Do you ever purposely not watch dolphins games sometimes because they make you so nervous? I do this because I get so nervous sometimes that I don't even watch some of the games. Instead, I will just check the score periodically.

sometimes when miami is playing and i have my iPad on my lap to check the fantasy scores , i will get an unwanted pop up of FG, TD's scored or allowed since my stream on gamepass is like a minute behind, it sucks i hate it when this happens, especially if our defense gets scored on

The anxiety and nerves are what make the game so special. It comes with the territory and I'd want it no other way.

Sometimes. I can definitely relate to getting nervous with it. Heart racing, sweating (i sweat alot anyway), etc. If things start going downhill i may head over to the PC or walk the dog. If it's really bad i'll find some yard work to do. Or if we've lost 3 in a row, i'll stop setting aside that time on sundays, but still end up watching most of the game anyway (because i'm a dolphins fan and a sucker for pain).

Plus, every time we run the ball or get run against, my cheeks clench right up lol. My knee caps are locked together until the running play is over or our guy makes it to the open field.

Damn right. I'm an Orioles fan (lost track over last decade), but that has never caused the same type of response. it's just the Phins - gets in your blood or something.

When our offense sucks, I find myself flipping over to another game. I can't watch 'stuggle games'. I need to see scoring. Field goals don't make me fist pump.

I'm a pretty damn big Mets fan, but that doesn't hold a candle to the passion I have for the Dolphins.

You're right, it's in my blood.

Never watch them any more. Seems like there were some incredible jinx events going on the moment I'd start watching, so I quit and started listening on the radio (internet). Been doing this for years along with refreshing thePhins game day thread like a MF.

I'm nervous every single game, unless they have a 3 TD lead late, like last week. For me, watching the games is a privelage, and this will be the first season Ive ever been able to watch all of them live as they happen. I would never turn a game off, but if they're getting their butts kicked, I'll open up the PC and browse other games scores and whatnot as I stew in rage.

Yup, I get the same feeling around Thursday of every week as we tick down to Sunday. One of the best feelings in the world.

Edit- for those who are too nervous to watch the game, I'm guessing that you're placing a wager or two on it. My advice; never bet on your favorite teams! Your emotions will lie to you more often than not and you'll make dumb bets.

I usually watch my fantasy football roster between plays since they never show replays these days and there are a million commercial breaks. It does take some edge off win or lose.

I am nervous every game in the 4th quarter when they score and leave 1:38 on the clock. "TOOO MUCH TIME, TOOO MUCH TIME - THEY'RE GOING TO COME BACK!!!".
I find myself yelling this - often.

I watch every game every season. If they're getting thrashed I might switch in the 4th qtr when its mathematically impossible to come back

I can't watch two hrs of commercials. I do yard work and wait as long as I can so I can fast forward the commercials and halftime. If I catch up to live action, which I usually always do, I try to pause it and do something so I can fast forward. I think it's like a jinx to catch up to live tv.

I did that for the first bit of the Raiders game....I was NOT going to watch my team get humiliated to the ****ing Raiders.

Then I checked my phone and it was 17-7 Miami and I laughed and tuned in, so glad I did.

When I was younger, I was so into the Dolphins that I would be upset for days after the Dolphins lost a game. Back then, I couldn't wait for football season and the thought of missing even one play of a Dolphin game would have made me crazy.

Perhaps the last decade of mediocre play have jagged me or just the fact I have gotten older, but now I can sit and watch an entire Dolphin game and not even get excited or upset if they win or lose. Sometimes I will even record the game while I am out playing golf and only watch it if they win.

When I was in my late teens and early 20s, I would be in a bad mood through Wed or Thu after a loss too. These days though, married with two kids, I'm able to mearly get depressed about a loss, and not let it boil over like that for most of a week. Bigger things to focus on, though I still love the Fins just as much.

After so many years without a possibility to watch the games on tv here in Switzerland I don't miss a play since the games are available on internet. I was way more nervous when I had to listen on the radio. However if the Phins lose, it doesn't matter if i witness that in front of a TV or a radio - my wife always says "this sport is really bad for your health"!

Yup, as excited as i get for the game, if they lose, it's just football and I find something else to do - perhaps in a little worse mood, but moving on none the less. For a win however, i'll take the good feeling into the rest of the day. Probably enjoy watching some of the 4pm games if i'm feeling really lazy.

Having kids and moving up in my job helped me understand that I could not expend the emotion and energy on something I have no control over. The kids also saved my life as I was clearly headed for a bad ending.

Got the new Samsung Galaxy S5 with the heart rate monitor. Normally I'm between 60-85 BPM. 15 minutes before the Pats game week 1 I measured out of curiosity and I was 144 BPM! I get worked up every week.
