The end was close for a while. I would always deviate from the Disney-Nickelodeon block of channels every couple of Saturdays to see if the morning cartoons were still a "thing." There really hasn't been much for my kids to watch there though for a while. Kind of sad, that was a huge part of my childhood.

If only there was a channel dedicated to showing cartoons. That would be one helluva idea.

Before this "news" story posted, I actually had no idea that the big networks still showed cartoons at all. As it said, most of them quit back in the early 90s, when I was in high school. With my kids, we watch the Nick channels and PBS most of the time anyways. With DirecTV, I think that we have a block of 10-12 kids channels all together. No need for the other networks to waste time on it.

And yes, Map needs to die. At least he's minimized on the new Dora show. I'm convinced that he's simply been trying to get her killed for years. Go through the valley of doom, over the volcano, and across the crocodile lake instead of walking around it all.

This does suck but if I were a kid with today's technology I wouldn't need Saturday morning tv anyway. You can download or stream most shows these days, so you wouldn't have to worry about missing episodes. I have a mega collection of old school cartoons and shows I downloaded and burned on dvds(Nickelodeon stuff, Disney afternoon, old ninja turtles, real ghostbusters, animaniacs, ect). Someone's got to preserve this stuff, especially if I ever have kids, I'd want them exposed to good stuff. On a side note, if I were still a kid today Id also have ebay and Amazon to be able to find toys I couldn't find at my local Toys R Us. That would've been nice to have, on your bday or xmas, especially for when I'd get the same toy multiple times from different people. I couldve just traded it with someone on ebay for a toy Id want. Too bad I'm no longer a kid, but I envy kids today that have no idea how much better technology is today. If only we could merge today's tech with our childhoods, we'd be set.

Yes, I've spent alot of time thinking about this.
