Anthony johnson.. Yes he's his teammate..I know, don't kill the messenger.. Another person goes on the record with Not just good superlatives, by extraordinary ones.
Training camp, kitted against grimes. Let's see what he can do in a genuine 1 - 1 against a top ten CB. It'd be great to have a rookie WR explode, being honest though I'd prefer James goes to the probowl and our line improves.
I don't see Grimes lining up opposite Landry too much. Same during the season, the top CBs will usually be lining up against Wallace or Hartline.
I agree. Which ever CB he's against will hopefully have much more league experience and some skills. I want to see what he's like against players while kitted. I really hope he is a huge surprise package for the league. I'd love to see him out perform cooks, benjamin, even Evans. It'd be awesome. Rookie receivers don't tend to go wild though. Even cordarelle Patterson and Keenan Allen took the time. I'm excited about the season.
I'm really excited about Landry. It's also telling to me that Vegas lists Landry as 33/1 odds to win the offensive rookie of the year. While those odds suck, he's a 2nd rd draft pick named amongst 19 guys listed. Apparently Vegas has heard of him and that makes me feel good.
I don't know that he'll become a star, but he's going to be a good player IMO and a guy fans love. He was one of my favorite players in the draft and I really believe he's going to make an impact quickly if given the opportunity.
I can't see it. While I think Landry can eventually become one of our starting WRs and become a fan favorite (this year), I don't see this offense as explosive enough to get Landry a ROY award this season. I see a lot of highlights this year, and hopefully a good career ahead of him, but until our Oline is solid, this offense will be mediocre.
We don't even know if this guy will get on the field and you guys are talking about rookie of the year? Lmao! Y'all need to chill, let's see what type of role he has in this offense first, maybe if he brought something to the table that our current group lacked, like say size and leaping ability, then I'd be a lot more confident in him actually getting enough opportunities to make an impact on gameday. but he really doesn't, so I'm in wait and see mode for now, if Gibson's cut before the season that bodes well for Landry.
Do you really lack so much self awareness that you, of all people, are deriding others for making predictions before games have been played? You? Really?
Plenty of guys here have talked about Landry as a candidate for ROY, a guy who by all likelihood will be our 4th or 5th receiver, won't do **** in the return game if he does end up returning kicks, and doesn't really possess any skills that the vet receivers don't already have.
I'd probably be excited about a guy like Allen Robinson, coulda had him in the 2nd, even after the first trade down. A black rookie version of Hartline? Not so much.
You are contradicting yourself. You cannot give people **** for having big expectations for one player simply because he hasn't played yet and then turn around and have big expectations for another player that hasn't played yet. Ok you can, but it makes you look even more ridiculous than normal.
FWIW I'm not predicting he will. I'm saying at those odds the return is worth the risk on an unusually pro ready WR vs the field which may be more talented but far less polished.
That's a terrible comparison IMO. It would probably take some injuries for this guy to be ROY because the Dolphins are actually pretty deep at WR, but Landry would have a chance if given the opportunity IMO. He's incredibly NFL ready.
Kid has definitely been hyped by his peers..can't wait, and it's where LB finest is wrong for shootin down the fanbase, his peers are doing the hyping..I. Think most fans wanna see it transpire.. I freakin love it..raises expectations..
Landry is being touted for his physicality and toughness, ability to box out and fight for position, does Brian Hartline come to mind when I say those things..
if he becomes a solid slot receiver in the NFL with intangibles that can inspire his teammates and fans ,regardless of the physical limitations, he will have earned his 2nd round status.
R.O.Y. BABY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I think three or four of our rookies will win R.O.Y. actually! . I joke, but Lnaary is exceptional. Vaccuum cleaner hands. (Keep Maynard away)
Pay attention...you may learn something. That being you don't have any right to tell ANYBODY what to think or get hopeful about...just waller in your own misery Sir. "You guys" are talking about rookie of the year...in response to what his TEAMMATE claimed yes...does that hurt the Jets fan deep inside you? "Y'all need to chill, let's see"...there again, speak for your own miserable self and don't bother entering into things optimistic...that gene missed you. Personally I like the kid big time. You can't teach his motor. You can't teach his hands. You can't teach his drive to succeed. I don't care if you agree or not...even if you state it or not...just don't assume to infer everybody else needs to live in the sludge with you. Must feel pretty self-satisfying for you to "lol" every time there's not-so-good news about the Dolphins. Fans wouldn't know that feeling.
You just became one of my new favorite posters. Seriously...past results are not indicative of future results in the NFL. Does it suck that we haven't had a franchise QB since Marino with year in and year out hopes? Of course it does. It kills us all inside. However do our failures in the 2000's in any way relate to our chances now? Of course not. If we are doomed...just stop watching. I can find things to be excited about. Does it mean I'm predicting a super bowl this year? Nope. But it does mean I can see bright spots like Tannehill growing and that they give us a chance to be very competitive and fun to watch.
Remember when we used to get treated with several slow motion replays of Chris Chambers catches while the officials try to figure out how he kept his feet in bounds...
Yeah but he has no special skills Pandarilla! When did an incredible ability to catch contested balls stop being a special skill in a WR?
I'd love to see him in the return game...going to have to pay for the pre-season package again this year...I'm very excited to watch him play.
There is some article in the sun sentinel the other day the depicts what he's been doing all his career in terms of work ethic, my iPad is not superseding the sentinel pay to see page..it's supposed to be a hell of an article
