    He should. IMO he looked DONE last season.

    The again, I have to say that I thought the same of Haslem.

    Think about that; let it sink in for a minute. Soak it in.

    What athlete can you think of who sacrifices—GIVES BACK TO A PROFIT-MAKING ENTERPRISE—TWENTY-NINE MILLION DOLLARS?!

    For the sake of the concept of "TEAM".

    Could you EVER see Carmelo Anthony doing that? Kobe Bryant?

    I could definitely see Carmelo doing that...

    Over a 29yr contract.

    True Story...

    Wade had extreme knee pain in the 12' playoffs vs. the Pacers....during game 3. (one of his worst games ever).

    Wade is super religious and he is afraid of needles and uses the "god excuse" for not taking them.

    Well..before Game 4, he took a knee drain in the morning, with a needle the size of a ruler.

    Of course..he then goes supernova in Games 4 & 5 with a 41 point explosion in Game 6 to close out the Pacers.

    No doubt, that is a special person that does that. Forget Carmelo or Kobe, you won't see that kind of commitment from almost any player in almost any sport.

    I think the Heat organization should also be given a little bit of credit though because I'm sure there is no doubt in Wade's mind that he will be taken care of for life by the Heat.

    Right.

    There has to be trust. For instance, no player would ever trust Dan Gilbert to stand by someone like that, nor to honor a "gentleman's agreement" that extends beyond a guy's playing days.

    Riley earns that trust.

    I'm not salty about it at all. I believe he made a poor basketball decision. But it was his decision to make. My feeling is that in the long run it will hurt his legacy as a potential GOAT more than anything else. That he gave up the best chance to go to 6 or 7 finals in a row (and possibly win a couple more titles among those) for the chance to hang with his buddies in practice and on the team plane. (I don't really believe that it was about family or home since it's been widely reported that his family wanted to stay here). IMO the Heat have a better chance than Cleveland of making the finals these next two seasons. I also don't believe any person is more likely than Riley to build another potential dynasty after the 2016 FA period. So I see his decision hurting his legacy far more than the Heat's. It's not the decision that I would have made, but frankly I've made more than my share of poor decisions so I'm not going to blast a guy who's made far more great decisions than I have. I don't bear him any ill-will. I loved watching him play for Miami and while I was disappointed when he left, that disappointment was very short-lived (an hour or two at most). I've been a Heat fan from their inception and I have many favorite Heat players. Lebron was moving up the ranks, but had not reached the top ranks yet. In fact, when I was still assuming that he would return (during this year's playoffs), I told a friend that I could envision Lebron potentially moving into the top 3 someday b/c of how much I was enjoying watching him play. I no longer foresee that happening, but the point is that since he wasn't on that level yet, there wasn't much sting to his leaving. The primary sting was that it lowered the quality of Miami's team. But since he went to a team that I believe is still inferior to Miami's, I don't see it hurting Miami's overall odds that much (at least at coming out of the East, although it does lessen the Heat's championship odds). In the end I just believe he made a decision he had every right to make. If he believes he'll be happier hanging with his buddies rather than winning championships, so be it.

    If they add Love they won't need anyone. Yeah its not a guarantee that they win a title every year (something the Heat found out) but it gives Lebron a very legit chance for the next 4 or 5 seasons. Im not sure what you want the Cavs or Lebron to do, you can't put together a team like the Heat did all the time. Your criticism of Cleveland is pretty silly considering that Lebron left to go there, obviously someone will go there.

    If the Cav's trade Bennett, and Wiggins for Love, are they the consensus #1 seed? Can Blatt coach? I'm not familiar with him.
    Or will LeBron do the coaching?

    What Wade has done is respectable but its not horrible that guys like Kobe or Melo don't take discounts, they aren't to be blasted because they won't give billionaire owners a discount, I don't fault Wade at all but I don't place someone like him over other players that took Max deals. Also, we know that Wade is more than likely getting all of the money long term and he will certainly be working for the Heat for the rest of his life so he's not exactly giving up that much.

    I don't buy the wife really wanted to stay...obviously she knew what Lebron had been thinking in regards to a possible return. The tweet of Akron on the map with a heart and "the countdown is real" means she wasn't really fighting it.

    Why is everyone on twitter so shocked that Dwight Howard said Parsons leaving won't affect Houston at all? It's the truth, and exactly the same thing i said.

    - espn.com

    The Dwight that i saw in the playoffs is the Dwight i expect to see all season long. That 17-18 ppg s**t isn't going to get it done, Dwight. It's time to show what Olajuwon has taught you. We're bringing in defensive players with attitude and re-signing our young 3 point shooters.

    ‏@AlbertRandom1 37m Assuming Haslem signed for the Room MLE, the Heat are essentially now out of cap space, relegated now only to exceptions.

    @AlbertRandom1 38m
    If Chris Bosh does not take a maximum contract now, the Heat will have squandered room.

    @AlbertRandom1 37m
    The Heat will now only have the minimum salary exception (and trades) with which to bring in outside players.

    @AlbertRandom1 31m
    The Heat no longer has any trade exceptions RT @j_composition How much is the trade exception ?

    @AlbertRandom1 30m
    Part will be used by incumbent Heat players (Bosh, Napier, Birdman, Haslem) and min exception RT @Fp_Benz what about the 14mil after that?

    @AlbertRandom1 25m
    Not sure why you assume Heat couldn’t RT @MiamiMakaveli If Cavs pull off Love trade, how is it they could afford 3 max deals and not us?

    @AlbertRandom1 25m
    Yes. RT @FrankieFromDade is Norris Cole currently under contract with the Heat?

    @AlbertRandom1 17m
    Including Bosh’s cap hold, Heat team salary was $62.6M vs. $63.1M cap. Room MLE is an exception… RT @mariocorrea1214 can u explain please?

    ‏@AlbertRandom1 17m
    … that allows Heat to exceed the cap. If Bosh takes less than max, Room MLE will therefore have eaten up cap space

    @AlbertRandom1 15m
    Cap space, hard cap scenarios meant to bring in other players RT @MiamiMakaveli I thought cap space, hard cap were big part of limitations.

    @AlbertRandom1 11m
    2015-16 cap, by the way, is currently projected at $66.3M. Including options and eventual signings, Heat should currently be at roughly $70M

    @AlbertRandom1 10m
    Bird rights (Bosh, Birdman), first round pick (Napier), Room MLE (Haslem), minimum salary RT @cashira0425 What are the exceptions?

    @AlbertRandom1 2m
    His cap hold was too high. RT @shgieb @cashira0425 why didn't they retain Bird rights on Ray Allen? Just in case

    You really used LEBRON as your example?

    So as long as there are other max players that tumbled out of their mims in Northeast Ohio....then the Cavs are set baby!

    Minny will obviously ask for Wiggins ($5 mil), plus Tristan Thomspson ($5 mil) because they need to replace Love at PF and Waiters ($4 mil), plus picks. That would work money wise for Love ($15.8 mil). Miny are light at SG and SF. They are set with Pekovic and Dieng at C, and at PG with Rubio, Shved, Lavine, and Barrea.

    They have him and Irving, they don't need to lure a "big three" they already have 2. I do think Love would commit long term, that would give them three, its not that far fetched. 2 players (Lebron and Irving) that could very well be elsewhere are staying there long term, I'm not sure what you're point is other than you hate that Lebron left and are bitter. And if Love doesn't get there then Wiggins is probably the 3rd and they draft young players to play defense and fill roles. They actually have a bright future, I'm not sure what you're getting at with the hate, they scooped Riley and the Heat, sometimes someone outdoes you and you have to regroup and move on.

    I think league would approve trading draft rights to Wiggins although his trade value is $0 without the contract. In any case, I don't think teams will fret over the wait once they have the agreement.

    Players union doesn't want it because the. You get top heavy teams and the little guys don't eat. The way they have it now it forces you to have some mid level players (I.e. The mid level exceptions, bi annual exceptions etc)

    Not true. It's actually easier to trade the player before he's signed. You trade the rights to the player and he assumes the salary of the nba slot system. It's not really a negotiation anymore for nba rookies.

    History is certainly on your side, but a bucking of the trend is on the way. Players WANT to play with LeBron bad enough that the location becomes secondary. Love I believe would resign if traded there...now, a guy like Durant? Never happen.

    I don't think he understand your argument, which I think is, it is practically impossible to resign 3 max players, unless there are significant discounts in which case they are not max players. He seems take such resigning as granted, arguing that Love, Lebron and Irving are locks to resign after 2 years, and is talking about the 4th max player.
