I'm to the point where if the Cavs can't win a ring with this team I might have to take a step back from sports. I know that's completely over the top dramatic, but there reaches a point where winning a championship doesn't offset the years and years of time put into watching crap teams and being disappointed. How long does the euphoria of a ring last? Because I've got 31 years of wasted time to make up for. Like - is it still worth being a sports fan if you know your team will never win a championship?
I root for Akron in football and know they'll never win an NCAA title. I don't see why it isn't worth it, they bring me enjoyment (at times).
Kornholer said that since "Miami doesn't have basketball anymore", they should pack the stands to see Stanton. Then Wilbon said that why bother, since they will probably leave by the 6th inning....then they alluded to Miami not deserving to have Stanton anyway.
Wait, wait, the knock on Miami fans is that we're late if we show up at all. Leave by the 6th inning? Benny the Bull needs to get his slander straight.
Miami fans undeserving of talent? Check Miami fans poor for attendance? Check Miami fans leaving early? Check Hmm... they seemed to have covered almost all of the bases. Well done. I honestly would almost love to see the Heat adopt the bad boys attitude of the old Canes that Desides alluded to earlier at this point.
I hope Heat fans buy out tickets from all the people who scoop up lower bowl tickets and show up late and leave early. The first chance a major outlet gets to show a half-full lower-bowl during a game, they're gonna go hog wild.
http://probasketballtalk.nbcsports....-extension-with-lebron-james-kevin-love-plan/ Kyrie Irving was told July 1 by Gilbert et. al. that it was "really really possible" they would add LeBron and Kevin Love. So add on at least few more days that this thing was in the bag for Cleveland all the while stringing the Heat along. But I guess it's only tampering when the Heat do it....Hypocrites, the entire crew.
They hadn't talked to Lebron at that point, they were pitching to Kyrie, and needed Kyrie to commit before having a chance at any of the rest. The Cavs didn't find out Lebron was committed until just before the SI article came out and Rich Paul called Gilbert.
And yet, somehow they had enough of an indication this would happen that they used it as a pitch to re-sign a player.
I always felt there was a pretty decent chance Irving was notified of LeBron's interest before he signed his deal. Section had told us how he wasn't happy there and was trying to force his way out, and then he was on video jumping up and down for joy at signing his extension. If Section's info was correct, then the only thing that makes sense there is if he felt LeBron was coming.
Yeah if you believe the official story. If you want to piece the clues together yourself that makes no sense. You're a smart guy, piece it together.
I have read plenty of non-official inside stories from plenty of people who thought Lebron was likely to come back. Not one of them claimed to know Lebron was back as of July 1st, and most people with inside sources expected Kyrie to sign because the money would be too hard to pass up, but they weren't 100% sure he would because of Kyrie's father's potential influence on the decision. The earliest anyone claimed with any certainty Lebron was going to come back was July 6th. In fact, it was said we were making a hard push to get Love before we even thought Lebron might come back.
There is no doubt in my mind some sort of a Lebron assurance was in place. I knew he was coming back a year ago.
Not "out". Re-assigned. Those guys have a ton of years in. Time to retire from the bench. Juwan and Dan Craig take over.

What has happened with the Derrick Rose hype of a month ago when he was dunking on practice . Dude has been terrible in this FIBA tournament. I remember article after article, multiple threads on reddit, and comments after comment. All the sudden, silence.
