Great win and I'd much rather talk all week about the win and all the positives.....

That said, In the heat of battle and when the game was still very much in question, was anyone else saying (ie. yelling, screaming, throwing things) Here we go again with Patriots and the officials!!

    The two calls that REALLY stood out to me and questioned the refs intentions/integrity were;
    1) The no call PI against Hartline on a throw to the sidelines. Patriots defender had him in a head lock as the ball flew by... this was as blatant as it gets. Forced a punt, would have obviously been an automatic first down. It was a big play/change of possession.

    2) An even more egregious no call was Bandon LaFell climbing on Finnengan's back and intentionally grabbing him by the helmet as he broke for an INT along the other sideline. Definition of a mugging and had me irate.

Not a point of emphasis because we won, but had things ended differently, can anyone here justify how these calls were missed? Or do you just chalk it up to the Patriots, the refs, and the NFL.... nothing new.

There were a couple other notables calls that went the Patriots way.... but were more tic tac penalties and weren't blatant.
    - The Finnegan illegal contact penalty where the receiver (just barely) ran into him and Finn appeared to be standing still. Finn didn't even extend his arms or jam him.
    - It appeared Hartline was shielded on a fade route to the back of the end zone. The DB made absolutely no attempt to turn for the ball. (although contact was minor)

In being objective. I have to point out Miami did benefit from the refs protecting Tannehill a couple times. The late flag on the hit to the head was a close call. It appeared Jones' arm hit Tannehill more in the shoulder, even though he did swing his arms high in the direction of Tanny's helmet. And Miami benefitted from a driving the QB into the turf penalty in the first half. Justified penalty, but that call is always subjective to begin with.

I love how people continue to claim the Pats get special treatment when we were penalized 10 times for something like over 100 yards.

They say that because the pats should have been penalized for more. There were at least 3 flagrant penalties that didn't get called.

We got a few calls I wouldn't have expected against them. I did think they missed a couple, especially with tge new emphasis on degensive contact. However overall I was never furious about officiating during the game as I had been in the past.

By 'we' I take it you are a Patriots fan?

Please explain which Penalties you thought were blatantly bad calls against the Patriots?

You can't just spew stats. If New England committed 10 penalties then why shouldn't they be called?

They deserved virtually all of them and more.

Complain about the roughing call all you'd like, but it's completely in line with how the rule is enforced, and has been for some time. It's on the coaching staff to teach what to do, and what not to do, and it's on the player not to do it(and certainly not to repeat it like a dumbass)

The Dolphins getting hosed on pass interference/contact calls is quite different given that the NFL made a huge deal about cracking down on them, and when push comes to shove they enforced it very liberally.

It was 9 for 100 yards I believe. Yes the no call on hartline being manhandled was ridiculous but we also had two personal fouls on Jones go our way.

Of course. The Pats should get penalized for 200 yards each game, and if they don't then that must mean they get special treatment.

Maybe you shouldn't play dirty. Multiple late hits to the qb. Cheap shot on Jimmy Wilson. We see what happens when things aren't going the Pats way.

Don't be dense. The Patriots have had several notable situations where they've had historically notable questionable calls and rule enforcement. You can bring that up while noting conspicuously poor enforcement of pass interference/contact calls without alleging a grand conspiracy.

Exaggeration to prove a point is not an indication of lack of reading comprehension. Of course no one actually claimed that. The point is that no matter what, people will not be satisfied because they have some sort of misconception that the Pats get preferential treatment. They get calls their way that they shouldn't (just like every team does) and they also get calls against them that they shouldn't. Of course, no one ever talks about those because it doesn't fit their agenda.

Are you going to address the pass interference/contact enforcement, or the personal foul issues, or are you going to whine about how mischaracterized the Patriots are?

Our pass rushers have been coached to be disciplined enough to not hit the QB high. With Wheeler out, the most likely culprit for high hits, they did a great job of getting their hits on Brady around the midsection. There were a couple of hits that really softened him up where it was a shoulder pad to the belly just as the pass was thrown.

I already stated that they get calls their way that they should not. Every team does. I can list many calls that have went against us over the years that were the wrong calls, too.

All three of those were blatant and obvious non calls in the Pats favor. LaFell climbing on Finnegan was the most egregious IMO.

    Just stop.

From the Tuck Rule to last year's abortion of a call against us when we were trying to pick up a fumble, you have no right to get indignant about the refs felating you guys.

Ya those were obvious and pathetic non-calls. Good thing we played well enough to beat them and the Pats.

Did anyone see the refs helping Tannehill up after he got hit? I didnt look but I never noticed it. I know the refs were right there with an open arm to Brady every time he was on the ground.

Not quite full blown felatio, but it was definitely an eyebrow raiser in the first half when the ref picked Brady up off the ground after a Came Wake knockdown.
    I was shaking my head!

Gumble: "Have you ever seen a ref pick a quarterback up like that?
Green: " You don't see that, I know no refs ever picked me out of the turf!"

I definitely saw the same ref picking up Tannehill at least once. He did it more often with Brady but that might have something to do with The Kraken ;-)

Many of those were blatant, indefensible errors by the refs. That's kind of obvious when the Pats' fan resorts to exaggeration and the old "there have been calls that went against us over the years" defense. I expect that the refs responsible will be graded poorly and the Dolphins will receive one of those league apology letters.

Can you stop whining like a ***** and just get back to trolling? Jesus, just tell us how smart you are again or something. ANYTHING.

The Patriots have gotten away with some absolutely historic bad/non-calls. That's relevant when you're bringing up a game where they got the benefit of bad referring.

Loved watching the Dolphins Beat up the Pats. Hope they do the same with the Jets twice this season. Miami looks to be the strongest team in their division after week 1.

What's sad is that Dolphins fans lack any kind of knowledge in regards to football, and sports in general, and they believe that 1 game is an indication that the Patriots are in decline while Miami is poised to win the division.

yes they did on at least one of those hits. was strange for a moment I almost felt like a Pats fan getting those calls for roughing the passer, couldn't help but wonder if they would have been called last year..

You're not stating facts. Stating a fact would be something along the lines of quoting how often the Patriots are penalized during a time-frame suggesting them to be in a normal range, or qualifying those statistics in "key situations" somehow. You're giving your opinion. You should know the difference, they literally teach this in middle school.

You've avoided commenting on virtually everything that was more technically detailed than whiny platitudes and super villain style "I'LL GET YOU KIDS NEXT TIME" style banter. Give me a break.

That the Patriots have gotten calls against them which were bad calls is not an opinion. It's a fact. I even posted a video of one. I haven't kept track of the number of times it has happened over the years nor am I going to re-watch hundreds of games just to prove something to some random person online.

Anyways, it was you who made the claim that the Pats get preferential treatment. Therefore the burden of proof is on you to show that the Pats get calls in their favor more than other teams.

Didn't Section compile a list or something of the sorts about the Zebras-Pats alliance last year? I can't remember, but I believe it had to do more with the situations in which the flags were thrown (see: Patriots offensive possessions in game-winning situations) than the quantity. That Panthers call was a bad call, I'll give him that, but was it enough to really outweigh all of the beneficial ones that team has gotten over all of this time? Hard to believe.

I used to be a perpetual "ref hater" since so many calls are missed against us, and the two penalties to Hartline did have me irate. Then I realized something though; what good does it do to get pissed over refs missing a call? Regardless of whether or not they did it intentionally, there is zero recourse except to see the league hand out those nice little fines....which that defender certainly deserved after trying to tear Hartline's neck off. I don't linger on it anymore though because it's a part of football....you have to win DESPITE the calls on the field. If we lose because of a blown call, then we really need to look at those 15+ other wasted drives and find something more important to blame. That's what good teams do.

It's sort of like Dana White and the Ultimate Fighter...every season he tells everybody, "You're an idiot if you let 3 refs decide your fate. If you want to win, then win, and don't leave it in the hands of the judges." I now have the same outlook on the NFL.
