The worst part is Dorsett was WIDE WIDE WIDE open in the flat and he forced it. He would have scored easily.
Dudes not ready at all. This is Louisville. Not fsu. This sucks. Olsen maybe? I dunno what to do. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Over. That was really pathetic. If they had a good QB they would have carved us up just like last season.
Have to say I see the team has the same issues as every year and a lot are schematic. I wont be opposed to a new coaching staff.
Coaching is getting these talented kids no where! Not sure why they insisted on starting a kid fresh out of high school but he looks like he could be a good one in the future. No way should they be starting him now when there is a veteran ready to play. The defense has some great prospects! Yet they still give 10 yard cushions? I'm starting to really hate our DC. He coaches scared! This is not what I was hoping for that for sure!!!
Kaaya had to put the interception icing on the interception cake with a near pick six. Luckily we made the tackle, though it didnt matter I guess.
The oline is supposed to be a strength but they all look slow as m o l a s i s Pass blocking yes but they totally sucked run blocking tonight and until the QB can make some defenses pay teams are going to keep stacking the box.
Yeesh. I'm not even going to bother reading the highlights from the post game press conference, it will be the same answers as last year especially about the defense. This might be a rare year where A&M beats us. Kaaya is so wet behind the ears, being just out of high school. I hope he finds his rhythm and will be able to air it out more during the year. I don't want to see a season of over-conservative football.
You gotta believe that Mr. Golden and his staff are on the hot seat. I'll give Kaaya a pass this game, but it looks like the same team we've seen for the last 10 or so years. Sad to say that the U is not going to be relevant anytime soon. We're running out of legacy names, its getting harder to recruit on name alone....
The defense was perfectly fine until they got gassed. Kaaya was an abomination so hopefully he improves
So....as bad as Kaaya was I was thinking about the game and Golden deserves a lot of the blame. I understand protecting your young QB with easy throws. However almost every first down pass was a screen pass to a WR. Every second down seemed like it was a run to Duke Johnson. Every third down seemed like a predictable pass as well. I question how much success a young QB can have being coddled like that when the defense sees what is coming at them.
Interesting article from the Miami Herald about the coaching staff and recruiting issues at the " Player retention woes likely a key contributor to Miami Hurricanes’ malaise As the blowout losses mount and the mediocrity continues, the noise is getting loud outside Al Golden’s football office. Former Hurricanes players lashed out this week. They don’t like the offensive play-calling and defensive schemes, and they want to know how a program with five national titles has lost five of its past seven games by 18 or more points, including Monday night’s season opener at Louisville. There has to be enough talent to win more than Golden has (he’s 3-5 against ranked opponents and 11-12 against bowl-eligible teams since arriving in 2011). After all, Miami’s recruiting classes under Golden were ranked 36th (2011), ninth (2012), 20th (2013) and 12th (2014) by Rivals.com. If talent is coming in through the door, why are the results on the field still disappointing? One reason: A significant number of recruits (18) from Golden’s first three signing classes have either left the program or been booted off the team because of arrests or disciplinary issues. Another six players who signed never made it into school (Kevin Grooms, Antonio Kinard, Angelo Jean-Louis, Derrick Griffin, Devante Bond and Ryheem Lockley), and three others didn’t get on the field because of injuries (quarterbacks Preston Dewey and David Thompson and linebacker Josh Witt). Add it up, and 27 of the 71 players Golden recruited to UM over his first three years provided little or no help. “That right there is a sanction you put on yourself,” said Corey Long, a recruiting expert who has worked for ESPN, 247Sports and Friday Night Football Magazine. They have a chance to redeem themselves tonight. Last game was bad but maybe not as bad as it seemed. Golden admitted he was too conservative so lets hope he takes thebreigns off a little bit. We played them close until our predictability gave them an edge.Lets win tonight.
Arkansas State at 3:30 on ESPNU Will be a good gauge of progress. Better than FAMU but worse than Louisville IMO. Kaaya needs to start shaping up soon.
Kaaya looked a lot better but what concerns me is the fact that he hasn't really used the middle of the field well on slants or intermediate routes. Maybe that is partly design but if that opens up for him he could be good. Hes really all or nothing today. Either a huge gain or very short pass.
I don't see this kid being on the team at the end of the season. One dumb thing after another from him. "Miami Hurricanes backup quarterback Kevin Olsen has been suspended from team activities after he was charged early Monday morning with driving under the influence and having a fake driver's license. Miami-Dade County jail records show Olsen was arrested in South Miami, was booked into a correctional center at 4:11 a.m. Monday and was being held on $6,000 bail. No further details were immediately available, and it wasn't clear whether Olsen, the brother of Carolina Panthers tight end Greg Olsen, had hired an attorney. The redshirt freshman got into trouble even before he set foot on the Miami campus. In May 2013, he was charged in his hometown of Wayne, New Jersey, with leaving the scene of an accident and failing to report an accident. Olsen also has served two suspensions during his brief Miami career. He missed the bowl game last year but entered fall camp as the projected starter. That, however, didn't happen after Olsen was suspended for the first two games of this season for a violation of team standards." http://espn.go.com/college-football...en-miami-hurricanes-arrested-dui-fake-license
I have a bad feeling about Nebraska. Like we are going to get the floor wiped with us. Kaaya can't use the middle of the field. They can just defend the deep ball and play to stop Duke. Our offensive line has been up and down and could be disastrous.
Have to say I understand we aren't a juggernaut this year but I'm disappointed in the lack of action in this thread. Tonight is a big game.
Nice first drive so far but we need to finish. Kaaya can prove he is the long term answer if he plays well.
