Are you just hearing what has been widely reported?

    or

Are you saying no routes have been run incorrectly contributing to the problems with our offense?

    The former.

To be honest with you, I'm not exactly good at spotting good or bad route running unless it's like superduper, billboard over player stating 'BAD ROUTE!", obvious.

Gotcha, from Lazor press conferences, it more a lack of correct depth of route and crispness of breaks from WR that is contributing to what Tannehill sees vs anticipates and impacting success. Its not a WR vs. QB arqument, its more of an entire O out of sync and we need to fix this going forward type analysis Lazor has stated. fix routes, fixes timing, increases chance of completion, etc.

Yup, Lazor doesn't pull punches....its Yin and Yang....accuracy relates to some incorrect routes, and some incompletions strictly relate to accuracy issues.

All this thread really does is state that Marino feels the same way about Philbin as probably 90% of the Dolphins fans feel about him.

At least it is nice to see that even though he is now employed by the Dolphins, he doesn't feel that he has to support individuals in the organization who aren't getting the job done.

I prefer someone who is willing to tell Ross the truth and not what he thinks Ross might want to hear.

And the protection issues..Tannehill has been getting pressure up the middle..our interior line has been breaking down..

The Dolphins are on pace to give up 48 sacks this year. That is below the 58 last year, but it certainly seems that when it comes to pass protection, this OL isn't much better than last years OL so far.

The types of sacks have been much different. I'd say about 4-5 of the sacks so far this year have been coverage sacks.

You would need more information than just sacks to make that statement.

You would need at least, average time in pocket.

If memory serves me correct Wasn't Philbin questioning Tannehill last year. I believe there was a hell of a push back from the fan base when he did. I believe it involved Bringing in David Gerrard, who by the way I was very disappointed didnt get a chance to play.

Marino has since came out with a statement saying that bleacher report report is a bunch of BS and its not his place to comment on or evaluate Philbin or Tannehill.

It's entirely possible Cole is full of crap on Dan's role.

However that said, the Dolphins HAD to squash this rumor. Had to. You can't have your head coach thinking a Hall of Famer just got hired specifically to give him the thumbs up or thumbs down, and after only two weeks he's already leaning toward thumbs down. You can't operate that way. If Dan is here to give input or advice on he head coach and quarterback, it's not something you make an official part of his job description.

Similar to last year, Tannehill is among the league leaders in the number of pass dropbacks. When you consider the percentage of the time he's sacked on dropbacks, it isn't all that great in comparison to the league average.

In fact, Tannehill has been sacked on 6.6% of his dropbacks, the league average is 5.3%, and seven NFL QBs have been sacked more often.

Also, the Dolphins have surrendered pressure on Tannehill on 27.9% of his dropbacks, which is below the league average of 31.5%, and is better than 19 teams in the league.

Marino should be screaming this stuff from a mountain top. That's his job to advise Ross. If he's not advising Ross that this whole situation sucks then he's not doing his job. Eff Philbin. The public knows he's gone. We all wanted Marino back with the team, hell some wanted him to be a GM type. So if he says he's not happy with Philbin, so be it. Is he really saying anything that extreme?

I agree with you and I always value your input in this Forum.I am new to the forum but have beenn a diehard fan since 66. I also watch allot of college ball and I have always felt that you draft a QB every year until you get it right.

If you happen to get it right twice in a row, you can potentially swing a deal like what St. Louis squandered in the trade with Washington. Resource-wise at least.

I'm fine with James at #19 but I'd have loved Teddy. The kid can just play football, he's smart, he's accurate, his arm is strong enough to succeed. The film is good, he's just the full package.

I was also shocked he fell where he did.

I would of rather have had Garoppolo in the 2nd. Sit him while Tannehill gets his last two years of his deal out of the way.

One thing to keep in mind: Dan Marino was unhappy with Shula a lot of the time too.

Tannehill just acknowledged that Philbin not naming him as starter has caused a distraction in the locker room. Also said he's starting.

The reports have been out since yesterday that Tanne will be starting. The media speculations and hearsay, etc, etc, etc, are just out of control. Maybe it's just the bait they throw out there for all of us fans to feast on and keep checking in with them for updates, etc .In a lot of these situations, it's such second hand news. We rarely no the real origins and what really happened.

Whether Rt is the qb for this team or not, Philbin is a joke. As soon as a coach starts making decisions based on saving his job, he has already lost it
