I really don't see the Knicks as hated b/c frankly they've been irrelevant for a long time now. And while I'm sure that other cities may hate NY, the fact is that much of the media has ties there. In the time leading up to the decision I saw excitement in the reports that Lebron would go to NY or Chicago. I never saw that in any report about Miami. The fact is that Lebron's arrival made the local media in Miami a lot of money. You didn't see Sect bashing Miami for bringing in Lebron and you would have seen the same from the largest media in the country.
I actually don't see much racist commentary against Miami on NFL boards. I think it's b/c they're (it saddens me to say) irrelevant.

Anywhere with a high concentration of both Italians and Irish is racist as can be. They of out of their way to be racist and xenophobic, unlike others who are only racist when they are affected in some way. These guys are always simmering about that ****. Which I get, but don't really understand. I get it because, with the white skin, they could pass and be seen by anglos as equals. So they hate the ethnic part of themselves that they see in others, like blacks and hispanics, and in the last 30 years, "Arabs." But they are both part of peoples that were mercilessly shat upon when all they tried to do as immigrants was work and survive at first, and thrive later; I experienced that as one of the first wave of Cuban refugees in Miami.
