I have not heard Arthur Lynch's name once so far in either game. I don't even remember seeing him.

I didn't get the Landry pick either. We don't have a boundary WR who can go up and get the ball, especially in the redzone. But they went for another WR of the same variety they have on the roster.

For fun, there's a link that will calculate QBR (www.primecomputing.com), and so far after two preseason games:

    RYAN TANNEHILL 15/20 172 1 0 = 117.1 QBR
    RYAN & MATT MOORE 28/39 330 2 0 = 114.3 QBR
    RYAN, MATT, BRADY QUINN, & SETH LOBATO 46/71 474 2 0= 93.3 QBR

    (2013 QBR Leaders - #1 FOLES 119.2, #2 MANNING 115.1, #3 MCCOWN 109.0, #8 ROMO 96.7, #9 BIG BEN 92.0)

    Thank you, Bill Lazor!

    He didn't play tonight.

I don't think he played vs the Falcons either. At least on offense. nfl.com's gamebook lists him as having played last week, while PFF does not list him as having gotten any snaps. If he did play it was on STs only.

And Thank You Philbin and Ross!
Best passing game I've seen as a Dolfan. I love Philbin for bringing this system to Miami. It's a joy to watch football again.

Agreed. The defender obviously grabbed the pants of Wallace and if you want to slow a guy down that is a damn good place to grab. It looks like maybe Wallace was blocking the view of the official.

murphy's law, he finally looks good after my comment. have to start bashing him more often.
maybe Moore just sucked in Sherman's offense and he can rebound in Lazor's offense. if that's the case, then I'll retract all my comments. will take more than one quarter to do so.

It's a good thing Mike Wallace didn't go commando. How does the official not see that?

You and CK are off the wall lol. A virtual rookie going against one of the most disruptive DTs in the league is bound to be ugly. I credit McCoy for being as good as he is. I credit the staff for leaving Thomas and James to deal with McCoy and Claiborne w little help from Satele, a TE or a back, the experience will help them later on.

I thought Thomas was solid after McCoy left the game, and while he got beaten badly a few times one on one I thought he and James did OK picking up the T-E stunts. James was pretty good all around, a couple bad plays but nothing major. Give these guys time to learn and develop. In a real game the staff would have done more to help them out, DT especially, but facing McCoy one on one gives him a great taste of what's to come , IMO that's what preseason is for.

The performance itself was very bad, there were more than a few mistakes, there were 6 to 7 bad mistakes in a half, I don't take into account the opponent because there weren't any stalemates, it's was one sided and Sheldon Richardson will be just as good, that's not being able to funtion your offense and lose game stuff that he showed, can he get better, sure, do we have time to wait, idk man, we have to go with what he's shown on tape GM

There is no defending Thomas. He can't play, can't pass block and can't run block. That assessment is over, McCoy or not.

I dunno, I didn't see "mistakes" I saw one guy getting beaten by a superior player. I saw Satele looking left to help Colledge-Albert and leaving DT and JJ to fend for themselves most of the time. Do you think that happens in a real game? On the sack strip play Satele tried to come over but McCoy was too quick, he showed an outside move then swam inside before Satele could close the gap, that's a great play by him. Shelden Richardson is a nice player but he's not on McCoy's level IMO, I thought last year's crappy OL had two of their better games vs the Jets.

PFF #s are in for yesterday's game...Dallas Thomas' line is pretty fugly. Lowest rated player on the O @ -9.9. Next closest is -2.7.

    Matt Moore took top honors.

McCain top on D, Will Davis top 3 again.

I would agree with those numbers, McCain was everywhere, Davis was just like last week..every week of practice he will get better, Jamar needs to step up or when we go nickel finnegan is gonna go inside and Davis outside.

Just watching him in isolation he was bad GM, you know that, what else is there to say, wait for him to get better because he won't play McCoy every week, one thing about this league, if your getting physically Overmatched nothing can be done that will protect your team from negative impact, we have two other players that might do better, maybe after that performance we should find out no?, I mean their all learning the offense at the same time..Turner seems to be bigger, stronger, quicker,smarter..

Sheldon Richardson will be on his level soon enough, he's that good.

I wonder if Phins can trade Wallace and keep paying his contract until next year, and get in return a player of much smaller salary which the other team will play.

He was a hair above, -1.5, barely below Spadola, way below every other WR.

Also found it interesting the Time to Sack on Tannehill was 1.9 seconds. MAN that's fast.

Edit: And not that we didn't know this already:

Gerald McCoy played the best 19 snaps you'll likely see from an interior D-Lineman. Sack, hit, hurry, batted pass, and an absurd +8.2 grade

The only time Moore had meaningful snaps in Sherman's offense was in 2012 against the Jets. Results look pretty good to me.

    Dallas with a niner...lol..

The old man on his last life hills made the top 10.

    McCain was ballin last nite.

Our 6th receiver had a good nite..

    Anything Johnson ballin..

I know I've said this before but I really enjoy the PFF stuff, I trust it more than anything out there because I now know what the requirements are in terms of judging and grading this stuff...you can't be some dummy who doesn't know the game, and it really isn't stats imo, it's grades thru numbers and takes Into account all type of variables.

Turner didn't have to go against Gerald McCoy :wink2:.

I'm not against seeing more of Turner at RG, maybe Smith too, but I'm not at practice every day to see the whole picture and I'm not going to overreact to what I saw last night or assume that you guys wouldn't be trashing Turner and calling for Thomas if their roles had been reversed.

I agree. As bad as Thomas was there has to be some consideration to how good McCoy is. And sometimes even a great player has your number on a specific day. And sometimes you just have a a bad day. While I would weigh Thomas play against McCoy heavily, I would still factor in everything else the coaches have seen in camp.

Ugh. I have serious issues with the way PFF does things. They don't factor in down-distance or the quality of the opponent/ matchups. It's raw data with little or no context...

im pretty sure they do factor in down and distance..quality of opponent I don't think, but once you have the grade on performance you can figure that out for yourself..I think if you saw the process for which they come up with a grade and what has to be taken into account you would respect..

I'd bet dollars to doughnuts you have a better eye than they guy(s) they have doing our rankings.

I mean that game wasn't over until 10:30 and this morning they have every player graded for the entire game? Sheeeeit, Joe Philbin himself couldn't have it done that fast. Do they have a crack staff of competent analysts there to break down every player in every game, in anonymity? I guess it's possible, seems kinda farfetched though, no?
