A play that should have been a pick by Schulters that resulted in a TD. And two failures on 4th and goal. Almost making the game 21-21 vs the Patriots is a hell of an improvement from 42-0 at halftime earlier this season.
Agreed, it could have been a lot worse. At the end of the day, the way I look at it, would the Pats be the same team if they lost Brady and Maroney to injury and then traded away Moss? Losing Bruschi or Seau as well as Rodney Harrison, Eugene Wilson and James Sanders? The answer is clearly no, so let's look ahead to next year when we'll hopefully no longer be in that position.
catching the ball from time to time would've helped too. whoever our wide receivers coach is needs to go
How does a coach teach NFL recievers how to catch? If they can't catch the ball by now then there's no saving them!!
It seems like we can never get a break.....always a couple inches from making a big play. How Schulters missed Brady's pass is beyond me.......looked like he had his hands out and got ready to make the INT and the ball sailed right past Schulter's shoulder. UNREAL.
You have to ignore the 2nd half in a game like this. The announcers made far too much of NE not scoring in the second half. The overwhelming tendency of favorites with huge leads at home, especially against division rivals, is to play defense in the second half and not prioritize offense. Or not have as much intensity on offense. However you want to look at it. Particularly late in the season. The teams generally try for a possession or two in the 3rd quarter, then turn it over to the defense for the remainder of the game. That's basically what NE did. It's the reason games like this have low second half over/unders, then are bet heavily toward the under by so-called sharps. I'm not in Las Vegas right now but I absolutely guarantee the wise guys were salivating to bet the under at halftime. Very typical for a game with let's say a 41 total to be 17 for a 2nd half over/under, if the big favorite leads something like 24-0. Meanwhile, if it's a standard 14-10 score, then the 2nd half over under would be cut in half, to 20.5 or 21. Evaluate a 28-0 first half for a true picture of where the two teams stand in relation to each other. Trying to take solace or pride in the 2nd half of a game like this is fool's gold.
Lemon still cannot plant his feet, pull the ball down and run with it, or take good angles to the end zone. I like the heart in Chatman though.
If the Patriots were letting up in the second half then their starters would have been sent home. They wouldn't risk playing soft at 14-0 with their starters on the field.
did anybody else think that lemon could have walked in on the one play where he pumped and threw an incompletion?
well then why hire a wide receiver coach at all? it's not all route running simply put, our receivers haven't got any better. Hagan appears to be getting worse, Martin is still nothing special. Derrick Pope made a case for having the best hands on the team today. first two possessions, three drops and two three-and-outs. Cleo wasn't throwing the ball poorly then either. you just can't do that against the Pats
