Stafford is thriving in their new system so far and has already hit Johnson twice for scores. Reggie has a couple nice catches. Their OC came over from new Orleans and is balling thus far.

Meanwhile the Giants have looked pretty bad up until this last drive where a couple penalties helped them out (one being a running into the kicker). Manning looked uncomfortable and was off target on some passes. Ben mcadoo (the guy we almost hired) called two fade routes to the same side and it was 1st down on the Detroit 1 yard line... Yikes.

Momentum shifting a bit, two straight 3 and outs for Stafford and co.

You don't plan to stop Calvin Johnson IMO.

Double team, triple team, quadruple team. Doesn't matter, he is going to put up numbers. He is that great. In my opinion you look to shut down the rest of the options Stafford has and just try your best to limit Johnson with Grimes/Finnegan and a safety.

IMO NYG will make the playoffs and win the NFC East. They are my second favorite team since I started watching football. I had to choose between Marino and the Marks brothers or LT and Simms. But I always want the Giants to win when they dont play the Phins.

Eli is new to this offense but I think regardless of what happens tonight we wont know what this team is until about mid way because its a new system on offense and they improved their back 7 a lot. They went crazy on highly ranked PFF CB's this offseason, adding DRC and Walter Thurmond, keeping Trumaine Mcbride and gettinga healthy Stevie Brown back.

I'm more worried about Bush killing us out of the back field. Remember Sproles last year?

I'm same way. Giants are the only other team I root for, going back to the days of LT and Simms.
and as bad as they look now, remember, they started 0-6 and then won 7/10 to end the season. I predict another 7 win season.

Eli Manning is terrible. He used to be good and at times able to dial it up to great. Lately he is just miserable. Almost to the point where (I dont know how badly this would hurt their cap) I'd be willing to trade Manning if I had a suitor. Take my lumps and draft a QB early.

Giants problem is the inability to establish running game. Giants are a run, play action and long pass team, and Eli throws some of the most beautiful long passes ever. They've been trying to implement short passing offense to compensate for runs, but they are not on the same page, big-time work in progress. The defense is off too, poor communication in the backfield.

I don't like Eli much but in his defense... other than Victor Cruz who is nothing but a slot receiver, they got nothing surrounding him... Coughlin has done a very bad job with drafting/acquiring offensive talent the past 3 years. He's boneheaded too, he had a shot at Desean Jackson but because he wants high character guys he passed. Jackson would have signed with NY in a heartbeat.

The one thing he did right was letting go of Hakeen Nicks, yesterday he was a complete no show for Luck and Luck had to rely on Hilton and Wayne...

Anyways it's the Eagles division to lose, Redskins are terrible, Giants suck and Cowboys have Romo....

Looks like stafford finally got off his lazy *** and got in better condition, been saying that since his rookie season, him and romo.

Fantasy owners of him will benefit, took him long enough to figure it out...disgraceful.

Can I go out and say I miss Reggie?

At least it seems we have finally and properly filled in that position now with Moreno, but 2013 was a year without reliable running and if Bush was resigned who knows what might have happened.

Great post. The giants will be a second half team. They are still in preseason form w the new offense

Are they still in preseason form with their defense? They left guys WIDE open all game long.

Coughlin isn't the GM; that would be Jerry Reese. And yes, since he lost Dave Gettleman to Carolina, I'm not impressed by the job he's done. He's gotten a lot of credit for the two SB wins they had even though Ernie Accorsi laid the foundation there and did the majority of the heavy lifting. Other then drafting JPP, finding Cruz/Stevie Brown and a few others I'm not all that impressed by Reese but the Mara family is ultra loyal and they won't can him unless the team bottoms out. I'm not sure dealing Desean to the NYG would have made a huge difference...they need a Split End and a Flanker since Cruz is best as a slot guy who can run every route from the slot. And they need a TE.
