I agree. I think Odrick is an okay player, but I can't see the Dolphins spending a lot of money to try and keep him after this season. If he is willing to sign for a very cap friendly amount, he would be worth keeping around. If he is looking for a big pay day based on how average he has been since he was drafted, I would gladly bid him adios and wish him well with any team who overpays him.

From what I've seen from the running back position this preseason I want Thomas on the team, have said this before but Daniel Thomas has one thing that is very impressive in his game and that is his ability to cut, he has a devastating one cut move that worries me sometimes when it comes to injury, I will take that skill combine it with this zone scheme and see if it produces a better result, I mean if a scheme can help a Qb it can also help a running back..

lets see how earl Mitchell and Anthony Johnson play this year then we can make our decision based on that..

    I just read this.

I've been speculating this offseason that I felt something was bothering Odrick, maybe this is it, or maybe I'm off, just got a weird vibe.

Aaaaaaaannd Egnew's been cut lmao. One down, one to go. #ThePurge

RT @AdamSchefter: Dolphins are waiving former third-round pick, TE Michael Egnew, per league source.

    Jeff Ireland ladies and gentlemen.

Passed on Jimmy Graham in the 3rd round, took Egnew.

actually he took John Jerry over Graham....Egnew over TY Hilton. I don't know which pick was worse, Egnew I guess, at least Jerry started some games, tho it was really by default.

    Come on.

When you take a player you're technically taking that player over every single player remaining who ends up being awesome.

Egnew was a 3rd round pick in a draft that was weak on tight end talent. That 3rd round pick didn't work out. Jimmy Graham wasn't even in the same goddamn draft.

I dislike Jeff Ireland as much as anyone but there's no need to be dumb about the way to frame arguments against him. It just makes the rest of us who have valid arguments look bad.

Perhaps my post was poorly worded.

I just meant that we passed on Jimmy Graham because we valued him as a 4th round pick, but valued Egnew as a 3rd round pick a few years later

Different drafts man. 3rd round pick one year =\= a 3rd round pick for a different draft class.

Watch Egnew, Thigpen, etc. go on the Pats or other teams and kill us later. Same with DJ if we ever got rid of him. Ireland had his issues but the coaching has killed us imo.

You mean I can't get any love for "we drafted Henne in the 2nd and the Pats got Brady in the 6th?" I was planning to break that out.

Anyway, you have a point that different drafts are not the same. Context is everything. I always liked the quote by he-who-shall-not-be-named: "There is no Julius Peppers in this draft."

It seems that Miami has a knack for consistently failing to develop players. Maybe the years have scarred me, creating a bias, but I don't think the bias came out of nowhere.

Unfortunately we still have the same coach. But that's because Ross never holds everyone accountable for the lack of success.
