Just curious, who do you think you guys will put on Tim Wright to try and contain him. At the end of last season teams were putting fast linebackers on him and were getting burned routinely. Will it be Cortland Finnegan or somebody else? Seattle tried to use Bobby Wagner last year but failed. He is going to play the Hernandez role and be a stud I think. I think I've seen TEN try to use Finnegan in the past on LBs but not too sure.
I think it's too early to tell whether or not he will be a stud. I think he has picked up the offense very quickly and has shown potential in preseason. He's certainly a better TE2 than we had last year when we played Miami though. Wright > Hoomanawanui.
With the short time he has been on the team, how integrated to the Patriots offense do you think Tim Wright will be?
I seriously doubt the Dolphins dedicate a resource to wright..he will get covered by whoever the call dictates and not be shadowed by a particular player. Gronk/Vereen/Edelman will get the most attention as far as coverage responsibility.
Tim who? At this point....hes part of the Patriots scheme...but does not warrant a specific coverage. Lol...man as good as the Pats are this season....I cant imagine they ever loose a game
That's why he's dangerous as a TE2. He's not likely to beat quality coverage, but he's not going to draw it either.
I think your thoughts are being fed to you by a smug, self entitled monster that is quick to dismiss the unknown (especially when they just traded a piece of their core for it). Asked what is the most feared beast to mankind; the master replies, "the one he hasn't met yet". I mean you're basically sweeping the topic under the rug. Arguing toward laziness is evil, because it's stupid. This forum has a thread devoted to who's the most popular player (bunch of girls you are). I spit on your skewed sense of meaning... That said, this organization has a penchant for ignoring the elephant in the room. Opting instead to find clever symbolic proxies to motivate themselves. It's all formality and a mental group circle jerk, but it's avoiding the opponent and a sort of hubris that mocks itself later on. NOW, not only do I want more information on Wright, I'm also gonna put the biggest elephant in the room on display in a separate forum... It's just that... I'm Pandarilla, and I'm very upset with my rhetoric right now, I love you guys, see you in the next thread...
No problem with a thread on Wright as long as it involves the game this week. That said I agree he doesn't deserve to be shadowed, he has basically done nothing.
http://www.thephins.com/forums/show...ERE-New-England-vs-Miami-1-00-Sunlife-Stadium It's called a game thread, it's where we talk about the game and matchups.
Others teams trash is your treasure? Settle down now. I have seen nowhere that you have intelligently addressed what is coming at your team.
I didn't come here to argue on this thread, was an honest thread Mike Vrabel, Rodney Harrison, Christian Fauria, Sammy Morris, Danny Woodhead, David Patten, Tyrone Poole, Bobby Hamilton, Roman Phifer just to name a few who have been released by other teams before we signed them.
Seriously. If I went on the site that you came from and pretended to be cool.......then made an *** of myself.......then started a thread about a second rate player, do you think I would get a response as well as the one you got on this site?
I don't know... Given the Pats 2 TE set, Wright may find himself a starter in Week 1. Since he's the newest Patriot and most guys on both sides have played several of these games, I think it's relevant to explore what his impact might be.
Some of you have issues...if you are unaware of who Tim Wright is and what he can do then take the time too listen to someone who may. Then you go and attack the dude who started it?? Instead of worrying about vendettas, maybe some admins need to police the REAL problems. Way to make the new guy feel welcome, clowns.
Cant roll with ya on this one. This dude showed up flaming and trolling like he can't find his bridge...and as soon as somebody disagreed with him on this one, it'd go the same way. He's transparent...
That's BS, we welcome anyone who has class..he showed his colors in another thread, if he wants to talk football like adults I'm cool with it..
What am I missing here? Was their some posts deleted? Tim Wright is a talented TE that could sneak up and hurt us. I don't see the "trolling" in pointing that out.
Sometimes the dude seemed alright in the beginning but when it came down to really talking objectively he got defensive and fired back with some childish insults..no big deal, forgive and forget, usually pat fans are knowledgable and respectful..I don't mind them coming here, but know your boundaries, if there is a thread that says "dolphins patriots game thread" then put your question there, creating attention or pissing us off, I'm afraid are the motivating factors.
lol, you need to spend more time here bud. That's quite funny actually, you thought he was a dolphin fan talking about their new tight end addition, lol, and were all like, go bleep yourself a-hole!!! Lol
He had my sympathies. .. Just a guy logging on to talk about the game plan and you guys s*** all over him
i think you didn´t read the other threads otherwise you wouldn´t have posted this bull**** you just did
I think Belichick has found his answer for a second TE to finally replace Hernandez. If Gronk is healthy and with the addition of Wright, the Dolphins LB's are going to be in for a long afternoon. Covering TE's have been a problem for the Dolphins for several years and I don't know if they have resolved this issue with the LB's they now have in the starting lineup. I imagine the Patriots will score at least 24-28 points this week, so hopefully Lazor has a lot more in his offensive bag of tricks than he showed in preseason. For the Dolphins to win, they are going to have to run the ball and Tannehill is going to have to connect consistently with Clay, Hartline, Gibson, and either Matthews or Landry. I think Wallace will have a tough time getting free in coverage if Revis is assigned to cover him throughout the game.
Revis could have problems with Wallace. Pure speed is not Darrelle's thing. Look at some Ted Ginn vs. Revis highlights for support. Whether Wallace and Tannehill can connect is another issue, of course, but it's not like Revis is going to make it so Wallace never gets open. As for Wright, has anyone ever come to the Patriots and made and impact as a TE/WR within a couple of weeks? It seems to me that their scheme is a little tough for pass catchers to pick up right away. If Gronk plays, though, a tough time ensue. We'll see.
Whoaaaa... Maybe do some fact checking before throwing your own bros under the bus. Hes been trolling for a week now..
Gronk is traveling with the team. He's definitely playing. Wright has come in an picked up the playbook surprisingly quickly. His teammates have been very impressed with that. He showed a lot of potential in the preseason game he played.
