One more time. WTF are you talking about and are you actually calling Ethan Skolnick a "company man"?

I think he thinks you are a bitter Pat Riley or something.

@EthanJSkolnick 1m You're not seeing specific figures on Heat contracts because that's all still being worked out. Depends on other numbers, and timing.

It's crazy to me that the Rockets a few days ago were very close to being arguably the most talented team in the NBA, and now they're arguably less talented than last year after losing out on Bosh and losing Parsons. Ariza was a nice get, but he's been very up and down in his career. I'd rather have Parsons.

@AlbertRandom1 1m No longer possible b/c Heat need cap space for Deng. RT @JMP1063 What would they need to do to get full MLE?

For half the cost of Parsons, Ariza is bringing better defense, a better 3 point shot, and more rebounds. Not to mention, Ariza has a better true shooting percentage, effective field goal percentage, and less turnovers.

Ariza had his best year of his career in 2009 as a Rocket. I am glad he's back. I was pissed when we let him walk.

I kept saying on here that Parsons played his last season in Houston. He may become a great player in the future, but I damn sure am not paying him $15 mil per season to find out. This move is keeping us in the free agent hunt for 2016. Dwight can opt out in 2016 if we don't add another star.

    I want Durant, damnit.

Salary wise it is much better but not talent wise IMO. You still have a shot at the West though.

You are not getting him. LOL. (besides..the Ariza deal cuts into your money)

As for the Rockets this year..I think they improved. Parsons at 15 per is ridiculous. Ariza is a better player NOW...and NOW is what matters. Rockets still need some players. They can use a scoring wing.

Morey had a rough offseason..but I think he salvaged it with Ariza and dumping Lin.

By comparison, we're losing 1 point per game. That's pretty much it. Chandler Parson's played the 7th most minutes per game in the NBA last year and statistically he's only 1 more point per game better than Ariza. Is one point per game worth the extra $7 mil per year?

No, I think it was a good move future and salary wise. Im just unsure Ariza puts up the same numbers there, plus has a more up and down career. He will be a good player for you and was worth the money savings. I don't dislike the move.

BTW...that "forever man" "shat" story that Dez talked about......

Tim Hardaway was once saved from foreclosure by Arison after he was out of the league for almost 8 years.

Udonis Haslem had his mothers funeral mostly paid for by the Heat, and Riley, Arison attended and stayed through the wake for 6 hours....while in Liberty City.

Alonzo Mourning and Tim Hardaway have jobs with the organization.

Keith Askins (a Riley favorite) has been with the Heat since his playing days and still remains there to this day.

The current GM and Capologist started as a Intern 19 years ago. The current head coach started as a Video Coord. almost 18 years ago.

These are a few of the stories that support that "shat" forever man story by Ethan Skolnick.

BTW..if you really did call Ethan Skolnick a "Company man", let me tell you that first of all, he is a regular on my show. I know him well. He works for Turner Sports, and Bleacher Report...and he is....a.....KNICKS FAN.

SO yeah..I am sure he just LOVES...Pat Riley.

We are getting him and I am blocking out all negativity when it comes to not getting him. I'm just going to keep telling myself that we're getting him and you all are just going to have to deal with it, lol.
I am not as upset as other Rockets fans about this offseason. Lin sucked. Asik was a $15 mil backup center who can't catch (rebounds like crazy though). Ariza and Parsons is a scratch. I like the guard we just drafted. I expect our young players to be much improved. We had one of the youngest teams in the NBA, if not the youngest, and we swept the NBA champs in the regular season and won 54 games (same as Heat). We'll be better next season.

Ariza at 8 is definitely better than Parsons for 15. But Houston could have had Parsons for 1, and thats a failure no matter how you slice it.

Yeah, that is why I say if you don't want to be here....leave. We care about our players as people when they put in the hard work and effort, buy into the system and play with heart. You think Gilbert gives a crap what happens to Lebron after retirement? I don't.

@AlbertRandom1 8m Don’t be confused about Boozer. If amnestied, in order to make successful partial amnesty bid, Heat would need to have cap room = to the bid

    @AlbertRandom1 8m
Boozer couldn’t choose to play for Miami if he gets amnestied either. Needs to clear amnesty waivers first. Seems unlikely.

    ‏@AlbertRandom1 2m
Buyout unlikely. Bulls need the space for Gasol, others RT @EricGontab likely that he refuses to play for a non contender or gets bought out

He might not make it to us, but its very possible that he makes it known he doesn't want to play for a crap team. If that happens...I doubt one takes him. The last thing a locker room needs is a guy who hates being there. Another contender might snatch him though.

    @AlbertRandom1 4m
"Most" is an aggressive word. I should have written "several" to be safe :).

Enough said, Lebron didn't play in either of those games so we will be fine with Bosh as the new leader.

Can't say he will produce enough to replace Lebron but I'm really excited for what I know will be a more aggressive Bosh. Portland one is really impressive because he's like....300 feet behind the three point line LOL

I mean name another PF who hits that shot without serious luck.

Another thing Lebron did out the door. Had he told us he was leaving in private...we could have renounced his cap hold.

Wade's deal gets done tomorrow and the cap hold goes away. By my rough math, I think we got like $6mil left...and can dump Cole for another 2.2.
