We've been this ever since Marino and Shula left. It sucks going into each season knowing your not an elite team.

It all starts with the quarterback until you have an elite qb ....

True. Tannehill isnt really that big of an upgrade from Moore.

Is Dalton elite? Is Foles elite? Rivers? Cutler?

You just can't have an average QB and suck everywhere else like we do. Playcalling was atrocious yesterday, that isn't the QB's responsibility.

Getting rid of Philbin will be a start. Finding a franchise QB is in there too.

All of those guys are light years beyond Tannehill at this point. Please don't compare Tannehill to Rivers. If he ever reaches that level I will jump for joy. Rivers is the most underrated QB in the game by far.

I disagree, that you need an elite quarterback. Plenty quarterbacks wearing rings that weren't elite. This will always be a team game that requires many things to happen to win a championship. Having an elite qb allows for a team to overcome shortcomings in other areas. This is a talented team that came out with zero emotion yesterday and never seemed ready to play. Poor execution, is a coaching problem, but for the life of me I can't understand how a professional athlete, making more money in the game then I could spend in years, isn't emotionally ready to play the game. How do you come out flat. How do you stand on the sideline of that field, and not be so fired up and emotionally dedicated to give it 110%.

LMAO Rivers has more ups and downs than a roller coaster, please get real with Rivers, hell there was mild talk SD would replace him 2 years ago. He isnt light years ahead of tannehill and has 10 years in the league.

Seriously here come all the qb experts.

When the team plays as bad this team did, not even Manning wins that game.

They also have solid linesmen in front of them, reliable run games, and receivers that make plays from nothing. On top of that they all have good offensive play-calling that keeps the pressure off of the QB and allows him to build confidence.

We saw how bad Brady looked when his OL couldn't protect him, and that's what is happening here too. The fact that Ryan went 31 for 49 and had 241yds is incredible considering the god awful work upfront. Also the fact that he had to attempt 49 passes is discouraging and a further knock against the playcaller.

Last season Rivers had 32 touchdowns, 11 interceptions, and completed 69.5% of his passes for a rating of 105.5.

Right now, Rivers at 10 years is light years away from Tannehill at 2 years.

When regardless of mistakes made on the field, or question marks on the roster, or coaching question marks, or in spite of ownership or front office gaffs, we simply score just 1 more point then the opponent for a given week. Just like under the Shula glory days. Thats all it ever comes down to.

Last year, what about year before that a d year before that? Plenty of video to prove Rivets had at times looked very pedestrian and very good. But his bad is bad

When he had the terrible ratings of 88?

That was of course when he had three seasons of over 100 rating.

All quarterbacks at times have tape when they look bad. You can create a highlight tape of Tom Brady and make him look like a crappy quarterback.

Rivers is not a very likable guy, however he is a great quarterback. Much better than Eli Manning.

I'm honestly shocked people are saying Tannehill is as good as Rivers. SMH.

When they get a real GM. I would say when they get a new owner but Stephen Ross isn't going anywhere, we can win with him as owner, he just has to be willing to make certain sacrifices to land the men that will turn the team around.

They may not be elite, but I would take anyone of them over Tannehill. Unfortunately I don't think any of the teams with the QB's you mentioned would be willing to trade their QB for Tannehill. So we are stuck with him for at least this season.

It's been way more than 10 this time.

We lose one game on the road to a division rival and people are jumping off the bridge. I just don't get it.

Answer: This December, the Phins will have a double digit win record and will no longer be mediocre. Daniel Thomas earns breakout player of the year (can't comeback from never being good)....

<takes another huff off paint can>

....and Tanny connects deep to Wallace consistently and hits the backs perfectly in stride on screens.
