I don't know if its possible anyone knows but my plans that weekend hinge if it is or isn't being shown in the NYC area...the Jets are at home but on FOX and there are times that CBS will show a game as well, I just not clear what the requirements need to be.
I wasn't sure if the past game were nationally televised or not...since we know the NFL wants to promote London as much as possible you think they would want to give the game as much exposure as possible. And I've spend considerable amount on time trying to find out but not having much luck.
Have you reached out to the NFL directly, an email or phone call? Or the Dolphins ticketing office? You would think it would be televised.
It's a 1 o'clock game with other games scheduled for the same time on CBS, so I don't see any way that it's nationally televised. Also, assuming they let CBS play a game while the Jets were playing, I would think they'd play the Buffalo game given that is a closer (secondary) market.
Sick is right. The London game has been national in the past, but with multiple games there now, and with so many others at the same time, its looking like it may only be the " primary" game, if that.
No, it is not a national game. It is shown in the home regions of the teams playing in the game. As Stitches pointed out, it is a 1:00 pm game and none of the 1:00 pm games are national games.
They don't usually play Buffalo in the NYC market. We get a lot of Broncos, Steelers, Patriots now. The Dolphins used to be on a lot here when the Jets/Giants weren't. Still get a few extra, but not as many in the past few years. I don't think they'll be putting Dolphins-Raiders on in NYC area, but you never know. However, Giants are in primetime and the only AFC game at 4:30 that week is Jaguars-Chargers. So if there is a 1pm game opposite the Jets (they don't usually do that right? I forgot) I bet they would put Panthers @ Ravens.
The rule used to be that a competing game could only be shown opposite a Jets or Giants game if they were on the road. As FOX is carrying the Jet game that week, then the Jets must be home, so theoretically CBS wouldn't be able to show a game opposite that. I'm not sure if that rule has been modified the past year or so.
Was hoping our game would be the 10am Eastern time game this year. Pretty sure one on the London games plays at that time this year. Would have been neat
My wife got upset a lot early on, but now she gets that its my day for a few months a year. The rest are hers.
