From what I'm seeing, Hamilton is about as ready to contribute as he's going to be. He's a very clean player. He knows what he is and does what he is supposed to do. He seems to know exactly which spots on the floor are his and he exploits opportunities when they present. He catches passes and finishes at the rim without losing the ball or being awkward on the dribble. He runs the floor and hustles for a big man and that's what the Heat require.

He's definitely a presence around the rim purely because of his size and athletic ability, but he's not special that way and that's understood. He's a rebound presence again because of the size and athletic ability, but he's not special that way either. His shot and his hustle are both unique and they're both especially well suited for the Heat's style of play...so I'm not sure I see the point in excluding him in 2014-15.

I'm sure we'll hear more drips about You Know Who over time.

But he doesn't matter anymore. He didn't want to be here, so he's not here. I care about the guys who want to be here and continue this ride.

And I think there's absolutely no evidence of that, personally.

I mean...how do we HONESTLY know that it wasn't the complete other way around? That is how these entourage situations tend to work. All the lackeys take their cues from the star and then feed his own opinion back to him, affirming it. That's how these stars can end up so isolated from reality. How the hell do we know that LeBron wasn't already wanting to go back to Cleveland and finish his career there, and all the people around him were just taking their cues from him and supporting his opinion because that's what lackeys do?

EDIT: "Absolutely no evidence" probably exaggerating. Personally I don't see any convincing evidence. I don't see any evidence that passes the test of objectivity.

Nothing is being painted in any way. All of these things being reported NOW were reported THEN. This is just corroboration.

    I did let it go.

How do we know this? Because all of these people talk. A LOT. TO EVERYBODY.

Of course, His agent Rich Paul made it his mission in life to bring him back to Cleveland. That is all the evidence you needed about his "boys" wanting CLE.

Based on what I have seen of LeBron James over the years, the idea of him being dominated by ANYONE's mindset other than his own...is borderline absurd.

His boys wanted to go back to Cleveland because he wanted to go back to Cleveland. I'm sure his mom wanted nothing to do with it, especially since when they left a bunch of Cleveland sh-tbags even went so far as to make jokes about her. His wife probably had a preference for Miami but normal marriage dynamics come into play which means first and foremost she probably supports him and what he wants.

Yet this is turning into LeBron having picked his boys over his wife and mom. No. LeBron made a rational and well thought out move. That's his M.O. That's been his M.O. for a long time. Try pretending the guy isn't smart or self-motivated if you like but I think anyone doing so is denying the reality that's right in front of their face.

Or...they were behaving like a team that had no leverage because, well, they truly really didn't have any. What else were they supposed to do while they waited for him to decide?

It fine. My experience with the situation is different.

I had my own source confirm he had committed to Miami, snother person tell me he'd been in touch with our staff all offseason, had another with their own source here independently confirm Lebron had committed to Miami as well.

This along with what Section posted makes me personally feel no doubt in my mind. My belief started as "Maybe my own source was wrong" but as more comes out through other people I trust that matches my initial info...I just can't disregard it.

It would be like if your own NFL sources told you something, you disregarded it as untrue and then found out that other people who do what you do had been told the same thing as you by different people.

My personal source is second hand but I know for fact it comes directly from within the Heat due to my line of work.

I understand the skepticism but on my end I just have no doubts

Yes I'm sure his boys including Rich Paul made it a point to echo LeBron's sentiments, taking their cue from him.

The Heat aren't exactly a fast break team anymore, and will be even less without LeBron. Against the Spurs, they were the ones who wanted to run as they didn't want to get stuck playing a half-court game.

I'm not doing that. I am just explaining the dynamics.

I think you have this picture of a bunch of idiots just hanging out with Lebron. No. Mav Carter and Rich Paul are multi-millionaire power brokers. I am explaining the intrigue and how interesting this saga was.

Maybe we misunderstand eachother then. I could care less about Lebron and his cronies. My entire gripe is about how he led the organization on in a very unprofessional way. I just tend to believe the stuff about hid pals as well. Also about his wife wanting to be here, you dony open up a business in a city you're planning to leave in a few short months.

This is not accurate. Lebron ultimately makes his own decision. But with a finger on the scale, wonders can happen.

I get the sense that you think these guys are Lackeys. They are not. Paul and Carter..again..are real power brokers gaining power in the NBA.

and again..the Miami Heat are not whining about this. This is coming from people that are tracing their info and going back on their sourcing.

To each their own. I see a lot of "facts" that can be objectively stripped to the point where they're inert, and completely interpretive based on agenda.

Anyway. Jabari Parker is really good at basketball. Apropos of nothing. I was watching his head to head versus Andrew Wiggins.

I think James Ennis is up there with those guys though. Call me crazy. The quality I'm seeing from him on the court is pretty close to what I'm seeing from Parker and Wiggins.

I will be buying a James Ennis jersey when he has an official number on the squad. I love his game. The pure athleticism, the understanding of team basketball, not forcing shots, his dedication to become a great defender.

You aren't crazy, he had all the talent of a lottery pick coming out. You don't just go overseas and win a title while nearly being MVP (Their voting system is stupid, look it up, most agree that if it was NBA style he would have won) in your first year of pro ball without having serious talent.

Btw another chance to see he and Napier at 8:30 tonight.

Definitely. Oden will never be the guy who was supposed to be a star, but if he can be a force on the boards (and with his size why not) and just provide a tiny bit offensively he will be huge for us.

It was encouraging that on a few of his dunks last season he looked like he had some legitimate explosion back in those legs.

Serious question but could the Heat potentially be done with free agency if they just reclaim Greg Oden and Michael Beasley?

We're sitting here talking about 'upside' with a guy like Xavier Henry but it would seem to me that Michael Beasley has more of that upside if he gets his sh-t together off the field which everyone keeps swearing he has.

Possiblt but I can't see us not using the extra cap room we will have by renouncing Allen and Battier. Plus like you said before....who is our backup SG?

Plus we may still trade a guy like Cole to open up that 2.2 million. Maybe we trade for someone. Who knows.

    Can Beasley play SG?

I'd be all for bringing both of those guys back, but it doesn't seem like Spo is a big fan of Beas. You cannot discount his ability to score though, and his metrics were actually very good last year.

No way IMO. He is a SF/PF. He would get torched by 2 guards.

I missed Parker playing yesterday, but he was real good vs the Cavs.

I am happy for Bennett too that he is playing well so far in summer league. Hopefully it continues even if he isn't getting 30+ minutes a night like he is in SL.

LeBatard's syndication had nothing to do with LeBron. People had been trying to syndicate him for a long time. Guys like Michael Wallce, however, might have a tough time staying on the national scene now that the Heat are not the Heatles, and that's too bad because I like Wallace.

Shawn Marion, Turner or Humphries would be a nice get at this point, barring any more major moves. Crawford can dish, if you need to trade Cole.

But, lord, Stuckey or Fredette would be dead awful. That's close to the bottom of the barrel right there.

    Maybe S&T for Cole...or Chalmers.

They need Ennis to develop because at this point he's the only real quick, explosive athlete on the roster. They're going to need him to create off the bounce and get into the lane with some consistency.

As it stands this group looks to be a slow-tempo grind-you-down team that makes its living on defense, like the Bulls of the past few years, or even the Pacers. Question is whether they'll need that real anchor big man to protect the rim and crash the boards like mad (like a Noah or Hibbert). It's going to be interesting. Pretty good test for Spo and Wade, imo.

That's just it; with Oden's size and physical gifts, all he has to be is fully healthy so that he can recover a certain amount of athleticism, in order to be significantly good for us.

At this point your really mostly looking for end of the bench guys, or guys that can every one in a while give you a spark. I'd be fine with Stuckey or Fredette. Jimmer in particular might have a little bit of upside, but at the very least he can shoot the ball. I'd prefer Crawford or Humphries, but I wouldn't be upset with any of those pickups.
