There's a difference between wishing a guy the best and giving an opinion that he's not going to live up to those wishes. Some people make the mistake of thinking that being a fan means always thinking the best about every facet of your team all the time. No, it doesn't. It means supporting your team and rooting for them no matter if they're bad or good. It doesn't mean closing your eyes to their shortcomings.
Commenting that drafting Jordan was yet another waste of a ridiculously high pick, and that it's time to move on, is not taking a dump on anyone. It's reality. Call me unduly judgmental, insensitive and a bad fan if you like, but this kid needs some serious help, not a roster spot. Remember Dimitrius Underwood. People with deep-seated personality disorders or mental illness shouldn't be playing pro football. They should be getting therapy. You have to be seriously ill to be picked third overall in the NFL draft and blow the opportunity to be set for life.
Unless owners and league officials are going to hold themselves to the same standards and face equally severe consequences they should mind their own business. Bunch of hypocrites. Jordon likes to party it is not giving him an unfair advantage on the field. This should be a team issue
That may be how you feel, but I'd like you to explain to your boss that you like to party and he shouldn't drug test you because you're sure your boss likes to party just as much as you. Im all for removing penalties for mj users and such but you still have to obey the rules or risk your career like the rest of us.
While i read the articles about Jordan, i have to say that when he was drafted by us, i still have vivid memories that a lot of Jets fan went crazy about it. I was like, "Y'all keep barkin' and cursin' us, we will take the next J.T.". But damn...guess they were right tho.. We could've take Lane Johnson and that's what everybody expected. But then again, Lane Johnson suspended too.
Im not being paid millions of dollars to do my job either. I love Mary Jane, but if you told me you'll pay me millions to work and one of those conditions is to not do it, well I shouldn't do it. I hope the NFL one day stops testing for recreational drug use altogether, but until then these players are to follow NFL policy or risk suspension. Just like every other job. If my company decided to test me and I fail, that's my problem. Time to get a new job. Not the company's fault I failed. I'm pretty far to the left politically but personal responsibility has to considered at some point. I hope DJ gets help because its obvious something isn't right with his head. Add him to the list of many Dolphins players with mental issues that we've had.
Im not saying your opinion is wrong. I am saying that it is not in the league's interest but they are choosing to involve themselves in the players personal lives. Also not to split hairs but the leauge does not employ the players. Players work for the teams. I would like to know how often Goodell and his people are tested and if they are if they are suspended without pay. What is good for the goose should be good for the gander.
I didn't understand the pick when it went down. We had Vernon here, Wake was here, Shelby was showing promise...We had depth already at the one position we weren't weak at. We all know how crappy the O Line was last year...I thought Lane Johnson should have been the pick. Suspended or not, Jordan hasn't done anything to warrant being that top three pick and I doubt he ever will. This was a wasted pick in my opinion. Him getting suspended just adds to further frustration.
