Reading along, I feel like I fell asleep, woke up 6 weeks later, the Dolphins were 1-7, Tannehill had 8 Td's and 21 INTs. So I checked ESPN and no, apparently Miami is still 1-2.

Same as the Saints. And 49ers. Maybe they'll trade Brees and Harbaugh down to Miami since 1-2 is now considered quitting time. Packers sitting at 1-2 too, 7 points vs Detroit's defense? Clearly Rodgers is a bum and McCarthy an idiot, their only win was a huge comeback at home vs a lowly Jets team who might be 1-2 themselves after tonight. If not, it'll be Chicago at 1-2 with losses to both NY and Buffalo. The Chiefs won yesterday to climb to 1-2. IJS, perspective isn't against the rules is it?

Tell the HC that though...he obviously feels the need to start a QB controversy.

I'm as disappointed in Tannehill's play as any Dolphin fan, and he isn't cutting it. But he has the talent to play better than this. We saw it in 14 out of the 16 games last season. To pull the plug and put the offense in Moore's hands at this point seems foolish to me unless the coaches are seeing something in practice that leads them to believe Moore provides a better chance at playoff chances this season.

tannys struggles remind me of cam newton last year the panthers started 1-3 i think. cam wasnt getting it and ron rivera was on the hot seat. cam answered the bell lets see if ryan can do it. this is a total team collapse. really 11 drops in 3 games. where has hartline ,gibson and clay been? the defense is avg right now and avg defenses cant tackle as bad as this one does.

Always condescending with your "lol" and "rofl". It's exhausting. If I had a fcking dollar every time you've said "lol" with nothing else added as value I'd be a damn millionaire.

You and LBfinest, I don't even know who's who to be completely honest.

Of course not. He hopped into the proverbial bed with Aponte last year to save his own ***, and now he's trying to shift focus away from his own accountability this year to save it a second time.

If our head coach feels 2.2 years is sufficient time to critically assess Tannehill [and potentially his future in Miami], then, following that same line of thinking, 2.2 years is also enough time for Stephen Ross to critically assess Philbin and his future in Miami, as well as Tannehill's QB coach Zac Taylor. The week Tannehill gets benched for his lack of production is the week Philbin & Taylor should be FIRED for theirs, because they sure as s**t don't deserve special privileges when they've yet to earn them in their respective positions, and they sure as s**t don't deserve any more rope than Philbin allows Tannehill.

Perhaps coach Philbust should be more concerned with hiring a f***ing qualified quarterback coach than looking for reasons to give up on Tannehill. Yeah yeah I know, Bill Lazor. He's got enough on his hands with this bumbling offense to worry about performing Zac Taylor's job for him too. Perhaps that's been part of the reason for the offense's malaise- Lazor having to divide too much attention between the offense AND Tannehill since someone needs to step up and develop our QB while Taylor is in over his head. Since Lazor's time is finite, any of it spent working with Tannehill [addressing his mechanics and so forth] is less time spent installing & fine-tuning the offense and providing assistance to the rest of the players in need of it, is it not?

The teams you are pointing out have exactly done something in the last 5 years while the dolphins have been 6-10 to 8-8.They get the benefit of the doubt to turn it around with QBS capable of greatness while ours has shown nothing but being average since hes been here.I want one person on this site to tell me tannehill has been great any point in the last 3 years.

You're also pointing out QBs who have proven something, while Tannecant hasn't proven anything, other than the fact he isn't a QB. As well as well established coaches instead of the Joe Schmo like we have. Honestly not a great comparison you came up with.

Furthermore, it was no mystery that Tannehill's mechanics would need to be addressed this offseason (validated by the countless hours spent working on them), so why, WHY the hell did Philbust not hire a coach to specifically do so?!!!!

How absurd is it to make your new Offensive Coordinator responsible for developing your quarterback and fixing his mechanics just so you can keep your best friend's inept son-in-law employed as Miami's QB Coach?! Such an abuse of power it's sickening. Philbust clearly hasn't had the franchise's best interest in mind from the day he was hired with all his efforts to hook friends up and keep them around, so Ross shouldn't trust that weasel with his franchise as far as Fields can punt him [although I'd still like to see that experiment]. He should be fired ASAP before he can do any more damage or abuse any more authority. I hear the Patriots are looking for a new grounds keeper.

There's a part of me that wants to see Moore start and just proceed to sling the ball all over the place like a boss.

That said, we still need to see if Tannehill can turn this around and be the guy. Still too early to give up on him, IMO.

One scenario I don't see being taken into consideration is what if Moore comes in and is HORRIBLE. What then? Go back to Tannehill?

All this is probably moot anyway because we all know Tannehill will start on Sunday.

So is it a given that we will be drafting a QB in the 1st rd of the draft? As soon as Moore gets the start over Tannecant, no matter what week it is, obviously means he's not "our guy"

    I agree 100%.

Also don't think it's fair to Moore when people say he can't succeed. Franchise QB? No damn way. But he can succeed and its possible he has even become better with time on the bench learning the system and working his mechanics week in and week out.

Geno has tannehill beat in confidence. I'd give the nod to Ryan in every aspect but confidence is highly important. He just looks sharper because of it.

I think it is ridiculous that you think Smith looks like a better QB. Watch the Jets in the red zone week to week. They take the ball out of Geno's hands. You want to know why? Look at the red zone interception he threw earlier.

The decisions he makes with the football are downright awful.

The problem on this team is a lot deeper than just the quarterback. Yes, Tannehill has looked bad, but Hartline hit the nail on the head. On almost every play, on both sides of the ball, there's either a scheming problem or one or more players don't execute their assignments, or blow a fundamental like tackling or taking a bad angle, resulting in a negative play or penalty. This team simply does not have its act together, and that's Philbin's responsibility. Philbin has failed, as a result of which Tannehill is failing.

and was promoted by the Jets the off season. I have no idea if Zach Taylor is any good at his job but the fact that he is Mike Sherman's son-in-law doesn't automatically dismiss the possibility.

I think this is a stupid move by Philbin. Ryan has regressed this season and it seems to me the reason is he is over thinking things. Lazor is admittedly hyper-critical of his QBs and I think that is getting into Ryan's head. What he needs is some confidence building not for his HC to put him on notice. He needs to go out and play without over analyzing ever aspect of every throw. What Ryan needs is a sit down with Danny so a little of his devil may care attitude can wear off on him.
