They said on Twitter he was wearing one.

@DrDerekOchiai: @injuryexpert Tough break for Bradford. Unfortunately, no knee brace can control knee motion enough to prevent excessive strain on an ACL.

Damn, I hate that kind of defeatist mindset. If RT17 gets knocked out for the season, just bunch it huh? The 1972 Dolphins would like to tell you about the time there was this 38 yr old over the hill backup QB named Morrall...

I think if RT did get lost for the season, and Moore led the team to a Wildcard berth, that most fans would be pretty happy. Once you are in the playoffs, any team is dangerous. The Jets made it from a Wildcard berth to the AFC championship game two times, with frigging Mark Sanchez at the helm.

I think the mindset comes--at least in part--from the widespread practice of exponentially overrating the value of higher draft picks.

Screw the draft pick, I want to win. Losing just for the sake of getting a better draft pick is for losers.

Seems like we have this discussion every year. I think if anyone had offered a 2nd or 3rd round pick at any time over the last few years we would have traded Moore in a heartbeat but realistically we could probably get a 5th or maybe 4th round pick for Moore and it isn't worth getting rid of him for that price. He is one of the best backups in the league and that does have value. The Rams are idiots they had a ton of draft picks the last few years and Bradford has never been able to remain healthy and even when he was healthy he wasn't that great (he looked pretty good though), they had the draft picks to select a quality young Qb and chose not to and they are more than likely going to be picking early next draft.....

If Tanny is knocked out for the season, then we're done. I have zero faith in Moore. I absolutely hate his style/game. "Chuck it deep and pray". He got amazingly lucky being bailed out by Marshall so often in 2011. He doesn't lead long drives with the medium length passing game, and he makes the wrong decesion at the wrong time. far too often fails to take the play thats right there in front of him trying to be the hero. Reminds me of Fiedler in that way.

Earl Morral was a savvt vet who'd been there and done that. Thats not who Moore is.

Moore took a team with a lot less overall talent and turmoil to a .500 record, it's as if that never happened and he really is Cleo Lemon in disguise

i doubt Philbin and Hickey share your attitude that we should abandon the season if Tannehill goes down, seeing as how they'd both probably be fired.

Bradford's injury is exactly why it would be foolish to trade Moore....

Moore has late round value at best. Trading him accomplishes nothing. We save a few bucks and get a pick to draft another Author Lynch type. No thanks... I like the insurance policy as is.

Moore's contract is horrible, completely untradeable.

No. You don't trade Moore, imo, and that's an understatement. We would be one hit good away from Brady Quinn. Bye Bye season. At this point we don't need so much. We may need some OL tweaking and we have enough quality WRs to trade one of them for an Olinemen.

That is just absolute baloney. You're not describing Matt Moore at all. He engineered probably the longest drive, as for number of plays, in team history. Last game of the season in 2011, against the Jets, who had a very good defense. 21 plays, 94 yards, 12 minutes and 29 seconds. The TD scored on that drive gave us a 13-10 lead in a game we eventually won 19-17

If, god forbid, Tannehill gets knocked out for the season at any time, since you are a quitter with a defeatist attitude too, you won't need to watch any more of the games for the season, and think of how time that will give you to do other things.

I'd like to know how much we could get for Ryan Tannehill? Not that I think he should be traded, but I'm seriously curious: how much? Would the Rams trade a first rounder for him?

I'll bet the Colts and their fans would beg to differ with you.

Twice they have had the worst record in the league over the past two decades and they were able to get Peyton Manning and Luck with the first pick in the draft following each of those terrible seasons.

One terrible season for a chance to get into the playoffs for the next decade seems like a fair deal to me.

All of these. And to add a little perspective to the Rams doomsday predictions....

Kellen Clemens went 4-5 as Rams starter last year. (better win % then Bradford)
He led them to wins over New Orleans, Indianapolis and Chicago.
3 of his 5 loses were to Seattle (X2) and San Fran.

Not saying this doesn't hurt STL, but a backup caliber vet quarterback could still lead STL to a very respectable record.

    Well away from here
You don't trade Moore, you keep him. He's one of the best backup QB's in the league as he has proven before. He can and has shown that he can you games, and that's what a backup has to do. In a passing dominant league a good backup QB is worth its weight in gold. The security he provides us is worth much more than his 5 million dollar salary.

Keep him. We still have holes, but we are now building depth in certain areas. QB, RB, WR and TE look deep, as does DB. However, we don't need to take depth away from those positions. We need to keep those and continue to build in the areas we need some help with. Good teams keep their talent, they don't trade it away. You keep yours and continue to add talent around what you have.

I would be shocked if this coaching staff allows Moore to be traded.

RT requires a leap of faith, Moore does not.

Vote to keep Moore, but i did wonder if St Louis would be interested as soon as Bradford went down.

As for Moore starting, every time he takes the field he reminds us why he's a backup, albeit a good one. Am I the only one who saw that horrible pick 6 Saturday? After that reminder, no way i'm clamoring for Moore to start.

It was hard to tell, with the dark socks and pants. I could not see anything bulky like the knee braces linemen wear or like the one Joe Namath used to wear. You could see that thing from a mile away. :) I'd say since there was a brace, it was some sort of lightweight space age material kind of thing. Braces do prevent excess lateral movement, which is how many knee injuries occur. To listen to that so called injury expert, no brace is ever going to protect the ligaments and if that's the case why does anyone ever wear them? Bradford's knee did not appear to bend in an awkward direction. It seemed like something that could have happened doing many common knee movements considering the way it happened.

Not that I think the staff is considering that possibility, but Moore has a price tag and if someone meets that price, he'd be gone in a heartbeat...Still, I think Moore is more valuable to us than he is to anyone else, including the Rams...

And, Shaun Hill is an upgrade over Clemens. IMO, there is a good chance the Rams could win as many games with Hill as they could have with Bradford.
