1) The team plays with real heart. It's debatable whether they are playing for each other more than playing for their coach, but the fact remains: this team does have real heart. 2) We finally have a rushing attack. Lamar Miller is developing and looks better than ever. 3) Our O-line is better than it has been in years. 4) Our young QB had a great second half when it counted the most. While the jury is still out, the good news is... the jury is still out. He shows enough continuing promise that there is a decent chance he can perform well with the right system and coaching around him. Remember, he is only beginning to reach the number of college-NFL combined starts where the game should be slowing down a bit, and he is doing it in a new offense. It's not over for Ryan Tannehill. 5) We have one of the best D-lines in the NFL 6) The talent seems to be there, at last. There is no position on the roster where we know we have all crappy players. Every position has at LEAST some arguable talent and potential at it. That's important. Maybe more importantly, there is upside at many of these positions. We may not be deep yet, but at least we have the starting positions decently covered and then some. 7) Our roster is a nice mix of young players and veterans (15th oldest roster as of the start of the season). 8) Our injuries have not hurt us... in fact, some have helped us, or created space for others to step up. Ellerbe and Misi's injuries are part of what allowed Jelani Jenkins to get onto the field as a started. Miller has done well in Moreno's absence. We haven't been too hurt by players getting hurt. Grateful for that. 9) Dan Marino is in the house. I trust Dan. No one I have ever seen burns with more desire to win than Dan the Man. I have complete faith he will be in Ross' ear to do what needs to be done to improve this organization. Dan has nuts. Dan fears nothing. Dan has isotoners for everyone. 10) Us. The fans here at ThePhins.com. We may be the best thing about this franchise today. Let's keep it that way.
The best thing about this team is that I still care. I didn't think I had it in me to be pissed off for a few days after a game.
My #11 would be that if we can somehow go up to Chicago and whoop the Bears (hey, they play in the NFC North!), we're 3-3 with four division games to play and dangit, I'm not giving up on us yet.
A few positives for me. Very good young roster for our next HC to work with. Excited about Tannehill's further development in this offense. Mike Wallace and Jarvis Landry being more involved. They are fun and exciting players to watch. Love watching Landry truck people. Rashad Jones playing like a missile. Jenkins has been great and we have McCann just waiting to bust out.
Cam Wake. We get to watch one of the best defensive players in the League every week. And we've had this privilege for years.
Our team did play with a ton of heart last Sunday. The only real shame is that we've wasted a couple of years with this good young team with Philbin at the helm. I worry that our window of opportunity will get ruined even with a new coach because we will start losing the young core of this team after a couple more years. Whoever the new coach is, he better make quick impact.
I'm struggling to even make fun of the Jets fans at work. They are so pathetic now they can't even muster up the will to talk football.
Agreed. Re: the bolded, I haven't heard anyone give Landry anything but love for Sunday's performance.
#1 Cautious Coach Joe is FINALLY developing players, guys like Jenkins who have the tools #2-10 Uhm, c'mon man, it is gm #6 we are looking at atm
Look at that sig real close and just think how freakin cool and diverse it can be, I mean that thing could be the symbol for the city..now imagine our old one trying to do the same.. Great uniform and logo was done right, thank you whoever.
