Wasn't there a video of Incognito shirtless yelling out curse words at some bar or club? What's with these fat guys taking of their shirts at clubs? What does that mean or prove?

To all those who crap on posters like me for saying this guy was a piece of trash as soon as the free Hernandez hats showed up, when will you admit what a lowlife this guy is? No clue why people are SO resistant to using their intuition and believing the clues sooner.

Where there is smoke, there's fire. Remember this Pouncey thing the next time you shout down posters who are concerned about warning-signs.

Or ignore this too. lol. At least that'd be consistent.

p.s. - Fans who stick their head in the sand about stuff like this deserve what they get in a head coach like Philbin who also pretends all is well while this cancerous crap goes on

Agree with CK.. not a matter of IF Pouncey's unchecked behavior and indecency issues bite Dolphins in the ***, but WHEN... oh wait! It already has, with Pouncey helping out in the JMart stuff and getting suspended for drugs!

Maybe they just like being shirtless? Clothes can be pretty constricting! Though if I were terribly out of shape I'm not sure I'd do it.

My personal view point is that some fans crapped on Ireland during his years here because he would never take risks on players with character concerns (Dez Bryant is a great example). The mindset was "Not every player is a choir boy, talent rules all."

Well, Pouncey is certainly no choir boy, and he's one of the best players at his position. It sucks that he seems to be missing some screws, but I'll deal with it because when he's on the field he's a monster, and that's undeniable.

Yes...he has poor character...no arguing that...proven in spades.

But what good is wishing him to be off the team going to do anybody on this forum? What does it matter if you're right that he's a d-bag?

Bottom line...he's still on the team and will be started when healthy.

We have no way of holding Philbin or anybody in the organization accountable to our individual, or even collective standards. All you can do is revolt with your merchandise money.

For the record...the Hernandez related stuff was most CERTAINLY douchebaggery at its finest...definitely over the line. This club BS doesn't come close.

Pretty soon the man won't be able to fart without all the detractors calling for his head.

Entitlement? A gross display of self righteousness, lack of intellect, freakin ego so out of whack someone needs to kick their *** at some point, problem is they have always been bigger and stronger than everyone else, no one has probably ever stuck up to them..

As a dolphin fan, if I was in the club and saw one of our dudes like that, I would be embarrassed..it just isn't right, even when your 25, someone needs to tell them to GTFU....grow the bleep up.

That's another side story that's more important to me...underdeveloped musculature..pitiful for a pro athlete at this stage..

Party all the time, nonos wanna get up and work out, eat late nite binges to deal with drunkeness and hunger...baaaad combination...priorities out of whack, relying on birth given talent.

I think where some negativity comes from is the kind of example he is setting for other players, you don't want someone corrupting your team values..now he's young so I'm not all about getting rid of him, like GM said, he hasn't been convicted of any crimes, nor has he done things with malicious intent, that we know of, so I'm willing to see if he can get himself together and at least understand that some of his behavioral tendencies are gonna lead to him getting him in trouble and tarnishing our franchises public perception..

In a club with your shirt off at 5 am hammered, come on man..get your sh@& together, if he can't figure out that he needs to conduct himself better, with the teams Image in mind, then he can gtfo.

While this part is true, the big problem for me is the guys character issues, combined with his presence in the locker room. Every year, you've got younger guys coming into the locker room, guys along that OL, and at other positions that are going to look up to guys like him being a veteran. He sends the textbook definition of the wrong message to these kids coming up. Look at Martin... He could have developed into a good offensive lineman, we're not going to find out now because he fell in line with Pouncey's and Cogs' way of life in the NFL. That's not the example you should want being set in our locker room.

Now, take Juwaun James and Billy Turner for example... they are sitting there with that OL group now, the veteran, and only returning starter from last years OL left on that team is Mike Pouncey. He's the guy that new guys are going to look up to for how things are getting done in and around that Miami locker room, and around life in the NFL in general. I sure hope there's some other positive influences in there. I hope Branden Albert can step up and mentor these young kids, because I sure as hell don't want Pouncey doing it. On the field, sure, but lets not forget, this is a game. On the field results aren't more important than the lives of these young men. Pouncey is a professional athlete now. It's a shame he doesn't realize that and act like it, just imagine how much better he could be if he did, and how much better that OL group could become with these two young guys we just drafted hopefully being shown to do things the right way, not the Pouncey way.

That's what I fear the most with Pouncey here right now, what effect is he going to have on these new guys. His attitude, and off field distractions, are a cancer for this locker room. He needs to grow up. I'm not saying he can't go out and party during the offseason, but from the whole Martin thing and other stories about him, we know he's into more than that, and we know its more than during the offseason. Just my opinion here, but if he doesn't start acting more like a professional, I doubt we see him here next year.

Deej......normally I'm with you. But being in the club, VIP with beautiful women around you on South Beach to a 21-25 year old is not something Pouncey had to "usher" them too. Many of these cats do it in college. Hell, I went to school in Tallahassee ans Nole players did it. Hell, this type of behavior is precisely why a lot of these guys are professional athletes in the first place. The Ryan Tannehills and Luke Keuchlys of the world are in the stark minority When I was a young professional that's what me and my friends liked to do. We FINALLY got a little bit of money. We wanted to go drink, hang out, and be VIP. Work hard. Play hard.

One thing that hasn't been touched on enough is Joe Philbin's BS spiel of professionalism. That is all he talks about.

It's odd because he took hard lines with guys like Chad Johnson, Vontae Davis, Karlos Dansby, Randy Starks etc. It's almost as if he believes that the OL is a different animal altogether.

My point is that he just allows these guys to run around.

I'm not blaming him for Pouncey's misgivings. That's Mike's fault. I blame Philbin for continuing to allow the OL to be animals. If anything, those guys should know they're under a microscope and play it closer to the vest than anyone else.

Randy Starks is in Europe with his family...Pouncey is tearing up the club...

I think this is possible. I have yet to see much good info on what his procedure actually was. He is 2 weeks out of surgery, out and about with no crutches, someone else started a thread saying they met pouncey and he was not limping/crutches/seemed to move just fine. He could be back for the first week which would be great.

Randy Starks is 30.....Pouncey is 24.

And what do you want Philbin to do, suspend Pouncey for going to the nightclub? See how that works out in Free Agency for you.

Joe Philbin isn't a babysitter. He's not going to tell you where you can and can't go on your own time. Your a professional athlete, it's your job to stay out of trouble.

Only speaking for myself, but I crapped all over Ireland because he clearly drafted these guys like Phillip Merling, Pouncey, etc. under the assumption they were character guys, while passing on guys, sometimes guys that had more talent and upside. I don't think he was taking risks on guys like Pouncey, I think he probably thought Pouncey was a "high character guy". It's just another example of how flawed his evaluation process was and why Jeff Ireland was really bad at his job. And also why this organization will be recovering from his tenure for years to come.

That's not what I'm asking him to do at all. You didn't get it.

What I'm saying is that Joe Philbin takes a hard stance on players being professionals. He talks about it in every single press conference. I'm not asking Joe Philbin to tell Mike Pouncey what to do on his own time, or to babysit, follow him around, etc.

I'm asking that Philbin stop BS'ing us with this ideal that he says he's holding players to. Because he's not. Well, he holds it for some, but not for others.

You can't have a locker room, or have people/players believe in you if you don't hold yourself accountable to forcing the bylaws you hold for your players.

And I get it. Mike Pouncey is younger, but again, you completely missed the point. Joe Philbin cracks down on Randy Starks, but Randy is the guy being a professional. Rather, maybe Randy is being a professional because Philbin cracked down on him. Yet, Pouncey is allowed to have free reign.

Oh I'm not arguing Ireland's problems with building a team, I'm just saying that this is why character issues sometimes sway teams from drafting certain players. For better or for worse. "Be careful what you wish for" kind of thing.

I would think that the situations are different. Randy Starks shot a finger at the sidelines (not professional) to the coaching staff (presumably) and had some words behind the scene within the facility. Not to mention Starks skipped some OTAs, etc that year. All of that happens on the football field which is Philbin's "Domain." Pouncey's activities are either A) Before he got to Miami or B) away from the facility. In my opinion, its apples and oranges. And, I don't know that much about a "crackdown." Last I checked Starks was the guy who got the contract and stayed and not Soliai.

once again bro, this isn't rocket science, he promoted his presense at a club, it's now 5 am, you and your boys are shirtless, your hammered, your setting yourself up for folks to target you, your a pro athlete, shouldn't there be little different expectation with the way you carry yourself in public, am I to conservative in this regard without giving up your right to party?

    I don't think so.

"Promoted"? The guy is famous and recognizable, he's going to be a target regardless. Jason Taylor was attacked with a knife on a random road before.

I'm not saying Pouncey isn't a chucklehead. He is absolutely a chucklehead and I hope we have a plan for moving on from him, but he didn't do anything wrong this time.

Personally I believe the more you're compensated (e.g. millions and millions of dollars) the more reasonable it is to expect that compensation to be tied to certain demands on your lifestyle. So no I don't see your viewpoint as conservative at all. Many people would kill to make that kind of money to play a game and they certainly wouldn't mind giving up being a club rat to do it.

Wah wah wah, Pouncey makes millions of dollars and we don't!!!

Try doing what he does, or being as good as he is at, anything. And then tell me what you think of people who try and tear you down and deny you your basic freedoms because you're so good at what you do.

The Steelers are a no nonsense organization and they just made Pouncey one of the highest paid linemen in the league. Miami would be wise to do the same.

Honestly Deej, its a really good question. I think we talk about it every year a high profile athlete gets in trouble. Should athletes be considered role models? They are compensated for what they do with a ball and their feet, but somehow that transitions into being role models for humanity. I don't think the sports world as a whole has an answer for it. I think its pretty ambitious to expect that from 20 somethings who really are for the most part removed from reality once someone identifies they have talent, so I guess that's why I have the attitude I do towards them doing what 20 somethings would do. But then again, I can see where you are coming from on the professional tip. If you are making this money to be the best in the world at something you should be Bruce Lee/Jerry Rice about it and dedicate yourself to that. Me personally, I prefer the latter being potty trained at gunpoint by two Army parents. But I don't hold my friends and those around me to those same standards because I realize they might have a completely different set of priorities.

In general response to comments on compenstation: I don't agree that your expectations on/off the field should be proportionate to your compensation. Your compensation should be proportionate to the worth of the service you provide and associated with the proficiency with which you provide that service. NFL dollars going into the players pockets aren't coming from Habitat for Humanity, so I don't see why I have to EXPECT them to act differently because they get paid more than me. Moral discretion should be completely independent of compensation. Because a teacher makes crap doesn't mean they should be given more leeway to rape, pillage, and plunder. What I will say is, these guys should realize they are in highly visible positions and represent a Global Brand and that "Conduct Unbecoming" relates directly to dollar loss/dollar gain. If they so choose to jeopardize that, they jeopardize their own earning potential and as owner, I should have the flexibility to address that monetarily.

Expecting rich people to act rationally, maturely, and with the collective in mind makes for a great bedtime story though.

I do. I was the 7th best Sales Rep in my company in 2013, and I haven't been outside the Top 10 in the past 7 years. So, ya. I am really good at what I do. And there is a much higher standard held for me when I'm outside at events. That comes with promotions and recognition. That's life.

Honestly I hate the argument for or against this. It's completely useless for me.

It's about just common practice and how the world works. Perception is reality. Take anyone in the world, place him in a club with his shirt off, 5a, with a background bullying, drug suspicions, etc. Are you going to question it? Second, as an employer are you going to think, what in the hell, again??

Jesus. We can't all be this naive can we?

Starks skipped OTA's because he didn't want to be franchised. Thus, the coaching staff started Odrick in favor of him.

I'd say Pouncey's actions during the season with "bullying scandal" are very much within the domain.

But again, Philbin talks about being a professional away from the field in every single press conference. So, he presumes to care about that. Obviously he doesn't. And that's my issue. The guy just says words that have absolutely no hard stance behind them.

Generally speaking its the people that you think are your friends who try to do that, also those that are simply jealous. Be smart and stay away from those people.

Can you describe "basic freedoms?" The NFL has regular meetings regarding the troubles and pitfalls for young millionaire athletes. In seems those meetings are beneficial to most that attend but for some it just doesn't seem to sink in. To that small percentage of athletes that ignore the message, nothing but trouble seems to follow. Again generally speaking, anyone partying till 4:30 AM will be in some sort of trouble.

Do the chances increase of Something bad happening when your a million dollar famous athlete who's in a club partying at 5 am shirtless?

Isn't that all were saying here, just make some better decisions so your not putting yourself into a higher risk braket.?

Not just for yourself, but the image of your team, and so your available for your teammates.

WADR being 7th at your company doesn't even compare with Pouncey, he's one of the 7 best at what he does, on the planet.
