http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2014/09/10/cam-wake-named-afc-defensive-player-of-the-week/ Well deserved!
Nice to see him get that over J.J. Watt this week! Cam's got an interesting matchup as Buffalo's RT is Seantreal Henderson. I think most on this board are at least somewhat familiar with him as he played at the "U" and Miami met/worked him out several times leading up to the Draft this past offseason. Hopefully Wake takes him to school.
Will be interesting to see how our own OT has learned from Wake. He didn't take it easy on the new kid during camp. He should be more than ready to handle Mario this weekend.
There's not a RT in football that can consistently handle a healthy Cam Wake. Henderson may be good... Cam Wake is a man among boys.
I called it: http://www.thephins.com/forums/show...eserves-a-ton-of-credit&p=2402563#post2402563 Now my son has to wash my car -- never bet against Cam Wake! Does anyone know if there is a mater list of players of the week on the web. It seems the NFL just does a press release every Wednesday but there's no historical record.
Gosder Cherilus is about the only one I've seen that's done it - week 2 at Indy last year. Aside from that though, you're right.
Based on Henderson's play this preseason, he's better than I ever thought he'd be - he won the job outright over Cyrus Kouandjio and they moved Erik Pears inside because of Henderson. He's also BIG as far as right tackles go. If there are types that do slow Wake down, it's those guys - Gosder Cherilus did it, Austin Howard did it, Andre Smith did it to a degree the first time they played Cincinnati (i.e. not last year's 3 sack game, but 2012). Henderson fits that mold. Hopefully Wake's quickness is something Henderson can't handle. I would have been interested to see how Wake did against D.J. Fluker last year, but that was the game Fluker had to play left tackle for the Chargers.
