He definitely locked good. Gonna have a shot to lock up that WOLB spot for years to come. Let's see if he seizes the opportunity.

Looks like he's taken over where he left off at the end of last year.. all reports was he beasted in the offseason and worked very hard on his craft, man he looked real good on Vareens out and up from the backfield, just exploded to the flat right at him on the diagnose, then flipped his hips when Vareen went up the sideline, it was beautiful man.

Gotta always keep in mind the kid was the #1 linebacker coming into college, standing up against the run inside that bloodzone is what were all waiting to see, if he can become real physical there we will have a real full time player, he's very strong so I don't know why he couldn't.

Jenkins represents and interesting, but potentially good problem to have. Operating under the assumption that Miami's going to jettison Ellerbe, and his contract, after this year that leaves you with Jenkins and Tripp at the WILL LB spot. I'd like to think that Jenkins' athleticism gives him an edge there and allows Miami to continue grooming Tripp at MLB. The Bills game tomorrow represents a BIG test for Jenkins. Here's hoping he does well.

He has a chance to never give up his spot 2maro, regardless of who's on the team, or who's thumb gets better....Yeah I want Tripp at mike as well, another 10 lbs he should be good.

As well as Jenkins covered the TEs in Week 1, I don't see why he couldn't be considered for Sam too.

I did not think he was making plays before, this was his coming out game, hopefully. He is 22.

He's been inconsistently good when called upon in the past. In other words had his moments of solid play but also moments that make you wonder. That is normal for a young guy though. You just hope he can become consistent in what he does well and keeps making quick reads/

IMO, he's NOWHERE near good enough at defending the run, and to my knowledge, has never played on the strong side. Can he even hold the POA?

The way I see it, you could have Jenkins, Misi, and Wheeler (Will-Mike-Sam) for the remainder of this year as starters with Tripp, Trusnik, and Sheppard/McCain as guys worth keeping moving forward. Jonathan Freeny doesn't really do anything for me. I'd jettison him after this year along with Ellerbe ($) and I'd essentially give Wheeler this year to prove whether or not it's worth keeping him.

If Wheeler falters (I'm 50/50 at the moment on him) I think you could see Jenkins (Will) Misi (Mike or Sam) and Sheppard (Sam or Mike) competing with McCain (Sam) moving into next year if Misi plays well.

Denzel Perryman intrigues me as far as draft prospects go, though to be honest I've not seen much college football this year...travel for work is killing my Saturdays.

Kid was a rookie last year, he's in his 2nd year and improving at the NFL level while dudes are getting drunk at frat parties right now.

This is a young player who's getting expedited experience, will be 22 years old all the way to the spring...

That's incredible.I've said this a few times, but I'll say it again, I don't think he showed inconsistency at all, I think for his exp and age, he was very disciplined in his assignments, most of the time being in the right place.

So, a theory of mine for this player is that with all that discipline, once he learns the game and he doesn't have to think anymore, don't forget we're talking about a player with a high level of athleticism..so lets hope that the athleticism starts to flash much more, I surely did see it explode on that one play, that was a serious flash..he looked like Dion Jordan at 245 on that one..lol

My gripe with him was not being physical against the run, but Jesus, he was literally a teenager.

Same here. At the point in time Buffalo released him they didn't have much talent, save for Nigel Bradham IIRC, at LB. Even then, I don't think Bradham really started to improve until late last year and into camp this year, from what I've heard about him. But, they got rid of Sheppard anyway and so did Indy. Granted, the Colts have a lot of...um...bodies at ILB in their scheme so I guess I can see why they passed on him.

I have a similar gripe with him against the run, but I think a lot of it has to do with not having great instincts for the position. I'm not as optimistic about him at that position as others, but I hope he does develop and proves me wrong. It's early and certainly possible.

    Well away from here
This is a great opportunity for him to show he can succeed. Now, this week he must show that he can display some consistency. He will have ups and down throughout the season, but putting back to back decent to solid games would be a huge step in the right direction.

Wheeler better not sniff the field Sunday, unless he is blitzing.

Check it out Sceet, he was literally one month away from being a 20 year old drafted Miami dolphin...that's about as young as you can enter the league bro..I mean Jesus, the kid hasn't even finished growing lol..

It's really young to the enter the league is all I'm saying..I wasn't his biggest fan coming out of college but he's definitely put me on notice, mis evaluation on my part relative to what he's shown thus far.

He really closes the gap fast in pass coverage.

He was criticized for his preseason performance, but if he can answer the bell like he did against the Pats, he's got a bright future.

Jenkins is clearly still developing IMO. In coverage he seems to have sound awareness in coverage, and he shows good instincts in man coverage as far as his keys and assignments go. I think the Vereen play that DJ referred to earlier is a great example. However, in the run game he doesn't show quite the instincts, or maybe they are there he just doesn't trust them as much because he tends to hesitate.
I personally think its just an experience thing…I think the instincts are above average he just doesn't trust them yet, especially in the run game because he hasn't been tasked with that nearly as often.

Oops. I was referring to Misi. At the time, I was posting in different threads and may have put that response in the wrong thread. I was responding to a Misi comment. Obviously, I like and agree with you on Jenkins. LOL!!
