I was thinking along those same lines. Also, if they keep him on the PS too long they'll run the risk of him being signed off it by some team that may start to experience health issues with their backs.
James, I was a fan predraft, wanted us too draft him actually, moreno is out for another three games, that eval isn't looking to good considering what has gone down since entering the league, but I would like to find out.
Nice. It will be tearful and I can picture them running toward each other in slow motion for a big, manly hug.
To me, Daniel Thomas is in line for a free drink if I ever see him just because of that Pittsburgh game.
I think at this point there has to be some sort of MAJOR off-field red flag as it relates to Seastrunk.
Not a fan of Seastrunk personally, I think they can plug in any running back in Baylor and look good. Shock Linwood is having success too. When you're facing Baylor you're worried about the go routes first, Petty second, and the running backs third.
Yeah I just watched some reps of james in Sanfransisco.. Man he's got some some pitter patter feet and they don't go upfield very much, he runs while trying to anticipate what the other guy is gonna do, not great vision, and just doesn't run upfield very well, way to prone to go horizontal.. Ehhh..
Not sure about pitter-patter feet but that was a knock on Damien Williams in the draft process as well. He was mostly an outside zone runner at OU and he's done pretty well with Miami thus far. I'll grant you that he's a much bigger back than James, but Lazor/Nixon seem to have straightened out the kinks. With James, I see more of a kick/punt returner and someone who can run some specialized plays the way Mike Sherman used Marcus Thigpen like once or twice every 10 weeks or so. That said, I'm not sure who he would take off the 53 at this point. Miami still has to cut someone next week to clear Reshad Jones' spot and they'll have to cut another when Dion Jordan comes back. I'd think likely candidates could be Jonathan Freeny now that Tripp is healthy and can play ST, and perhaps someone like Jason Fox as Pouncey is back, or close to it and you don't really need to carry 10 linemen.
Yeah, maybe he just never got comfortable in that scheme. He should a good scheme fit. Coincidentally, those were the same problems miller had last couple years. I really just wish miller would run a long one. I'm still traumatized from the run last year where he got caught from behind.
Its exactly like miller was running, not a full committment to running downhill full speed, always kinda shuffling and watching the defenders Instead of just pure vision and decisiveness.
Coleman on the 53 is a waste if a roster spot.. Idk Ro, he just wasn't running downhill full speed..he's got to go upfield with authority.. I mean it's not a mystery anymore as to why folks weren't jumpin at him when he asked for his release, he's put some very average tape out there. I still wanna see him get action..
I'm kind of curious how much effect John Benton pushing Shanahan/Kubiak-style teaching methods is effecting our run game. Things like the entire offense rather than just the running-backs knowing the reads, the runningbacks being coached to hit the hole quickly with minimal indecision, etc. and so on. The team has a much wider variety of run plays than the Texans would, but even then it seems like Miller and Moreno have both had personal growth in terms of players.
Honestly I think James is probably a better version of Marcus Thigpen if used correctly. We'll see...I doubt he really sees the field unless he picks things up fast. Hopefully he can make some plays for us.
