but this team -has- been lacking attitude.
@EthanJSkolnick 27m Heat's strategy is clear: They're trying to get as many guys (including their own) to take 2 year deals as they can, clear room for 2016.
Ethan J. Skolnick @EthanJSkolnick 23mTo my last tweet, the holdup on Wade & Haslem is about years, not money.
@EthanJSkolnick 18m No way to recover from losing LeBron James. But the South Florida community will really like Luol Deng.
@AlbertRandom1 4m No. Cavs renounced Deng to free up space for LeBron. @BlakeElmore1 can't they do S&T with Cleveland for Deng? They have his bird rights, no?
He was traded to Pelicans as part of Houston's ill fated Melo/Bosh courtship. But he is a FA next year I believe
Can't do anything more really till we finalize Wade/Haslem and convert their massive cap holds to actual salary Also need to be careful because as a cap space team now we can only use room exception, not Bird Rights to exceed cap
So next on the list have to be Wade and Haslem. Really interested to see how much per year Wade gets because it greatly impacts what else we can add.
I believe it did. They had to make both the Asik and Deng moves to offer Bosh the max, which they did
@AlbertRandom1 2m Lots of questions about the hard cap. If Heat uses cap space, there would be no hard cap.
It isn't an official trade yet as far as I can find, though you may be right as this is two days old I can't find any official details on a trade being completed. http://probasketballtalk.nbcsports....pelicans-which-could-lead-to-omer-asik-trade/
I love the Deng contract. Didn't budge on money, and the contract length is just right; get that money off the books just when it's time to sign them all at a discount again. Also, Skolnick reports the Heat are trying to re-sign Birdman tonight. I think it is a foregone conclusion. You're relying on what-ifs. That doesn't enhance your position, it means you're looking for caveats. We're discussing potential basketball happenings 11 months from now. All we have to go on is the paper matchups. On paper, the west is going to win the next championship. That's all that's being said. On paper.
That is fair. I agree with -that- The game is played on the court though so I can't agree to saying there is a 0% chance the East loses though. I still think we would match up fairly well with a team like OKC or even Houston. A lot of moving parts still as well.
@EthanJSkolnick 9m The Heat, to my understanding haven't ruled out returns of Chalmers, Jones, Oden, Lewis or even Beasley. Trying to close Andersen tonight.
@AlbertRandom1 13m Would have access to $2.732M Room MLE. RT @IIWrenchII Falling under the cap prevents us from using MLE and Bi though right?
