He looks completely different then any other post game Ive seen...its like..he almost has a personality now...
Thats what im talking about JP. Hes all fired up and rightfully so. "It doesnt matter what name is on the back of the jersey" damn right... well said.
Alright....do you guys think its possible part of his "lack of personality" has simply been grieving? Trust me it happens...it doesn't even have to be death. Losing a person in your life can change you for a good period of time whether you admit it or not internally.
Love these videos! Philbin seems more relaxed and looser this season. I've been saying it since camp opened and I still believe it. He's more sure of himself.
Agreed. Its almost like a different person now and its good to see. The credo is real and the team really seems to be buying into him more and more. I havent given up on JP yet, imo there is no reason to until we see what the team looks like without shermans calls.. I hope we see more of this from him.
Lots of great post-game interviews there...Moreno gave all the credit to the line (pimp), Wake gave credit to everybody (big daddy pimp), and Delmas gave credit to the line, saying that's who the secondary works for. Good stuff.
Couple of years removed from his son's death. I don't think enough people factor that in when they accuse him of lacking in personality.
I honestly never thought that and I used to be a psychologist. Wow. I guess I assumed it was the new role and all the pressure to learn and feel himself out to fit the role and forgot about his loss. All the dad's on here know it would be devastating.
I could certainly see that, especially as I'm going through it now. So many emotions, and everyone deals with it differently. But you do close down a bit.
Hard to say without knowing the guy or his actions prior to that tragedy. But I think absolutely something like that can make you look at football and think.....it's not life or death, and he's right.
I think along those lines also. Hickey has pretty much said he and Philbin are together in everything to do with the players and stuff...maybe they hit it off right and can get some things done. I already LOVE the young depth they have going.
I bring it up because in dealing with death and close personal losses myself I know it took me about 2 1/2 years to really feel like myself again and find my outward identity towards others. Everyone deals differently but it just crossed my mind that its been about 2 years or so for Philbin.
When he said it doesn't matter the name on the back of the jersey, that's the right attitude. He grabbed 31 Michael Thomas. Thomas wasw taken aback a bit at that.
I noticed that too with Thomas, but i figured he was just the guy within arms reach. I dig seeing these speeches. Nice job by Philbin. Hes always been a likeable dude to me from what ive seen, but I do get the impression hes settling in now.
Philbin listens to this in his office...
