Most painful thing I ever saw happen was to my brother. We were tubing on a lake when it was white capping. He was in the tube and his friend was driving the boat. He hit a cap and bounced off the tube came back down hard and bounced even higher. Slack got in the line and when he landed from the second bump his leg got caught in the line, boat pulled the slack out and it gave him rope burn in his calf....that was HALF AN INCH DEEP!!!!!!!!!! He just floated in the water because he was sure his leg was gone and he didn't want to see it.

I still cringe for him when I think about it and that mutha effer is dead to me.

    Get off my lawn.
Me... stubbed my toe and took the entire left side of my big toe off... saw straight white bone, freaky.

As for watching someone elses painful injuries, I'm military and the son of an orthopedic and ER physician so there's a long list lol Nail gun to the testicle has to be near the top ER story.

Most gruesome I've witnessed and to share was probably basic training... a chick was on the zip line in the early spring and we just had freezing rain...Drill's didn't do their job and check the equipment, she hit the catching net which the ice had weighed down, she smashed her head on the ground and is now paralyzed.

Most painful thing I've ever seen/felt happen was to a Maltese dog when I was in middle school. I'm looking out the bus window and I see this little white dog take off from his porch with a teenage kid chasing after him. Seemed like slow motion when it ran in front of the bus. Then I felt a bump. Bus driver jammed the brakes and we skidded a bit. Never heard such a blood-curdling scream before as I did that day from that kid. We all ran off the bus to check it out. Apparently, when the bus skidded, it wedged the poor dog between the back tire and asphalt. Dog was completely red, two legs were severed and another was only attached by a piece of skin..... and it was still alive. just yelping. and snapping at anyone getting close, including his teenage owner who was a sobbing mess [understandably]. It was still alive by the time animal rescue finally arrived.

Probably the saddest thing I've ever seen was driving home one night at Clemson. A large impressive buck [deer] got walloped and broke its back. He somehow pulled himself up with his front legs and did everything in his power to drag himself across the highway and off the road where he collapsed. Very emotional and heart-wrenching to watch.

Previous job installing and inspecting restaurant fire suppression systems. Doing an inspection on a KFC in Long Island right before opening. Scaffold I was kneeling on collapsed and I fell both legs first into the vat fryer. Oil was at about 475 degrees.

Thank god that hot oil didn't get to your hairspray. They'd still be trying to put that out.

Also, and this goes for anyone, if your boss tells you to get on a rickety scaffolding over a vat of hot oil/fire/lava/sharks with lasers/etc. tell that boss to go **** their self.

Happened a long time ago. And they couldn't change the oil because they were opening. Everyone got some Italian seasoning on their chicken.

Funniest painful thing I saw... In Afghanistan, on Kandahar Airfield... there's a "boardwalk" where all the shops are with a field in the middle. Well they bring in local nationals to do a lot of the manual labor. Walking along, saw this guy cutting sheetmetal with a circular saw. Started at the bottom worked his way up... however, he was straddling the sheetmetal, and cutting upwards until shards of molten metal start burning through his crotch... I laughed.... hard.

I have a good one too.....

Actually ironically we were in Irbil training Peshmerga and they used to take propane tanks (like the ones in gas grills) and they would carry 2 and roll one down the street kicking it with their feet with a cigarette in his mouth. We obviously would tell them not to do it and how dangerous it was, until finally one day we were kicking it with the locals and BOOOOOOOOOM, we don't see anything but just know!!! Believe it or not Pershmerga were peaceful people and very little violence happened up there (as opposed to right now with ISIS) Our team looks at each other and all start laughing like this dumb mug blew his *** up. He go running about 1/8 mile around the store shop and sure enough dude is on fire. I am laughing covering him with a wool blanket to put out the flames. Dude survived. Apparently the top popped off spraying propane everything and then it caught.....

Looking back we laughed at a lot of ****ed up ****.....I am an ******* kinda I guess..

When i was younger around 14 ish i drove an atv full speed into a chainlink fence sectional going about 50mph without a helmet. I gave the helmet to my friends little brother who was on the back of it with me. We were playing 'atv tag' and i decided itd be a good idea to turn my head for an extended period of time to look for them behind me. All i remember is the sound of the fence crunching and the atv rolling up from under me and then on top of my head. My friends little brother fell off the back and didnt get a scratch, i remember laying on the ground looking up at the sky thinking i was dying, but i felt no pain from the shock i was in. My face was wet, i touched it and when i looked at my hand it was like if i had dipped my hand in a can of red paint. Ill never forget my friends pulling up and seeing me mutilated on the floor going "get up b***h, youre fine". Ended up with a broken nose, jaw, and a few ribs. Im not what most would call a smart individual.

Was tightening a cable clamp on a metal electrical box I was holding when the screwdriver slipped off the screw and went straight through the palm of my hand, the tip of the screwdriver was actually sticking out of the back of my hand..... maybe not as gruesome as some of the stories I`ve read here but damn, I will NEVER forget that pain as long as I live.

Ok I'll throw this into the ring. I am blind in my left eye because my optic nerve is bruised and retina is partially detached. How did this happen? I was shot in the eye with a beebee gun when I was eight. (Insert Christmas Story reference here) when the beebee hit it didn't strike my eye directly but actually hit near the eye socket, went inside, my skull, ricocheted off the temple from the inside and struck the back of the eye from the inside.

Now that sounds bad enough but it isn't the worst. The eye remained intact so for obvious cosmetic reasons the doctors didn't want to go after the beebee. (You actually can't casually tell I have a problem with the eye) however the doctors told my parents there is no room in the socket and the beebee would work it's way out eventually. Which it did. The problem was is that when the beebee moved in the eye socket it would widen the rip in my retina slightly. So imagine having something slowly rip open nerve endings INSIDE your eyeball. The pain was so bad I would have what were basically seizures when it moved. Funnily enough when it actually popped out of my eye I felt nothing at all.

At any rate any time a woman has ever told me I will never know the pain of childbirth I've told them you're right. I went through something much worse.

Man you missed out on a chance to pull off the greatest party trick ever.
"So who here wants to see me stick this beebee up my *** and cry it out my eye?" You could'a offered up 2 to 1 odds and banked.
