I think it is a big game because wins like this on the road can give the team greater confidence and help develop momentum.

Plus, in some ways Buffalo has been to Miami what Miami has been to the Patriots - a bad matchup.

It's not a massive game but it can be a difference maker. I just want to see us play better, improved play from RT and get a W.

Your on crack if you don't think the weather conditions in Buffalo last year had nothing to do with our loss. Rofl...have you ever in your life been in weather like this...:

Temperature that day was 37 degrees. For the day, they saw 1.38 inchs of rain. Winds were out of the NE..with wind speeds in the 30 mph range.

32 it is snowing. 37..and steady rain, with winds at 30 mph...is basically liquid ice blowing into every crack and crevice that can be reached. Your hands are numb, and wet. You cant wipe it away like snow.

Those are by far probably the worst conditions to play in. You cant have made that comment, and actually experienced it before. I love how people who have never actually...you know ...done something in weather like that...yet can tell everyone it should have had no impact.

Just cold...? Hell..you can play in 10-15 degress with light wind and light snow and it be light years better then that crap they played in.

I played league softball in those conditions, and worse (in Adak, Alaska)...sometimes it was like 10-20 degrees, and we ALWAYS had a 35 MPH wind. I can categorically state it is a lot tougher compared to playing in nice weather...anything involving any contact with the body is worse.

Yeppers. Would much rather have preferred the weather from that 08 Kansas City game to the one in Buffalo last season. It was 18 degrees but it was a dry 18 degrees.

I would say....Id take your WR unit over ours after Watkins has had a year or two under his belt. I think Woods is pretty young as well....

Wallace is well....Wallace..but Hartline and Gibson are exceptional professional football players, and what I mean by that is, they know routes ..the importance for coming back for the ball...all those veteran nuances that are so huge now a days in the NFL. But just raw talent alone...yeh...Buffalo is sitting pretty with their WR bunch. Watkins could be COULD BE...Calvin Johnson dominant at some point, IMO.

RB's....eh...that's a tough one. Fred Jackson just keeps on keepin on...no doubt about that. You gotta love players like him. CJ hasn't really put it all together yet.....but at the end, Id probably have to agree with you on that.

It should be a really good game....where funny thing is...both teams are hurting at LB right now...and both teams will probably look to exploit that.

If someone wants to know what its like....

Walk into a walk in beer cooler, and have someone blow water at you....at 30 mph....for 3 hours.

The thing about weather like that is....this. It sucks. If the game was going well....you can get by...but as soon as it heads south, all the sudden you cant stay warm, you cant stay dry, and all the sudden all your thinking about is how uncomfortable you are. Its the wet raw that is the issue....playing in the snow is nothing. Snow is dry for the most part, its not liquid ice being poured all over you with a constant cold wind sapping every ounce of energy you have. It kills you physically and mentally....and they are from South Florida..lol.

I'm hoping CJ returns to 2012 form where he did put it all together. He's in a contract year, so he has that extra incentive!

Our WR corps is young, and yes, Woods is a second year reciever. Woods was touted as the most polished reciever in the 2013 draft, and is known for his crisp route running. He plays more like a veteran than you would think. Yes, Gibson and Hartline win when it comes to the consumate professional tag, and they certainly live up to that name. The Bills recievers are FAST, Goodwin puting up a 4.27 40 and showed great ability last year, though invisible last game. Then you have Watkins and Woods who are no slouches either when it comes to speed. See the Miami herald for an article on our WR's speed.

I guess it comes down to what you want in your WRs. Mike Williams gives the Bills stability like Gibson or Hartline would, and it showed last week with two huge catches to extend drive, one right before Fred's long run to the 1 to seal the drive. Wallace gives the Fins the big play potention that Watkins, Woods, and Goodwin give the Bills. For me, its a big edge for the Bills, but that's only an opinion of course!

Why is it not Sunday yet?

your defense still gave up 427 yards, 349 yards through the air, it will be a hard fought game, but in a game like that i take tannehill over manuel

Our offense versus your defense is an important story in this game. Lazor will find a way to generate alignment challenges for your defense. Your individual defensive players are going to make choices that will favor either running the ball or passing the ball. It is up to Tannehill to make the correct choice.

Here are the situations where offense will have trouble:

    1. When in an alignment that favors running, your defense shuts down the run.
    2. When in alignment that favors passing, Tannehill fails to execute.
    3. Tannehill misreads the alignment or he fails to make the correct choice while executing the play.

Without Gilmore who is returning, and Bradham who's better coverage linebacker than Preston Brown. Also, those two monsters on the outside are better than both of our teams WRs. They're going to be tough to contain for any team.

Both L's to the Bills last year were mainly caused by the horawful O-Line. In both games the Bills didn't really produce a lot of offense. Most of their points were as a result of the Phins crappy offense.

The Bills apparently have a really poor run defense. If the Phins can do what they did against the Patriots on the ground, we could see a dominating performance from the Dolphins.

Playing in the Ralph is never easy for the Dolphins though. So we'll see.

With KC and the Raiders coming up next (both bad teams IMHO) I don't see this as a must win at all.

The more and more I look at this..the more and more I think Dolphins win this bye 10 or more

The reason why is..I think we are running Bill Lazors offense very well as far as he has opened it up. Keep in mind..Bill Belichick spent an entire week practicing against the eagles. They knew what we were going to be running..everything off the inside run..but yet they couldnt stop it. Doug Marone never really played against it in Syracuse...the Bills havent seen it yet..and they dont run it as an offense to practice against it.

We're 1-0 with that win coming against probably the best team in the division. A game on the road in week 2 isn't a must-win.

That said...I expect a win. Moreno has made a world of difference for this offense. He's a game-changer, and has done more for this unit than I imagined possible. May turn out to be one of if not the best FA pickup this year in the League. We could see the emergence of Beast-mode South.

The passing game is going to take some time to click, imo, and when I checked out a Bills practice live I was actually really impressed with their (healthy) secondary, especially the depth (Gilmore, Graham, Robey, Searcy, McKelvin at #2). Playmaking guys roaming for turnovers. You saw last week that they gave up yardage but were able to keep the Bears to 20 points because they turned them over three times. That's their priority, from what I've seen.

They've got some real gamblers out there, guys with good ball skills (Graham and Robey especially). I caught a joint practice they did with the Steelers, and in one-on-ones and scrimmages against Brown/Wheaton there were quite a few picks but also a several big plays let up.

I think we'll lean on the run game and a bunch of misdirection/screens to put their suspect LBs on an island with tough covers and decisions. I expect lots of Clay and RB catches underneath. Matt Forte and Martellus Bennett each had 8 catches last week...the Bills are vulnerable there.

Just play smart football on the road, block out the noise, be totally in your zone, stay together, and act like you've been there before, they only way they can beat us is if their home field energy affects our guys.

Really if you just look at moving the ball not scoring...weve moved the ball at will for the most part. Any time weve been stopped..has been us stopping ourselves. Look back to preseason...what defense has stopped us from moving the ball?

The main issue this week is the crazy divisional nature of the game. You can always lose to a division rival. But make no mistake, we beat up a great team week one. A team who has cohesion and HOFers and All Pros and pro bowlers at every unit of both offense and defense. If not for a few freak turn overs in the first half, we'd have forty burgered them in a rout. And not a gimmicky wild cat rout. Just us vs them, straight up *** whippin.

And so 6-10 Buffalo goes in to 8-8 Chicago(who has possibly the most putrid defense in the NFL) and wins. And now they are world beaters?

They are now over confident. We know we are good here, and we should have the disgusting taste of last seasons's sweep fresh on our palate. We need to go in on fire, and take them apart. We ain't Chicago, and our defense better beat the snot out of them...let them know there is still defense being played in this league.

Let's see whose D line is better, and which team is better.

I don't see this as a must win unless your definition is that every division game is a must win. Since many division championships have been won with out winning every division game, winning every division game is clearly not a "must".

As for the game, I believe Miami is the better team, but that Buffalo has the emotional edge. I expect that Miami will have to weather the opening emotion by playing sound, mistake free football. If they get past that then the emotional edge will dissipate. Last year Buffalo was well matched up to take advantage of our weaknesses. I don't believe we have the same weaknesses anymore or at least that our OC is smart enough to play to our strengths and mix it up enough so that the D can't just tee off on those weaknesses.

I think Buffalo is going to have a let-down after winning on the road as an underdog, and then being a favorite in their home opener.

    Here's hoping.

This doesn't invalidate your opinion, but most of the lines I've seen have the game as a pick'em rather than them as a favorite.

I should have wrote this is a must win if we are true contenders first the afc east.If we win today we will be 2-0 in the division and take advantage of playing the bills in 60 degree weather. We play at the jets and pats in decemember and todays game could mean the difference between 4-2 in the division and 3-3.I was very impressed as all us are with the physical beating we gave the pats.Expectations went up a notch!
I feel we need to weather the emotional storm early and if we get better play from the passing game we beat this team by 10 pts or more.

So basically you are stating that if the Dolphins don't win today, in week 2 of the season, we can just give up and forget about the rest of the season.

Personally I expect the Dolphins to be a team to contend for the AFC East title, win or lose today. The Dolphins have a recent history of not playing well against the Bills, especially in Buffalo.

While the Dolphins are an improved team from last year, so are the Bills and the Bills beat the Dolphins twice last year with a backup QB. Of course if was really the play of the Bills defense against the Dolphins offense which was the major factor in those wins.

I expect this to be a closer game than the last game in Buffalo and while I think the Dolphins can certainly win the game. It will not surprise me in the least if the Bills defense once again is able to create problems for the Dolphins offense and Tannehill. I see this as a game where it will be up to the defense of the Dolphins to stop the run of the Bills and therefore force Manuel to beat them with the pass. If the Bills are able to run the ball consistently and the Dolphins offense has trouble running the ball, another victory over the Dolphins by the Bills is quite likely.

No! As history of this team shows. We will be back to wildcard contention because once again we get a big win only to **** the bed against a division rival.
I still don't see the bills as improved because they beat the overated bears.
