I find that funny as well. Perhaps I havent watched as many games Manning has been in as Brady, but I don't see the officiating bias towards Manning like I do Brady. Its not even just against the Fins, its every game I see them in. That along with other players talking about how much they hate the Patriots and Brady, and how they see them as cheaters is telling, you never hear other players badmouthing Manning, there's always respect for him.

They don't. I have a feeling he was trolling, trying to set us up for December. You really think he believes all that ?

Manning does whine a fair amount, a lot like Marino did. Brady's deal is to stalk over to the ref and creepily stare them down with a look that says "One call from my owner to the commish, and you are out of a job, so chuck that flag....I don't care if it's ten seconds after the fact". I'll never forget the time Tom chucked an INT as he was being sacked and they waved it off for roughing the passer. He should just wear a skirt.

They went from basement dwellers to instant SB champions, and then everyone is hailing Brady as the cinderella story of the year(Warner's story was much more compelling than Brady.) He's a pretty face that lucked into winning SBs(two of which were determined by a FG), then has the NFL changing rules designed to favor them, its maddening. The thing is, and this applies to politics and certain conspiracy theories, that if it happens every day in other countries, why not here? If foreign soccer leagues have shown to be crooked, why not America sports leagues? American exceptionalism is bullcrap, we made it up to justify everything we do. Not trying to make this a political thread, I know better, Im just saying you cant be so naive as to think that it never happens here in America too. Do we have our stuff together more than other countries? In a lot of ways yes, but we're still prone to rig the game in our favor if we feel we can get away with it, and that applies to all the major sports leagues. Ask Tim Donnagey.

Normally Im the same way, I wanted to root for them for that reason, but something just never sat well with me about that 2001 season and from then on. Events that have transpired since then have only emboldened me and others who feel the same. I think we've been vindicated.

Did you see at the very end of the game Brady was crying on the sidelines and wiping away the tears. No it wasn't sweat. He was crying like a *****.

It all changed when the NFL picked them to be the golden team. Permitted spygate and changed rules for them.

The Dolphins were the dominate team in the AFC East during the 1970's-80's, and early 1990's and had a winning record over the Patriots during that time period, but it was the Bills they had the long winning streak against during those years and not the Patriots.

The nonsense and lack of football knowledge in this thread is alarming.

Manning has always been surrounded by vastly superior talent than Brady. Manning has never had to rely solely on pygmy receivers or rookies. To claim that he can go to any team and make it better is asinine. Tebow took basically the same team to 1 playoff win. Manning comes in the following year and is one-and-done. He didn't make the team better. They surrounded him with even more talent last year and he got embarrassed in the SB.

I remember the Bills were 0 for the Seventies against us, but I thought that we beat the pats for a double digit stretch as well...either way, for 30 yrs, the Fins were in the situation the pasties have been in the last 12 yrs...

Brady also has had one coach and scheme. He's a product of the system a la Montana. Manning is a system, and no he hasn't always had elite receivers.

Manning has never had the coach that Brady has had most of his career... You can't take away what Manning has done with both the Colts and the Broncs and compare it Brady's situation. It's pretty much accepted that Manning made his skill players. That is not the case with Brady. Brady is a cog in the pastie machine, the main cog, but just a cog (see 2008). Manning IS the team he's playing for...Big difference. However, in regards to personnel surrounding Brady, since Scott Pioli left, Hoodie has been so-so in personnel acquisition, even with more draft picks than Carter has Liver pills... Chalk that up to hoodie, not Brady...

Yes, he has always had elite receivers. As a whole, they have been far superior to Brady's.

Manning makes his receivers look good Brady doesn't. Manning makes his guys All Pro, Brady doesnt. If anything, Moss made Brady look better.

Brady doesn't make Edelman look good? Who would have ever thought that Julian f*cking Edelman would ever be a 1000 yard receiver. Who was Wes Welker before playing with Tom Brady? Deion Branch was the SB MVP while playing with Brady and did absolutely nothing with any other team he has been with.

Tis the system. We wont know though because Brady has only been coached by one guy. Put him on the Jags/Texans/Raiders and let's see.

That's absurd. You want to take Brady and put him on terrible teams that weren't playoff contenders the year before. And you use that as the argument for why Manning is better. But Manning has never done that. He went to a proven Denver team that already had talent and had already won a playoff game with Tim Tebow of all people. He couldn't even win a playoff game with basically the same team the following year.

Welker had a pretty damn good year with Cassell, though I do think Brady makes his receivers look good, just not to the same point that Manning does.

To see the impact of Brady and Manning on their teams, all you have to do is look at the two years they each missed a season due to injury.

The Patriots went on to an 11-5 season with Matt Cassel as the starting QB.

The Colts went from a playoff team with Manning to the team with the worst record in the NFL when Manning went down with an injury.

I take nothing away from Brady. He has been a excellent QB for a long period of time. Yet he has also been fortunate to play for the greatest head coach of the past several decades.

All I know is if I was picking a starting QB in the draft today and both a young Brady and a young Manning were in the draft. I would take Manning over Brady and not think twice about it. Of course if I had the second pick and Manning was already off the board, Brady would certainly be a nice consolation prize.

Some people of course are going to say you need to look at how many SB's each QB has won. I realize that Brady leads in SB wins by a 3-1 margin. I think that has far more to do with the coaching of Belichick than just the mere fact Brady was the Patriots QB. I have no doubt if Manning had been the Patriots QB for the past 14 years, the Patriots would have won a similar number of SB's, if not more.

Brady not only had the good fortune to play for Belichick, he also played for a team with an excellent defense during their SB winning years.

Manning really has never played on a team with a dominant defense and the pressure to win games has always been more on the offense and Manning than it has been on Brady and his offense during the majority of his career.

Here's a telling sign. When Brady went out Cassel maintained the Pats playoff push. When Manning went out, the Colts imploded. That's all you need to know.

That's really not a telling sign at all. The Colts went from 10-6 to 2-14 while basically in rebuilding mode/Suck for Luck mode. The Pats went from 16-0 to 11-5 with a much easier schedule and missed the playoffs.

Easy schedule in the NFL is not like in college, otherwise the 72 Dolphins had it easy. Belichick, like Walsh, implemented a good system that Brady, Cassel and Bledsoe thrived in. Similar to what Andy Reid does with his QBs. Manning is the offense. Brady, while I'll give him credit for improving every year under that system, is a product of Belichick's system.

Great, if Manning "is the offense" then we can blame him for every single offensive miscue on offense his teams have ever had in the playoffs. Which there are many of. His poor career playoff record and pick sixes/bad plays in crucial situations are all on him. I don't see how his vast failures make him a better QB. Unless you consider feasting on poor teams in the regular season and padding his stats being better.
