I never claimed otherwise. I was certainly pissed for a few days about how he left.

And not sure what I'm grasping for beyond clarification. NOBODY usually means just that, I didn't even mention a consensus.

Edit: Yea, I am probably baiting Schmoo, but not to actually get in argument with him and mean to offend, just poking the bear. It's been fun to see him go back and forth with Fin-O and I wanted more.

fair enough - I was just saying comparing the 2 was a bit like apples and oranges. 1 was a reasonable justification for the happenings, true or not, and the other was a fair (and imo true) opinion based on observation.

People were angry about the Heat pep rally when it was announced, before LeBron said a word. That's all ex post facto justification.

If there is a Cavs pep rally, let's criticize it. You're furious people aren't criticizing Cavs fans for something that has nothing to do with them.

ESPN does a good job covering college football and their coverage of the NFL is also ok. ESPN's coverage of the NBA is awful, just look at the day that the second Lebron decision came in on Sportscenter and Brian Windbag, Broussard and Marc Stein had no idea what was going on and looked clueless. I'm not even going to talk about the embarrassingly awful NBA countdown show. Mike Wilbon and Bill Simmons, two biased homers with no objectivity, have no business covering the NBA.

Please don't invent my viewpoint for me, thanks.

I'm amused by the hypocrisy of the sports media and the country at large. We're simply seeing illustrations of that hypocrisy in action, whether it's due to reactions caused by a billboard or non-reactions caused by similar events.

The whole point here is that there's some giant rampaging hypocrisy going on, and the lack of self-awareness is hugely amusing. Many lulz are had.

You called the Heat thing a pep rally. Is this a pep rally? Is this about the Cavs or basketball? That's the main issue. There are PLENTY of other ways to compare the media coverage and find hypocrisy. This is a poor example.

For instance - letting the Heat dangle for 2 weeks making moves assuming he'll be there and then doing some huge showy Decision without letting them know? When he did that to Cleveland he was a villain - now he's a saint. I totally get it. I think the Heat should be pissed about that. Not returning texts / calls. Leaking every meeting with the Heat before he decided, showing up places with Wade at the camps, flying to Miami. I thought he led Heat fans on and they should be pissed.

I don't find this Akron event and the pep rally comparable.

The more I think about it, I believe the suspension had more to do with preventing anything LeBatard would have done today on his show at the rally than actually punishing him for the billboards. As a consolation, they get to show LeBron's people how they had his back by punishing LeBatard, but I think it was more of a preventative matter. Supposedly, Mike Ryan was going to be in Akron today as a correspondent from the rally.

On a side note, speaking strictly as a basketball fan (who was always a LeBron fan even before Miami), and not a bitter Heat fan, it will be pretty fun to see Love hitting LeBron with his signature outlet passes. That may lead to LeBron trying to leak out earlier, but nevertheless they will be exciting plays.

Decent article contextualizing what the Cavs have put together.

    http://sports.yahoo.com/blogs/nba-b...ebron-james-gets-what-he-wants-183153111.html

I think that as we go along you'll see that importing these super teams isn't necessarily enough, that what the Heat did with their microwave dynasty was actually unique. As Devine says, this isn't to be compared with what the Heat did in 2010 bringing together three legit Top 10 NBA players who impact the game hugely on both ends of the floor. Even if James re-commits himself on defense the two stars they're surrounding him with are one-way players.

This isn't the Big 3. But it's going to be very, very good. And if the coaching is right I could see it turning into a championship. I doubt it turns into three consecutive Finals appearances, let alone four.

I agree with both these points. Really thought the move benefits ESPN by appeasing LeBron and giving LeBatard added publicity (while continuing to character build him like a heel in WWE).

As as a basketball fan, that Cavs team is going to be fun to watch. Kyrie, Lebron and Love will compliment each other well.

Ethan on 790: He was legitimately frightened when he went to Cleveland in 2010 for the Heat's first game there and that the team was seriously concerned for LeBron's safety during the game. He then ran through the litany of all the other stuff Cleveland fans did in the run up to that game, which makes it incredibly ironic that they are now so bent out of shape over a few billboards

Killing the "four letter network" as Ethan calls it.

"According to ESPN there were no Heat fans prior to 2010 and nobody watched Dwyane Wade, cared about Alonzo Mourning, or had an attachment to glen Rice and Rony Seikaly"

Mike and Mike is a milquetoast show, the Turd with Colin Cowturd is universally hated and SVP is barely ever on his own damn show. LeBatard was brought in to turn that whole network around and add some spice.

I don't doubt that is how he feels, I just laugh at WHY.

If I said all ESPN analysts are a fkin joke besides Speilman and Herbstriet....what are the odds people wouldn't giggle at my agenda?

How about if I said all the national title games have been terrible..accept of course for the 02 title game. THAT one was outstanding.

    I told you the "why"

I don't think they're good radio programs. At least M&M and Cowherd. I've never heard more than 5 minutes of Van Pelt.

Even if they loved Miami they would still suck. Joe Rose loves Miami but I don't like his show either
