so youre saying that Flozel Adams is more important than Terrell Owens? Matt Light more than Randy Moss? I hardly think that the loss of an offensive lineman should change how dominant a WR can be. Receivers are either great, or they aren't. It doesn't take a genius to know that Terrell Owens will be open whenever he wants to be. If he knows he has less time to get open. He will get open faster. It's what he does. The offense can adjust to having less time. But can an offense adjust when the opposing team no longer respects an aspect of your game that is now missing? I think not.
Well, I can't say being told my perspective is "wrong" gets this off on a good foot. lol. Nonetheless, I'll say this much: 1) I would agree if I were saying that getting rid of the entire offensive line was not as bad as getting rid of Ginn. That's not what I would want, though. I am talking about surviving the dropoff from one O-lineman to his back up on an O-line of five people, versus surviving the dropioff between our #1 Deep Threat and our #2 Deep Threat. 2) I do not even remotely think any receiver is fast enough to negate the need for an O-line. 3) My point issn't that the offense should throw to Ginn on every play. The point is that since our bread-and-butter will be running the ball, it's critical that defenses cannot commit 80% of their personnel and effort to stopping it or I don;t care how good the O-line and Ronnie are, we cannot run through a brick wall of 8 or 9 defenders. Wilford doesn;t scare anyone. Hagan is not going to cause defenses to stay eep. Only Ted commands any res[ect that way when he steps on the field. So I am just saying that his presence helps the running game. Also, when the running game prospers, it allows for the occasional deep ball to Ted over the run-minded defense. I don't expect, nor recommend, constantly passing to Ted. Doing so occasionally, however, is important. Ideally, I would love to see all the players getting the ball, of course. 4) In fact, it would take better blocking for longer to throw Ted a deep ball than to involve Fasano, Ronnie Brown, Wilford, etc on shorter (quicker) routes. I believe the O-line will be able to block long nough to let WR's run their routes. So, the difference between our opinions is that i don't think the O-line would be in trouble if we lost of those guys, but I believe our receiving corps would be badly hobbled without a deep threat. 5) Jake Long, our left tackle, is more critical to giving our receivers time than Samson or Vernon, imo. I'd be more apt to say jake's performance is critical to our success. But, he's a rookie and I am sure he'll struggle a bit anyways. At the end of the day, this is not a great team yet. We really cannot afford to lose anyone, whether along the Offensive line or our deep threat. All things being eual, though, I just feel that Ted does something to opposing defenses that is irreplaceable with our current roster.
Huh? how did Ginn go from 29 to 24 in one post? and you added to Ronnie and he lost a point? You also added six to Carey
^haha and vernon carey went up 6 pts... but that gives a good idea, maybe now that its at the final 4 and there are so many points, each vote should count for 5 pts instead of 1...
Nope. A true survivor game goes all the way to the end without change. No declaring a winner early or accelerating the voting process. No reason to hurry. Not training camp yet... Ted Ginn Jr. [28] + Ronnie Brown [114] Samson Satele [57] - Vernon Carey [46]
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Ted Ginn Jr. [30] + Ronnie Brown [115] - Samson Satele [55] Vernon Carey [45]
Correct Count This is NOT a vote Ted Ginn Jr. [30] Ronnie Brown [117] Samson Satele [55] Vernon Carey [43]
Ted Ginn Jr. [29] - Ronnie Brown [119] + Samson Satele [55] Vernon Carey [43] I do not think this is ever going to end
Ted Ginn Jr. [28] - Ronnie Brown [119] Samson Satele [56]+ Vernon Carey [43] ....just like last years 1-15 Dolphins team, most players have quit because they know the outcome of the game!
