Omar must have had his eyes on the ball. People with real football knowledge know only rookies and people who play fantasy football do that.
Have no idea how this ****ing idiot still gets paid to be a "reporter". He's a joke. And I know he's on this board to find some info from real people within the industry, so hope you read this......**** you Omar Kelly. Go "report" for the Vikings or something.
I saw nothing that would suggest he "punked" Omar. Omar clearly made a mistake, and Mitchell clarified it for him. People make mistakes. Omar might be divisive, but this is not a case where people should make it out as a big deal.....
It takes 10 seconds to make sure the person that was penalized was the numbered person he is going to blast on twitter. He's a hack.
OMG That one is even better, because it leaves only two options. 1) Omar was making crap up. 2) Omar was scouting the wrong player. Both gold.
I see what you're saying. And you're right, "punked" may not be totally accurate...made him look stupid probably fits better. It carries a little extra weight when somebody that's as much of an asshat as he is, is wrong and broadcasting it on Twitter...he's supposed to be a professional writer, accuracy in information should be bedrock to what he does, yet he often puts out misinformation, and is inflammatory in his writing...so ya...he deserves to be shown he's an idiot, and deserves all the other tweets that laugh at him.
Dude has been mailing it in for yrs now, since at least 2010. "I'm a cat" No OMark, you are so imbecilic one makes NBA reporters look like Cronkite
That's hilarious, especially the reply section. I'm warming up to Omar. He's gotten much better, he is prbly my favorite South Florida reporter.
My favorite was when he thought the 3-technique DT actually meant a technique of a player being responsible for 3 gaps at once. I even asked him on Twitter during OTAs who was seeing time at 1-technique and 3-technique spots. He answered a lot of questions that day, both before and after mine. Never got around to mine.
Because it's par for the course with this guy. Spouting off like an expert when he knows nothing about what he is saying Sent from my Note 3
and in fairness to Omar: Omar Kelly @OmarKelly 4h “@EarlMitchell92: that's false...I'm not on punt team so I wasn't on the field at the time.”» my apologies. They called your number. And this!!! Omar Kelly @OmarKelly 4h "@AJFrancis410: @EarlMitchell92 @OmarKelly yeah they called it on ATL and penalized us... League already apologized» preseason for refs too Edit: Beaten by Van.
The tweet wasn't made during the game. All he had to do was to check the game log over the weekend. Instead, he ran with the original mistake—which means he didn't even realize that there was a mistake, and he totally missed the league's postgame apology for the mistake. Compound fail.
Except for the fact that Omar makes these 'mistakes' continually and in his profession, accuracy of reporting is paramount, or at least so nearly everyone else thinks so... The guy is a joke of a reporter, along with several others in the South Fla media that would be better served reporting....anywhere else...
I see what you guys are saying. While I do follow him on my Twitter account, I generally just glaze over the stuff because he posts too much and gets into it with his posters. IMO, if one represents a company/organization, that person should hold themselves at a higher standard. He certainly does not, and is downright unprofessional at times via Twitter. The ONLY reason I follow him is because he writes about Miami, but I cannot honestly tell you the last time I have actually read a post. I have told myself to delete him, but have neglected it. I know he is a turd, but I do not follow him closely enough to know he commonly makes these mistakes; nor, do I really care.....
