Killed it tonight in my 12 team Clemson league, #10 pick. Got an A+ for the draft but my team is even better than Yahoo's projections.

Rushing: .25 per rush
Receiving: 1 PPR; .25 per 1st down; 1 pt per 40+
Return yards: 1 per 20; 2pt bonus @100; 3pt @150; 4pt @200.

QB carries greater value & disparity. (Manning scored 624 last year. QB6 Newton- 422; QB12 Kaep- 368. Jamaal Charles scored 461)
1 per 20 yards
4 per TD, -2 INT
0.5 per completion, -0.5 per incompletion. ***Having comp's & inc's balancing each other out is a way to reward for completion %.

DEF/ST also carries greater value. (DEF1 KC & DEF2 Seattle scored 408 & 392 pts. DEF6 Balt- 318, DEF12 Denver- 279)

QB Peyton Manning (Round 2)
RB1 DeMarco Murray (R1)
RB2 Shane Vereen (R3)
WR1 Cordarrelle Patterson (R4)
WR2 Julian Edelman (R6)
WR3 Marques Colston (R8)
TE Jordan Cameron (R5)
FLEX Moreno (R10)
DEF/ST Seattle (R7)
K Dan Bailey, Dallas (R16)

Bench
RB Jeremy Hill (R9)
RB Lamar Miller (R11... lol, sure why not)
RB Lance Dunbar (R15)
WR Steve Smith (R12)
TE Travis Kelce (R14)
QB Tannehill (R13)

It's not a bad team at all. When I've done PPC I don't always believe that getting the best QB is a championship ticket. Your RB 2 and flex leave something to be desired IMO but you can go all car salesperson on some sucker :)

not awful but not a playoff team. I want Tannehill to pick it up to QB1 status in fantasy as much as the next phins fan but you're not making the playoffs with that and average skill players. Sorry you're just not. Either tank the year and rebuild or get some upgrades at QB, flex, WR and TE2

Sorry I had to merge it broski. My team, your team and everyone else's goes here

I don't see a problem reaching for Roddy & Fitz when you added Evans in the 7th, Hopkins in the 9th, and especially Cody Latimer in the 19th..... and perhaps Cooks in the 4th turns out to be okay 3rd round value next year. 4 more years of Hyde for less than a 1st looks appealing.

Time for another dissertation so take notes. :tongue2:
I don't wanna go car salesperson you putz. Vereen was my target. I drafted this way for max points, not medium points but max points at RB like you would've gone. LOL. Besides, it's already been reported that he'll likely have a "significant role in almost every plan". He's the man in New England, as he should be considering there's no more Blount and because fumbleitis Ridley hasn't instilled a ton of confidence in Belichick. With no distinguished rusher in the mix, there's little reason to keep Brady's best RB target off the field. He could easily lead in carries. Plus 1 pt per reception and .25 per receiving 1st down? Vereen is in line for RB1 status in heavy PPR leagues. I'll take that in the 4th round all day long, and it'll win me a championship as he outscores 8 or 9 backs that went before him. That's value. Heck, his 9 game pace last year would've put him at RB13.

You may have been right about QB based on your league, draft style, etc, but in my particular case I'll have to disagree. I don't just think to myself, "Ooh, Peyton Manning, le'me take him!" without having already mapped out such a Round 2 scenario to ensure it'd net me the most expected points over the next 4 rounds compared to going RB or WR in round 2. Keep in mind I had already planned on drafting a QB by Round 6 so that I wouldn't be left holding my pecker following a potential QB run over the next 19 picks until my round 7. The only discrepancy here is you significantly devalue Vereen & Edelman somewhat, whereas I think highly of the duo and feel they're strong enough value in rounds 3 and 6 to not have to draft RB2 or WR2 in Round 2 should Manning or Graham drop. Edelman finished WR13 with 290 points, 39 shy of Dez and 58 shy of Demaryius, and I don't think he'll see a significant dip from that which makes him incredible value in round 6, and I already had Cordarrelle Patterson pegged in Round 4 as my WR1 [more great value], and Jordan Cameron Round 5 [1 in the hand is worth 2 in the bush; grab an advantageous top TE while he's sitting there for the taking rather than counting on Rudolph, Reed, or Pitta later on when everyone else is trying to do the same thing [hence Cameron lasting till the 5th round in the first place, duh] and when I'm trying to gobble up value with Seattle or St Louis, Colston, Decker, Kelvin Benjamin, Golden Tate, and the sneaky or potential RB2s [Hill, Moreno, Fred Jackson, Woodhead, MJD, and Bernard Pierce] who all could very well give me close to the same 5th round or better production that I would've gotten in the 5th round but allowing me to walk away with a tier 1 TE in the process.

Here's how it looks based on my personal estimates if I took WR in round 2 instead of Manning:
a) 2nd round Manning's 575 pts + 6th round Edelman's 275 pts = 850 (there's room for upside here as their 2013 total was 914)
b) 2nd round Nelson/Jeffery's 330 pts + 6th round Ryan/Romo's 460 = 790 (that's being generous and maxes out expectancy, as Rivers finished #3 last year with 460 pts while Ryan/Romo finished with 425/394. Jeffery won't see much improvement over his 325 pts, if he does at all, and Nelson scored 289 on 85/1314/8)
**so that's roughly a 60 pt differential if I'm being conservative.

If I went Doug Martin instead of Manning, it would've roughly looked like this:

2040

2100

Marshawn Lynch had 357 last year as the RB5, so I think 350 is generous for Martin.
Fred Jackson had 291 as the RB11, and Vereen was on pace for 286 last year, so 300 is reasonable in my eyes.
Going my route I'm up an estimated 60 points and have more certainty at the most important position [QB] while limiting my injury risk at WR [going from Harvin to Edelman even though I lose a few points] and reducing the risk of an RB injury dampening my season by not drafting RBs in rounds 1 & 2 [as I've already broken down how risky that can be], and it allows for Jeremy Hill [round 9], Moreno [round 10], or Miller [round 11] to potentially become an additional RB2 or great Flex option w/o having to use a 2nd or 3rd round pick, thus freeing up my 2nd rounder for Manning.

I figured I could build a strong enough roster that I wouldn't need to risk swinging for the fences at RB in round 2 instead of grabbing the #1 player in the league [Manning] and locking up the only position I didn't confidently have anyone pegged in a specific round for considering the unpredictable drafting nature of GMs when it comes to QBs. I passed on Peyton in round 2, but he was too much value in round 2, especially with the tier 1 WRs off the board and Doug Martin as the top back available whom I like a lot this year but certainly don't trust as much with a high 2nd round pick as I would the monumentally safer Manning at QB. It was either Manning, Doug Martin, Jordy Nelson, Julio Jones, Alshon, or Antonio Brown. C'mon, how do you pass on Manning?

Unless return yards count, I'd personally take Fred Jackson over Spiller. Jackson should continue to get as many or more carries, including the goal line stuff and 3rd down work, as he's obviously a better fit for Marrone's offense and especially since Marrone has shown no desire to alter his philosophy to fit Spiller's ability. I'm guessing that's why he's decided to start Spiller on kick returns- to get him more touches since Jackson will be shouldering the bigger load on offense. But as a Flex like you have him, Spiller should be good. I think that's a solid team down the line. Not an exuberant fan of Ridley or your WR depth but to each his own. Miami D could sneak up on people as many of us know. Steve Smith is still being criminally underrated. Obviously he's not on your roster. LOL.

Very nice. Not sure how you managed the quintet of Forte, Dez, Cobb, Jennings in the 6th, and Romo in the 10th... but congrats on swinging it. Sanders is looking all the better as a 5th rounder with Welker out.

I had to jump on him in the 5th round. I was high on him before, so with Welker out it's looking even better.

Thanks guys! I was quite drunk, made some questionable decisions but i'm overall really happy. Jordy Nelson got picked 1 spot ahead of me in the 3rd round, and Matt Ryan got picked 1 spot ahead of me in the 9th pick so that was a bummer.
I'm not too thrilled with Alfred Morris but I thought it was good value in the 4th round, I might try to package him and Terrance Williams for maybe a TE and a solid RB combo. I didn't really want Dez and Williams but it was hard to pass up at that point.

Have to say the only weakness I see is that your WR #2 will be up and down in my personal opinion and that Newton will have a few really frustrating weeks and others where he lights it up. Great team though even if its only 8 teams.

I think Bryce Brown will be more relevant then Fred Jackson. So we definitely differ there. Old man Jackson is at a point where RB's start to decline and his plodding nature wont do him any favors. I took Spiller in rd 5 because a lot of big name backs were gone obviously and I wanted a RB as a flex option. I do think this the year he may finally break through though. In a league that rewards big plays like mine (40+ runs get a 2 point bonus). Return yards are 1 pt per 25 so they help as well.

I actually like Ridley as a 3rd/4th RB like I got him. Keep in mind he was a late pick and hes still the best runner NE has. I think he could hit 6-8 TD and the yardage total could vary based on his ability to hold on to the ball.

Marrone ran Spiller right up the asses of his offensive linemen all year and spent little effort to utilize him in space or let him work off tackle. Spiller will never break out being used that way, and Marrone likely won't be changing his philosophy any time soon to complement Spiller's ability. I'm not sure how Bryce Brown will be more relevant when Jackson is the primary back in Marrone's offense and will get most of the 3rd down and goal line work since he's the most trusted of the trio. Brown will be lucky to put up half of Jackson's points unless Fred goes down with injury. If Brown takes away from anyone's touches, it'll be more at Spiller's expense than Jackson IMO. We'll just have to see how it plays out I guess.
