When your heart starts racing 100 mph and you feel like your going to pass out then it is time to stop.
you should have known better. glad to hear you didn't die of a heart attack. I see friends of my daughter (whose in 6th grade) drinking those things. She's not allowed to drink them, don't even allow them in my house when other kids come over. I even tease my adult friends for drinking them.
I use their N-zero extreme. It has no creatine and is designed for people who want to build lean muscle mass and are focusing on endurance training rather than bulking. It tastes great and really helps get me through those long training days.
Today I feel almost back to normal. Almost felt like afterwards I had the flu taking that stuff as well.
I've heard of people over doing the pre workout and panicking and going to the hospital. I always use a pinch under a full scoop, and only use it prior to weight lifting. And you should cycle off of it every month or two.

Most of those types of protein drinks are actually more effective post workout anyway where it can speed up recovery time. Taking it before your workout isnt going to help much (its more a mental thing) but taking it after your workout when the nutrients from said protein shakes can be absorbed in to broken down muscle is going to speed recovery time and help rebuild broken down muscle fibers much stronger. And for the record, the 4 pack of GNC lean shakes work fine for like $7. My preference though is actually Clif Protein bars since you can actually pronounce whats in them and theyre actually made from ingredients that are good for you. http://www.clifbar.com/products/builders/builders
IMO if you take an energy drink before working out you may as well save your money and just take caffeine pills.
That stuff gave me a bad rash, people say it's due to the Niacin flush but honestly, it was a very red, rash all over my face and chest... no thanks.. (edit, some reason the link I provided re-directed to another product, don't know why). Above is a screen shot from bodybuilding.com This is what I have daily and it is all I need, beta alanine is an ingredient on most pre workout drinks including C4. 250 servings for 15.00. I don't need an energy boost to get by my workouts, I just need something to help with fatigue/endurance. The NOW brand also sells other pure ingredients that you find in pre workouts, so you can search them up, and mix in your own ingredients and create your own pre workout drink.
