@OmarKelly Dolphins just passed 70K in attendance for this weekend’s Aqua Out game vs the Chiefs. Wonder how accurate that is? Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-N900A using Tapatalk
I realize that its hot and extremely humid, but how hot is the sun beating down after 4:30pm in September?
Hot enough to make you drop a bucket of sweat just walking across the street to the gas station for a drink. Florida is hell on earth when the sun is up at any time. Sometimes the humidity is still unbearable even after it goes down.
In Miami? Pretty hot. It's not really any better than it is at 1pm. No relief until the sun goes down.
It's actually a great idea, especially with the four o'clock start time..it also makes people get their asses in their seats early.. It all should create a good energy inside.
You know how you sear a piece of meat in a skillet on the stove and then finish it in the oven? 1pm is the stove and 4 pm is the oven Sent from my Note 3
Yeah guys, I know that its hot. And I know that its hot after the sun goes down as well. But if the heat isnt coming from the sunshine, the color of the jersey doesn't effect it one way or another, that was my point. They wear white at 1pm because of the glare making the dark jersey hotter than the white one. At 4pm, there cannot be that same effect, especially later in the season.
Look it up..dark colors absorb more light then light colors do If their is still sunlight at 430..the dark colors will absorb more then the white jerseys do. Couple that with the heat and humidity.. But since the sun is directly above you at one..I would imagine it would not be as intense. Also..if its cloudy would negate the advantage.
At 4:30 the heat -is- coming from the sunshine. Sometimes it's worse than at 1 PM. Sometimes the heat from the sun isn't better until about 6 PM (give or take depending on season)
I guess it probably varies depending on where you are. Here, in VA, the hottest time of the day is around 1pm usually. When its hot, the sun is beating down and you absolutely feel it, and much morso in the summer. Even if its the same temperature, 80 in August feels hotter than 80 in October, for example, because of where the sun is. By 4pm, the sun is on its way to setting in the fall, and at my house is already behind the trees. Any heat is then residual, and not "glare/shine based". It may still be hot, but its not due to the sun beating down on you. With Miami being much closer to the equator, perhaps the sun's effect is different. I didn't mean to stir anything up, just curious about the reality.
The key to a nice piece of oven roasted chicken, crisp that skin up face down in your skillset with a combination of butter and olive oil, (not extra virgin, regular) salt and pepper your skin well, get the pan nice and hot, sear it, do not touch it but don't let the skin brown, get it a nice rich color, then turn it over..then put it in a hot oven, once done, remove the chicken, put it back on the stove, and lets make a sauce, take some white whine, fresh garlic, lemon and chopped thyme, throw in your chopped garlic and get it light brown in the stuff that was in the LAN already that came out of the oven, then deglaze that pan with that whine, tyme and lemon juice, scrape up the bits with a wooden spin, let it simmer for a couple minutes, and finish with a pat of butter.. Have your home made mashed potatoes ready on a plate, put a couple of pieces of chicken on top, then pour the juices and sauce from the pan over everything.
Like I said It's a great idea..I respect whoever is in charge that came up with it, the inside of the stadium has parts that have already been painted aqua, the endzones will be aqua, it's gonna really really cool..it was also smart to do this when you have a four o'clock start time, wouldn't of worked at 1, there's always more energy by the fans from 4 to 7, and I'm sure will engage the fans vociferously..I'm sure the players will respond with a higher level of performance..
There's plenty of sunlight until around 6pm in the afternoon. The first half is gonna be rough on the team in darks.
Sounds silly but it's the exact reason why I like four o'clock games..it's one of the rare times where our fans actually engage themselves somewhat because they simply are not fighting the heat, I Think it's a better advantage then going for heat to wilt opponent.
Now if we can just get stadium staff to stop telling Dolphin fans to sit down and be quiet...we may have something.
If true, it all adds up to the culture that we have..it's actually unacceptable, kinda like Jimmy Wilson's tackling ability..your fired!! Suits don't get it, doesn't seem like the ever will...look at what they did in frisco, not one angle of building the stadium design to intimidate the opponent.all about wifi, big screens and fancy restaurants, it ain't no suprise to me they've lost at home multiple times already..even when they have the blueprint right in their division and can see it's impact on and off the field, they still didn't take any measures to ensure they would have a 12 the man by design..it blows my mind. The true way to get fans to the ballpark is to take measure to engage them, not distract them...idiots...yes I said idiots.
Are we not going all aqua? Just read an article saying we were. I love the aqua out idea but why in September? The heat in September is such a huge advantage for us. Why not do this on Thursday night vs the Bills? That seems like the perfect time. Why wear dark colors when it's going to be 90 degrees and 80% humidity?
James Walker @JamesWalkerNFL 1m BTW, the #Dolphins are going all-white everything today with aqua socks.
I thought they sold 70,000 tickets? Did they sell them to ghosts? Looks more like an Orange Out than an Aqua Out...
We are a horrible organization of misinformation, and stupid decisions on and off the field. too funny. How can you screw that up. Only Ross!!!
A marketing fiasco all around....have to be 10's of thousand of shirts on their way to a 3rd world country. TV showed, more red Chiefs shirts then Aqua in the stands, and orange empty seats....plus our own team wears all Whites when stories were released saying it would be all aqua, etc. baffoons. Way to go Ross!
Absolutely. What fool decided to market "aqua out" when the team would be wearing all white? Would any other NFL team do that? And the were stories ALL WEEK that the team would be wearing Aqua until the CEO tweeted late that they wouldn't.
So the team didnt hand out shirts like they said they would.??? There were a lot of empty seats so I couldnt really tell by watching the game but I was wondering where all the aqua was that I heard about all week.
