Cant wrap my head around the theory that when an NFL player gets injured, more often then not its his own fault. A player that's prone to fumbling the ball has protection issues, no doubt about that, and I`m sure any player that's prone to fumbling would admit he has to do a better job of protecting the ball. However, I doubt that the majority of players that get injured would agree that it was there own fault. Huge difference between fumbles and injuries. Fumbles are bad technique, injuries are unfortunate.

I love seeing our starting RB run ten yards backwards.
    Miller is still nothing special.

The line play has been much better.
Miller is great at running through a gaping hole but watch him make it happen on his own. He can't.
Special backs make things happen on their own. Pure and simple.

I don't think he's special. He's good enough to help the team more than he hurts it.

Well f---. Maybe he shouldn't have been back so soon. Hope Miller keeps stepping up.

Apparently Philbin was supposed to disclose the injury and may be in line for scrutiny from league office. As per ProFootballTalk

    http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.co...-apparently-failed-to-disclose-moreno-injury/

Would love to occasionally hear praise or reports about things Philbin did well.

I went into this season hoping that Gurly would end up as a Dolphin in 2015.

After five games, I think QB and CB, and LB are bigger needs than RB in the early rounds of the 2015 draft.

    false.

I don't think anyone is calling Miller the next Payton, but he's a top 15-10 back in today's NFL. Every running back is only as good as the o-line. there are games where even the best have 20ish carries for 40-60 yards and no impact.

I'm sure you've heard of the term drop and roll, think of lessening your chances of injury with that theory, being able to keep tight and not flailing is a science...if you watch rg3 run from the pocket he doesn't understand this, his body and limbs are not protected by conscious effort, he just forgets and throws himself into the fire..of course most are not avoidable, but some are just thru keeping your body tight.

after isolating jenkins and misi, I'm very happy with those two spots moving forward, they were fun to watch on sunday..played well together, got to the ball fast, jenkins is smart, diagnose quickly thru film study, and has explosive traits..Misi just has to learn the playaction game, he is susceptible, but the other stuff was good.

i wish someone could do a breakdown of their reps..fun stuff.

That`s my point, MOST injuries in the NFL are unfortunate and unavoidable. I do agree that some players are reckless and don't know how to protect themselves but, most of the time they`re just part of the game regardless how cautious a player is.

I like Jenkins and Misi is an upgrade over Ellerbe in the middle, yet I still think he is merely average as an NFL LB. McCain might develop into a solid LB over the rest of this season and if he does, perhaps drafting a LB early in next years draft might not be necessary.

Also perhaps the next DC will want to play a 3-4 defense and that would create a legitimate LB position for Jordan.

A 3-4 with Jenkins, Misi, McCain, and Jordan as the LB starters, along with Wake, Mitchell, and Vernon on the DL, would be a very imposing front seven IMO.

I went into the season having concerns with the LB's and the secondary. The LBs have played much better than last year, but the secondary has regressed.

So I believe drafting players for the secondary will have to be a priority in next years draft. The young CB's taken in the 2012 draft just haven't stepped up and Finnegan and Grimes are on the downside of their careers.

He's been solid but I don't think he's great. He goes down easy and he has trouble making guys miss. He has shown a lot more toughness this year as well as being more likely to make one cut and go as opposed to dancing. Regardless, we need him to be big.

I have to agree, on all points. He's been electric when he has the chance to get to the second level and accelerate...then follows it up with a fingertip ankle-tackle. He's been a surprise though...I didn't expect him to do as well as he has.

He's no Jamaal Charles but he's at 5.2 ypc and was at 5 two years ago. For a bad RB he seems to do pretty well on average. His average is higher than Demarco Murray ... now of course, if he rant it as much as Murray there is no guarantee that average would stay.
