From some of the things you've said about wilson and what your saying about brady last year, gotta tell ya, it ain't worth the argument, if you don't see it from the accomplishments and play from both players last year, your blind.

    Can't. Tell. If. Serious.

If you are, then you need to have your dosages checked by a health care professional immediately.

There's a good way to disagree. Make light of mental health. I even said I wouldn't get bent out of shape if someone disagreed, and you gotta talk about dosages. So many of the people on this forum just want to be disagreeable and don't even see the people they're replying to as human or even intelligent. My answer was serious. Here's a point-by-point explanation fit for a moron. I'm not making accusations, mind you. I don't assume everybody else on this board is a moron, even though I can see that many people do assume that everybody else is a moron. Maybe I should change my approach, because assuming everybody else is intelligent clearly doesn't work around here.

I'm as serious as I'm sure the Pats' offense will fail to get it done AGAIN this year and it will be blamed on skill players. Watch the last 2 AFC Championship games. Or don't, and just tell someone else to go see a doctor.

Look, I'd absolutely take Eli over Brady in a big game. Well, the biggest game of all, anyway. That's not so crazy is it? Watch Super Bowls 42 and 46. Or don't, and just tell someone else to go see a doctor.

As for Wilson, I'm almost sure that 95% of this forum hasn't seen him play. NFL Game Rewind. Pick a game. How about the last Super Bowl? Or the last game between the Seahawks and Broncos. That way, you can see Wilson play the Broncos twice, albeit with different personnel, and you can see Brady play the Broncos once, albeit with the weaker personnel group. The Broncos sold out to stop the run, and Brady did NADA. Wilson did a few things against the Broncos. You don't have to check these games out, because you seem to have a good thing going for you.

I suspect that a lot of people think Brady's mojo wins him games. I suspect that Tom Brady is one of those people.

    New Headline:

Joe Philbin accepts responsibility for being a MAD GENIUS!

Maybe Joe really was trying to deflect attention away from his players and toward himself. If so, it really worked for the players this week.

Maybe RTTT can play jet-lagged every week. Send him and his wife to exotic places and fly them back right before each game.

Meh... give me a break. This win today was more about Oakland being terrible, than Philbin being a motivational genius.

Believe it or not, I understand that. Philbin is a dolt. He may occasionally stumble into the right decision, though, and I will be happy about that.

This isn't an example of him making a right decision. There is no relationship between the two IMO because Oakland is that bad. Dennis Allen should be the first coach fired, then Philbin IMO. Not taking anything away from this great win today, but its not because of a "right decision" that Philbin made by electing to say RT was his starter. Regardless of the outcome today, what he did earlier this week was completely the wrong decision.

I get that POV, and I would have done differently, but some coaches get credit for being "master manipulators" or "great at mind games" for doing things like what Joe Philbin did this week. It doesn't happen so much in the NFL, but in the NBA and in soccer, it happens a lot: a coach does something off color and gets credited with "taking the heat off his team." Of course, I think whatever good came out of what Joe Philbin did this week was probably an accident, so I was kinda having fun with that idea.

    Case in point.

Here's a hint: there are some offices where "off your meds" jokes aren't taken all that well.

Here's another one: let's pretend that we all love "off your meds" jokes here. The joke still tends to work better when someone says something that is unheard of to the listener. It's really unheard of to you that Brady isn't what he used to be?

I'm with ya on this, I think the distraction as its being called, was exactly what the doctor ordered..

I think people are not seeing the angle correctly, I could be wrong, but without actually saying that Ryans job was in jeopardy, he called him out in a public way that was ever so slight..bout as slight as you can get no?

Twas a test, and you did what I figured. You gotta loosen up, man. The disagreement was your assertion that Eli Manning is better than Brady. Although, I also disagree with the idea that Brady is in a significant decline.

And then addressed the team about it and accept blame? Hardly. Ryan played better and that was a BAD Oakland team, nothing more. Glad they got a win and have the bye week coming. I am not slapping Joe on the back for mishandling things this week just because the team over came it.

Winning or losing does not change an admitted mistake. A mistake(admitted) is a mistake. Scoreboard can absolve a mistake...not making it the right thing.

Admitting something is a mistake has no bearing if that thing is a mistake. That's just benchmark you made up out of thin air.

Fin D, I am glad they won. They played well vs a bad team. I am sure we agree on that. We will agree to disagree that Philbin handled the week well. I think he played the whole story poorly. But, I thought he coached a good game today. Was agressive on 4th down, the team finally put together a good 1st half and the team seemed well prepared. I wish he coaches this well the rest of the way.

I realize the raiders talent level, but him apologizing to the team seemingly could be part of the process of having come to his wits end with the player, maybe because he felt the player if not poked, was going down the wrong path..i thought he needed to be saved..lol..

If there was a player who demonstrated that they needed their *** lit you dint think ryan fit that script the past five games.

Precisely, and you can apologize for the media frenzy toward the players, which was an effect of the non-committal statement about Tannehill, without necessarily apologizing for the statement itself.

Did you see him use his legs today! Makes our offense so much better with him a threat to run even a little. Why has it taken so long to incorporate this in our game plan?!!! So happy he played better today.

I said I'd take Eli in a big game over Brady. I absolutely would. 2-0 with 2 MVP awards isn't too bad. I didn't think that record would be worthy of a "you're insane" kind of response.

Clearly I lack your refined sense of humor. That's okay. Thanks for finally saying something about football, and thanks for letting me know that anytime an idiom is misused, it's probably a test. I'll pass it next time.

Can you be more clear?, because I'm not quite clear as to my own interpretation of the distraction..I was all in favor for checking ryan Tannehill publicly, I thought somewhat of a drastic measure needed to be taken to push this dude because I didn't think he was going there on his own..
